[MOPO] Question for Members who sell on EBAY and others who might be interested
I just received this e-mail from an EBAY buyer who owes me for several items he's purchased on the site: I'M REALLY,REALLY ASHAMED AND TERRIBLY SORRY FOR TH? INCONVENIENCE I CAUSED YOU,BUT PLEASE,I BEG YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART AND FOR YOUR OWN GOOD KARMA'S SAKE,TO CANCEL THE TRANSACTION OF THESE PARTICULAR POSTERS.I GUESS YOU KNOW ABOUT THE FISCAL GREEK DEFAULT,THEREFORE,I'M EXTREMELY SHORT OF MONEY RIGHT NOW.Yes,I bought THESE items,BUT PLEASE,I BEG YOU to forgive me for my foolish compulsiveness.I'm an honest (not a fraud) buyer but in this case, the situation is far beyond me.SO,PLEASE,SHOW SOME OF THE LENIENCY OF YOUR SOUL AND UNDERSTANDING.It just only happened once to me,so please,do not report any complaint to eBAY.I beg for forgiveness.I'M JUST A HUMAN BEING (LIKE all of us),THAT UNWITTINGLY got carried away with bidding for items I couln't realise,at that time,(that ultimatelly,I wouldn't be able to afford to pay).Send me an invoice with your eBAY fees for listing those items I wiill immediately send you all your expenses via PayPal.God Bless and thank you.Dimitris My instinct is to handle this situation by the book and marking the items he hasn't paid for as Unpaid Items on EBAY and let the chips fall where they may. Re: [MOPO] Question for Members who sell on EBAY and others who might be interested
While the email sounds way over the top, with the CAPS and all.. i would guess this person is foreign, based on his sentence structure. It certainly sounds like he got himself in, and realized he cannot afford your items. He has offered to reimburse your listing/relisting fees. It isnt as tho he has vaporized and left you hanging. Whatever he bid on and won, you will be able to sell in the future, most likely. Why not let accept what he has offered and move forward? Yes, he backed out of the deal. But it isnt as tho he has the items, claims non receipt of said items AND never paid, or filed a paypal dispute, like many try and do. -KL On Fri, Nov 25, 2011 at 9:48 AM, channinglylethomson channinglylethom...@att.net wrote: I just received this e-mail from an EBAY buyer who owes me for several items he's purchased on the site: I'M REALLY,REALLY ASHAMED AND TERRIBLY SORRY FOR TH? Re: [MOPO] Question for Members who sell on EBAY
Yikes! Sorry to hear that,Channing. I cringe thinking about selling on eBay like I used to do. It can't be that easy these days with all the loose canons and fee's on top of that. I guess that's why Bruce has Handle more than 100 pieces for me so far this year with no fuss. Yes, I am on a bit of a poster diet after a tube fell on my head. Best to all, dario. Re: [MOPO] Question for Members who sell on EBAY
Well Channing I would forgive him... many deadbeats dont ever reply. if you do cancel transaction you will get fees back . I would wish the person well and perhaps they may buy in future. Ive noticed that buyers everywhere are being compulsive and in Toledo Fights broke out today over deals at walmart... that has to say something about the worlds buyers and stress I think we are living in some very different times and people are notmaking good choices in buying or even selling. There are some ripoffs out there, I uses this as my meter I try to do my best and I figure its not what they do but what I do and if i do whaats honest then they have to to take responsibility. Sure it sux to lose a sale or the hassle But its practice on how to deal with situations as its always best when we can solve things peacefully and with good will. If he is telling the truth , then you may make a persons life so much better. Hope that helps. kinda cosmic it happened at thanks giving... Ive made mistakes and had buyers remorse so I could imagine if we bought items and discovered we didnt have the funds. hope all works out positive. best, Tom Original Message From: m...@vintagemovieart.ca To: MoPo-L@LISTSERV.AMERICAN.EDU Subject: Re: [MOPO] Question for Members who sell on EBAY Date: Fri, 25 Nov 2011 11:56:33 -0800 Yikes! To me this shows you had depth and concern and just wanted validation.. Todays society is riddled with many people wondering if they should forgive.. thats what the whole Occupy movement seems to be about,,, should we forgive the bankers then turn around and they not forgive the lemdees... Re: [MOPO] [OT] Highlights of New York Broadway shows on what TV channel
Sorry for the off topic question but a few days ago I watched highlights from broadway shows in New York. I don't remember the channel or title of the show but it showed highlights of Spider-Man, The Book of Mormon, Rock of Ages and Stomp. Did anyone see it and know what channel it was on? Re: [MOPO] Question for Members who sell on EBAY and others who might be interested
eBay has a process that they like sellers to go through in these cases. Rather than filing a non paying bidder alert, you can mutually agree to cancel the transaction. You get the commission back but not the listing fees. The problem with this is that the seller has to file the claim. On rare occasions you file the claim but the buyer doesnt agree to cancel the transaction despite the fact that they requested that in the first place. However, if the buyer is genuine then it should be no problem to mutually agree to cancel the transaction.
