Subject: [MOPO] two quick questions for 1950s sci-fi buffs

1) Who among you has ANY movie paper of any kind from this movie. Stranger From
Venus  (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0047529/)?

2) Who among you even HEARD of this movie before reading this post?

I thought I knew every 1950s sci-movie, but not THIS one.

And if someone had yesterday asked me, name TWO 1950s sic-fi movies where
Patricia Neal meets a mysterious visitor from another planet, I would have
thought they were crazy!

[MOPO] Ebay query

2012-05-09 Thread Richard C Evans
Hi all,

What's the score with ebay when you win an item, put through payment on paypal,
and then get an email from the seller saying he's not happy about the price
achieved?

He didn't get to any point other than whining about it, though there's the
clear implication he may want to renege.

Though in which case his present 100% positive feedback will get a stinking
downgrade.

Anyone know what ebay's position would be with this?

Thanks.

what gets me about people like this (of which there are too many) is
the concept that he has to have a win every time (in what ever they are doing)

that's not a realistic concept of life in any way, shape or form and
our populace with this concept will never be a happy person about
anything in real-life circumstances.

life is full of wins AND losses of every shape size and the lucky

Thanks for responses all.

Not a high value item, which in a way makes it all the more tiresome.

Made clear suggestion to seller that he will no longer have 100% pos feedback
if he's idiotic enough to renege and cancel sale.

Called ebay, lady in India informed me they can't enforce sale.

Re: [MOPO] Ebay query

2012-05-09 Thread Susan Heim

Of course then there are those that you win the auction, pay for it and then
are informed that the item was lost or some other reason it can't be shipped. I
have heard all the excuses, and on several occasions, and this happened to me
also, that the seller was offered more money after the auction by someone else.
The best one I ever heard was that the person's van, with all his posters in
it, was stolen and my poster that I won the auction for was in the van. Of
course, monies are refuned, but then, in this particular case, I saw the same
poster up for sale a month later, with a reserve, by the same seller..

that's not a realistic concept of life in any way, shape or

Re: [MOPO] Ebay query

2012-05-09 Thread Sean Linkenback
Why can't you do both?
I wasn't trying to present it as an either/or situation.

But...

Captainbijou.com has been open for 18 years and according to widestat gets
about 72 visits a day.

MoviePosterExchange.com has been open for 2 months and we are averaging 2,100
visits a day.

We might slightly trail the two biggies, but we are working hard to expand a
website that not only puts you in control of your sales but reaches as wide an
audience as possible.
