Re: [MOPO] Just incredible!
Hi Rich, Thank you for your feedback. We also have around the same percentage linenbacked and were just considering what’s best moving forward. It’s a big leap moving from collector to seller and we are learning these things as we go. We recently had A Night To Remember restored and linenbacked, initially for our own personal collection, and as much as it looks absolutely stunning now, we can’t help but think, maybe we shouldn’t have done it. My thought process is, that as a non-serious collector/impulse buyer, who wants a piece for their home to display, perhaps the linenbacked items might be a more attractive purchase (in some cases), lending themselves well to framing. Whereas, the informed serious collector will be steered towards non-linen items, unless that piece is particularly rare (and for whatever reason it has been linenbacked). Hope that makes sense! So plenty for us to consider when buying as well as selling. Kindest Regards Clare Clare Rawling P. Certainly a record price. Then again, this one's a 'freak'. There were only two bidders over $250, so my guess is, the next one will sell somewhere in the $250 range... Of course, this is exactly what we're all hoping for, when sending stuff to an auction house. Helmut Wow! From $32 on Monday to $2,900 on Tuesday. It IS a great six sheet, however. One has to admit. And someone always has to be the first guy to recognize a poster may be worth more than the conventional wisdom allows.
