[MOPO] FA: STEAL THESE POSTERS: 40% of our 999 folded one-sheets closing tonight are at $1 or have no bids there are a lot of great underpriced ones at every price level!
Three times *EVERY *week we auction hundreds of items that sell for low, low prices (we actually sell lots and lots of items for $1 and $2, and around half of all that we auction goes for $14 and under). But Tuesday night's 999 folded one-sheets (covering all years and genres), closing tonight, on *TUESDAY **September 24th*, represent *REALLY* incredible values, and yet many of these are currently languishing at low, low, prices! *THE ONLY REASON I CAN IMAGINE FOR THIS IS THAT SOME BIDDERS ARE WAITING UNTIL THE END TO BID, BUT THEY MAY WELL FORGET TO DO SO (and if so, this is a golden opportunity to get incredible buys on a lot of nice one-sheets, as will be immediately evident when you scan the group of top titles below!).* With just 13 hours to go, the* *999 folded one-sheets include 81 items with no bids (8%), 386 items at $1 or with no bids (39%), 445 items at $2 or less (45%), 501 items at $3 or less (50%), 574 items at $4 or less (57%), and 614 items at $5 or less (61%)! * * HELLO! This is 2013 and I doubt you could have purchased many of these items for $5 (or far under) 20 years ago! And you can get as many of these items as you want sent in one package anywhere in the U.S. for just *$11*shipping for all (or actual cost anywhere else), *EVEN IF* you win 100 or more! And if you are in our e-mail club (over 8,200 members), you get *SEVEN *of our full-color books ($144.97 original retail) if you purchase any 15 items (no matter how inexpensive)! * * Of course, once you get *OVER* just $5, you start hitting lots and lots of better titles, but an awful lot of those are currently at *VERY*reasonable prices, far under what some of them have sold for in the past (the ones we can find any record of selling in the past!) including (click on the titles to go to the actual auctions, or click on the photo icon to just see the image): 2t905 THUNDERBALL 1sh '65 art of Sean Connery as James Bond 007 by Robert McGinnis!http://auctions.emovieposter.com/Bidding.taf?_function=detailAuction_uid1=3108137 2t285 DRACULA'S DAUGHTER 1sh R49 Gloria Holden in title role in Universal horror!http://auctions.emovieposter.com/Bidding.taf?_function=detailAuction_uid1=3107514 2t898 THIEF OF BAGDAD 1sh R47 Conrad Veidt, June Duprez, Rex Ingram, Sabu!http://auctions.emovieposter.com/Bidding.taf?_function=detailAuction_uid1=3108130 2t558 LE MANS 1sh '71 great Tom Jung artwork of race car driver Steve McQueen waving at fans!http://auctions.emovieposter.com/Bidding.taf?_function=detailAuction_uid1=3107790 2t675 OUTLAW JOSEY WALES int'l 1sh '76 Clint Eastwood is an army of one, cool different artwork!http://auctions.emovieposter.com/Bidding.taf?_function=detailAuction_uid1=3107907 2t442 HIGH SOCIETY 1sh '56 art of Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Grace Kelly Louis Armstrong!http://auctions.emovieposter.com/Bidding.taf?_function=detailAuction_uid1=3107671 2t029 ALIENS 1sh '86 James Cameron, Signourney Weaver as Ripley, this time it's war!http://auctions.emovieposter.com/Bidding.taf?_function=detailAuction_uid1=3107258 2t989 YEARLING style D 1sh '46 Gregory Peck, Jane Wyman, Claude Jarman Jr., classic!http://auctions.emovieposter.com/Bidding.taf?_function=detailAuction_uid1=3108221 2t498 JAWS 1sh '75 art of Spielberg's classic man-eating shark attacking swimmer!http://auctions.emovieposter.com/Bidding.taf?_function=detailAuction_uid1=3107727 2t956 WEST OF THE PECOS 1sh '35 cool art of cowboy Richard Dix Martha Sleeper, Zane Grey!http://auctions.emovieposter.com/Bidding.taf?_function=detailAuction_uid1=3108188 2t203 COMMANDO CODY chapter 11 1sh '53 Sky Marshal of the Universe, cool art, Lost in Outer Space!http://auctions.emovieposter.com/Bidding.taf?_function=detailAuction_uid1=3107432 2t085 BIG COMBO 1sh '55 art of Cornel Wilde Jean Wallace, classic film noir!http://auctions.emovieposter.com/Bidding.taf?_function=detailAuction_uid1=3107314 2t998 ZORRO'S BLACK WHIP chapter 7 1sh '44 Republic serial, cool artwork whipping on horseback!http://auctions.emovieposter.com/Bidding.taf?_function=detailAuction_uid1=3108230 2t950 WARRIORS 1sh '79 Walter Hill, Jarvis artwork of the armies of the night!http://auctions.emovieposter.com/Bidding.taf?_function=detailAuction_uid1=3108182 2t938 VIKINGS 1sh '58 art of Kirk Douglas, Tony Curtis Janet Leigh on long ship!http://auctions.emovieposter.com/Bidding.taf?_function=detailAuction_uid1=3108170 2t254 DESTROY ALL MONSTERS 1sh '69 Ishiro Honda's Kaiju Soshingeki, Godzilla, King Ghidorah!http://auctions.emovieposter.com/Bidding.taf?_function=detailAuction_uid1=3107483 2t307 EMPIRE STRIKES BACK style B 1sh '80 George Lucas sci-fi classic, cool art by Tom Jung!http://auctions.emovieposter.com/Bidding.taf?_function=detailAuction_uid1=3107536 2t743 RIDE THE PINK HORSE 1sh '47 Robert Montgomery film noir, written by Ben Hecht!http://auctions.emovieposter.com/Bidding.taf?_function=detailAuction_uid1=3107975 2t182 CHINATOWN 1sh '74 art of Jack Nicholson Faye Dunaway by Jim Pearsall, Roman

I only see it looking slightly better. He seems willing to cancel because he dropped it and cracked it, and that seems very prudent! Re: [MOPO] We have been running a great illustrated history of Black Film Pioneers written by longtime collector and retired film teacher, Gabe Taverney!
Thanks much, Kirby and Allen! Gabe sent me some information about these guys over a few private emails, and I begged him to do an entire series, and he reluctantly agreed, but by the end of it he was loving doing it! Special thanks must be given to Phil Wages who located many of the great images in both our Auction History and in the Hershenson/Allen Archive. I have to try to find other experts willing to contribute articles about what they are so passionate for, and we can provide images for those as well. Re: [MOPO] FA: STEAL THESE POSTERS: 40% of our 999 folded one-sheets closing tonight are at $1 or have no bids there are a lot of great underpriced ones at every price level!
Just minutes to go until these start closing and there are still 276 of these at $5 or under, and I promise you there are great deals at *EVERY *price level. Go to * http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/sort/4/13.html* to see for yourself (but hurry, or these will be going, going, gone)! Don't know exactly how thin on the ground these are, but Bruce you've only ever sold one, which reached over 900. it could probably be done with a t-shirt press, set at a very very low temperature and slowly pressured. of course, you would need intermediate media between the item press and know what you're doing etc. At 04:54 PM 9/24/2013, Richard Evans wrote: Don't know exactly how thin on the ground these are, but Bruce you've only ever sold one, which reached over 900. Total is only about $40 including shipping to the US. I think I'll keep it and hope someone can repair it. I have no idea what it would cost to fix it though. Re: [MOPO] Ice Station Zebra lenticular poster repairable?
my two cents You can use a Iron on low temp with a teflon cover and with a slip sheet substrate.. the problem may be the threshold of the temp when it could melt... as for the cracks and scratchs you could uses a thin viscosity super glue called flash sold buy Guitar re-bulders Stewart granger in ohio,,,Or contact GE plastics (industrial plastic supply house.and get a solvent and glue and uses a Hypodermic needle and apply under a microscopic loupe If you mist the card board in bacck it could steam it straight.. but care full... also if you press int with some weight like Rich offered a press like a seal press used got drymounting on a low setting may work from behind not on the lenticular side. then I would get a plastic polish and buff out the scratches being carfaul to go with the grain or the lenticular direction..you could make a jig so it was oriented in proper form... looks salvageable... maybe Dario or Poster mountain could do it.. I think it would be a cool project to save Good Luck Roland Original Message From: roland.latai...@sbcglobal.net To: MoPo-L@LISTSERV.AMERICAN.EDU Subject: Re: [MOPO] Ice Station Zebra lenticular poster repairable? Re: [MOPO] Ice Station Zebra lenticular poster repairable?
My three cents is that this is not fixable in any significant way. If one doesn't buy these lenticulars in really great condition, then one is just going to live with their faults. Deadly is having any of the image scraped off the back of these. I did not see this on ebay, but as a buyer of CINERAMA material, I would not have been interested in this, so far gone is it.
