Re: [MOPO] Ice Station Zebra lenticular poster repairable?

Received the package in the mail yesterday. But, opened it and there was
nothing inside other than an empty plastic sleeve and a piece of cardboard. The
seller wrote on the customs sticker Large 3D poster which probably is why it
was stolen.

Yeah $40 plus the cost to try and fix it might not be too bad.

Re: [MOPO] Ice Station Zebra lenticular poster repairable?

2013-10-05 Thread Richard Evans
Does this happen that often? Postal workers with such an interest in movie
ephemera that they'll risk their jobs to acquire relatively low value items.

I'm probably unfairly suspicious in these circumstances, having previous
experience of winning something and the seller, not being happy with the low
result, sending an empty package but with his own subtle slit in the tape but
too small for the poster to pass through.

Still, that empty plastic sleeve really does seem a strong evidence that it was
once in there. I think I was similarly inclined, I think I'd find it more
convenient to have away with it in the sleeve.

[MOPO] FA: 452 pressbooks close Sunday; lots of good titles, many at very low prices!

2013-10-05 Thread Bruce Hershenson
We have a *HUGE *selection of *452 pressbooks*, ending * SUNDAY
AFTERNOONhttp://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/15.html
*, October 6th beginning at 3 PM CST (*NOT* at 7 PM like our Tuesday and
Thursday auctions). You can see only the * 452
pressbookshttp://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/searchfield/title/search/pressbook/15.html
* ending Sunday at this link: *
http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/searchfield/title/search/pressbook/15.html
*.

Note that we just auctioned a wonderful group of over 100 oversized
pressbooks, and many of them sold for over $100, and one sold for over
$1,000! More and more collectors are discovering pressbooks (which combine
the best of posters and other collectibles like comic books), and yet they
sell for far less than the corresponding posters on the same titles. You
can likely purchase many pressbooks for just a few dollars each, even on
better titles.

Note that this auction also has *766* German, Danish, Austrian, East
German *programs*, and those come *BEFORE* the pressbooks and you can view
all the items at * http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/15.html*.

I just looked over the *766 programs (German, Danish, Austrian, East
German, more) and 452 pressbooks *ending on Sunday, and many of the
prices on these are really hard to believe! With just over one day to go,
the items include 106 items with no bids (9%), 522 items at $1 or with no
bids (43%), 578 items at $2 or less (47%), 683 items at $3 or less (56%),
787 items at $4 or less (65%), and 871 items at $5 or less (72%)!
