Re: [MOPO] USPS is the WORST

2021-11-17 Thread Moviemem Original Movie Posters
Things are not much better in Australia. Domestic mail is taking much longer
than it should and I have found Express Mail can take up to two weeks to go
from Queensland to Melbourne. International mail is worse and packages often
sit at the Airport for many days waiting for a flight.

It’s interesting that customers seem to be very understanding about the delays
but that really just plays into the hands of the postal service because
customers seem to be so accepting of the situation. Delays are now the new
normal. Maybe things would improve if more people complained!

Sadly, all DeJoy has been taken out of using the post office.

USPS, UPS, Fedex: as long as I get my gems intact, I'm happy. But as a small potatoes collector, I do miss the old dependable US post office.

I completely understand your decision to go UPS, Bruce. I'm just an old fart pining for times when there was at least a shred of sanity with some of our government appointees.

Stillcan't wait to get my latest bucket list item from the Halloween auctions.

Looks like my 25K in shipping annually will be going to UPS as well.

This is horrendous, makes it a minimum $10 shipping rate now regardless of carrier.

Subject: [MOPO] USPS is the WORST

As all but the eMoviePoster.com haters know, a few weeks ago we made UPS
our "default" shipper, and ONLY use the Post Office if the buyer insists on
it.

NOW, the Post Office has made an announcement that seems insane to me :(

What is it?

It is this:

"nonstandard fees going into effect in January will apply to packages that
are longer than 22 inches, INCLUDING tubes".

What are these new fees?

- Length greater than 22 inches: $4
- Length greater than 30 inches: $15
- Cube greater than 2 cubic feet: $15

So get ready to pay an added $4 for any tubes longer than 22", and a
whopping $15 for any tube longer than 30".

Here are the other reasons I made the change, as noted in this announcement
I sent a few weeks ago telling *WHY *UPS is now our default shipper:
An important message to all of our buyers about shipping methods (be sure
to read this):

As we are sure you are well aware, the service from the Post Office has
gone from bad to worse to downright awful over the past year, and that has
now caused us to *make UPS our default shipper* (we explain this in full at
the following link:*Did you know... that the Post Office's record on
delivery, damage, and payment on claims has gone SO far downhill that we
are now making UPS our default shipper?
*.

We have analyzed the performance of the Post Office and UPS (United Parcel
Service) and we find that UPS does so much of a better job that we want all
our customers to use it, because:
1) UPS has *NOT* been leaving packages (*WITH* Signature Confirmation paid
for) on the recipient's porch as the Post Office has.
2) While we have had a very few UPS packages damaged, it is a tiny
percentage of the amount of that of the Post Office (both degree of damage,
and number of claims).
3) UPS *DOES* pay insurance claims, both for damage and loss, and in a
timely fashion. In the most extreme case yet, we had a $11,500 tube vanish,
and they paid the insurance in full, 3 weeks after it went missing.
4) While UPS's tracking is far from perfect, it is light years ahead of the
Post Office. Packages tend to not update in their tracking for a day or two
at the worst, compared to the Post Office's weeks or months.
5) We have a dedicated UPS representative, who *DOES* return our phone
calls and emails, and *HAS* (over and over) gotten problems resolved (and
often quickly)

*WHAT DOES ALL THIS ADD UP TO?* Effective October 27th, we will advise all
our customers to only use UPS, and *NOT* the Post Office, *EXCEPT* in the
following situations:
1) If your package is both very light (under 4 pounds) and not very
expensive, it will be enough cheaper by Post Office that we will offer our
customers a Post Office option
2) If your only shipping address is a Post Office box, we will offer our
customers a Post Office option, because UPS won't deliver to Post Office
boxes
3) If your package is going to a country where you feel the Post Office is
a much better option than UPS, we will offer our customers a Post Office
option (but know that those international customers who have had packages
sent via UPS have reported it is far faster than the Post Office).

This is all part of our desire to get our packages and tubes sent via the
fastest, safest and fully insured method, and after long experience, we
feel certain that UPS offers this the best, and that switching almost
exclusively to them will result in fewer damaged packages, faster
deliveries, and full insurance payments o losses!

*AND REMEMBER THAT AS OF NOW, JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING IS STILL GETTING TO ITS
DESTINATION, SO LET'S BE THANKFUL FOR THAT!*
