I was hoping that Irene, with her massive amounts of rain, would come in thru
South Texas and thru the San Antonio - Austin area. Texas is in the midst of a
horrible drought and we have endured a record number of days with heat above
100F. We are now at 72 days above 100F. I can tell you that people are sick
of it. We could have used some of that water and Irene could have busted up
the high pressure system that seems to be planted over Texas permanently.

very odd times right now in all the world eh???

well to Imagine the climate alone .. earthquakes, the heat,
hurricanes in regions not normal, floods... the economy.. the
politics..
its all overwhelming.
In my case I have tryed to seek help from God. I am not sure who it
is or
whether he exsists but I have just asked that if he does well that he
help all mankind and earth.. so far I think its the same God for all
mankind , jews , christian, asian, Muslim ,Hindu all are connected to
the same God. As long as we simply Love our fellow
humans and animals and the earth and God. The lords prayer sums up
about all
we need to do I believe..and the mayans and revelation do seem
accurate so far.
I think thats why we are experiencing a Huge change.. and Young
people feel it
the old gaurd of peopel that ran the banks, corporations and power
people are
fighting hard to keep old ways, but their system is broken and so is
many lives
that all can see because of the internet. thanks to gates and Steve
Jobs we all are connected by the net and can see and feel others from
all over... we all have the same needs, food, healthcare, Love and
friendship.. and we all have the same hurts.. love, bad business
decions, greed, lost hope...
the disasters since the 1st sunami back afew years seem like they
have been really building up. the Ice caps melting.. the elnino
almost perpetual
and between the oil crunch, housing and banking,,, just a ticking
time bomb.
at the same time I sense hope... because there are many many people
that want good things for the earth and mankind.. and they outnumber
the ones that take advantage,,, its just like movie posters... there
are a few people that abuse customers but 90% are decent and honest
and basically remeber thats how every other business and organization
is.. there are honest peopel in all sectors and a few that are not so
nice...
I think we can turn around the world by modifying our attitudes and
some simple
new fresh approachs to things.. like the banking and healthcare, and
home loans
JObs are another mess... it appears its the middle class that are
suffering from the blue collar sector... as thats where all the jobs
where outsourced
from... so perhaps with some help in education and loans they could
be put back in the system as many seem like very capable workers,
just need to be oriented/
in summery if we apply LOve and understanding to all the issues and
take out the greed and look at the world as a group of individuals as
Family... we are all really one Big family and we need to help
everyone.
I hope I can somehow be part of the solution... in some small way.
Peace and love to all and hope the east coast people have a safe time
in the Hurricane.
best wishes to everyone in the world.
Tom

2011-08-27 Thread Kirby McDaniel
I'm afraid that wouldn't be harsh enough. I can tell you that I never voted
for him. I thought we
might be rid of him when Sen. Kay B. Hutch decided to run against him. But she
ran the worst campaign ever --
no, that would be the lady that ran against Scott Brown. He (Perry) is a
certified idiot - not bright - and comparisons
to George Bush are specious. [Incidentally, despite the spin that has appeared
recently saying the Bushes
have no problem with Perry, it is not true. They dislike one another.] They
might SOUND somewhat alike, but it ends there. At least GWB was an
average student. I am afraid, however, that in this climate - economic and
otherwise - that people might
go for him. A Perry Presidency would be a terrible mistake for the
Republicans. Awesomely terrible in my opinion. It might
actually mean curtains for the wobbly GOP.

Soon he will start to get a rigorous scrubbing by the media. Let's see how
well he fares with that.

I'm not a Republican, but George Bush was a pretty good governor for Texas.
The governor's office
in Texas is not like the Governor's office in most states. Much more power
lies with the legislature and
the Lieutenant Governor. One of the most powerful men ever in Texas politics
was Bob Bullock, a Democrat.
One of the reasons that Texans liked GW Bush was that he and Bullock got along
and ran the state (Texas was in pretty
good shape after Ann Richards' administration tenure) well. Once Karl Rove
got hold of GW Bush, he changed.
Bush II was the worst Presidency of my lifetime, I would have to venture, and I
include Nixon in that.

The fact is that Perry is little more than a common opportunist, and I do mean
common, and I can GUARANTEE you that he would
line his pockets at every opportunity and manufacture opportunities that you or
I could never dream up if
we had 500 years to do it. Cronyism at its absolute zenith.

Meanwhile, under Perry, Texas - TEXAS - who used to pride itself on their
public school system has
slipped to 51st in public education.

And the jobs creator thing - that is a total myth.

I have slipped OFF my medication and talked about Politics on Mopo. Bruce, you
should be ASHAMED of yourself!
