I've seen some at Carpenter Nature Center, and at Rachel Lilly Preserve,
but they have been more scarce and quiet on my daily walks than in past
years.

Lincoln's Sparrow
Clay-colored Sparrow
Swamp Sparrow
White-throated Sparrow
Several Palm Warblers
Yellow-rumped warbler
Ruby-crowned kinglet
No hummingbirds or orioles yet

Saw two M and 2 F bluebirds at Flying Cloud fields on Saturday morning.  Frank 
Fabro pointed out a female standing on one of the nesting boxes on the West 
side of the soccer fields.  At least 2 of the boxes are occupied by tree 
swallows.

I live in Thief River Falls, Pennington County, and have yet to see a bluebird 
this spring. Usually I see several in March or early April, then by May , the 
main migration shows up.I think they must have run into some of the snowstorms 
further south causing them to turn south again. I expect they will eventually 
arrive, but no time for two broods this summer.

A male rose breasted grosbeak arrived and stayed at the feeders yesterday
afternoon.

Haven't seen it yet this morning,  tho.

Last year I had four pairs stay in the area/ raise young.

Our first of year male RBG appeared at the feeders this noon.
On the west end of Lura Lake this afternoon we found 15 Western Grebes. We were 
thrilled to have the opportunity to observe several pair perform their 
courtship dance for us.
