Create a new one. I had this issue and it was because I had updated the boot
image on the server and once those two are out of sync this will happen

[mssms] RE: ConfigMgr Site Server on Azure Site Recovery

2017-11-15 Thread Brian Illner
Don't want to get off track from the initial point.

CM backup task is irrelevant to it, but I mentioned it only because the first
thing ppl ask me to do is go back and look at the smsbkup.log, which is
completely blank during these hourly site backups.

The issue is that for us, using ASR for our ConfigMgr site server is breaking
the normal operation of ConfigMgr.

Surely we can't be the only MS customers attempting this?

Anyone running CM on a Hyper-V VM protected through ASR?

We're having an issue where the hourly Azure snapshot is causing the VM's VSS
service to initiate a CM site backup. This process is completely happening
outside the CM Maintenance Backup task and that backup log shows no data being
written to it.

This is causing my scheduled ADRs and Software Update synchronizations to fail
as all the CM components stop and restart when the VM snapshot hits.

RE: [mssms] OSD problem - Failed to save environment to (80070057)

2017-11-15 Thread Blackman, Colin
Try manually creating a disk partition on drive 0 so the TS has someplace to
download content to. The drive has no partition on it since it is a new virtual
disk.
!!!WARNING THIS WILL FORMAT THE DISK!!!

Open a cmd prompt from WinPE and enter the following:

Diskpart
Select disk 0
Clean
Create partition primary
Select Partition 1
Active
Assign
FORMAT FS=NTFS QUICK
EXIT
!!!WARNING THIS WILL FORMAT THE DISK!!!

The other option is to integrate MDT and use the MDT boot image and task
sequence which has logic to format the drive if there are not partitions found.

Yes, it's one of the first steps before this error. BUT, this is a brand new
Hyper-V VM, it's not bitlocked.

Which ADK version and which Windows 10 version? If you enable testing and hit
F8, do you see the drive?

For what it's worth, I've NEVER had to insert a storage or NIC driver if I've
kept up with the ADKs.

[mssms] Endpoint errors

2017-11-15 Thread David Jones
We do not have Endpoint Protection turned on but we are flooded with these
2 errors in the SMS_ENDPOINT_PROTECTION_MANAGER status log. Both of these
pop up every minute of every day. These errors show up in no other log for
any other tables. We are SCCM 1702 and SQL 2014 sp2CU7 on Server 2012R2.

1. Endpoint Protection Manager failed to generate alerts for type:"31".
Verify that the site database is configured correctly. Error code returned
is:"0x87d20003".

Message ID: 9201

2. Microsoft SQL Server reported SQL message 22105, severity 16:
[42000][22105][Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 11.0][SQL Server]Change
tracking is not enabled on table 'EP_Malware'. :
spEPGenerateMalwareDetectionAlerts

Message ID 620

I Googled both the error code and the string 'Change tracking is not
enabled on table'. But not a lot of help there that I could detect. I
looked at the table and the Change tracking setting on it is the same as
the other tables, False in both settings.

The error code refers to ADR's There are only 3 ADR's and none have
endpoint definitions.

Any suggestions?

Thanks, Dave

2017-11-15 Thread Daniel Ratliff
Agreed. We are a full Lenovo shop with over 35+ models and only have 3 drivers
in our boot image, one of which is VMxNet3 for VMs.

We use 3rd party disk encryption and have the exact error you have when the
proper filter drivers are not loaded in WinPE. Basically, the disk cant be
accessed or is in a raw state.
