[MSX] New MSX from Argentinia (Homecomputer Collection)
Let's see if we can bring this list to live again! I recently obtained a new MSX computer from Argentinia: the Talent DPC-200. Funny thing is that it was build in Argentinia but is almost identical to the Korean Deawoo DPC-200. The only difference is the keyboard, the Talent has some GRAPH or CODE combinations printed on the keys too for much used Argentine characters. A picture is on my website: http://www.mellema.net/homecomputers. At this moment I have 51 MSX computers on a total of 139. My favorits are the Brazilian computers (Gradiente and Sharp/Epcom) and the Russian Yamaha network. Feel free to send me an e-mail if you found errors or have more invormation on computers (Comments). The developers are Daniel Berdugo (hardware design and manufacturing) and Nestor Soriano (software). In this moment we have already a working prototype and the software development has started. ObsoNET will be a 10Base-T card, Konami cartridge sized and with RJ45 connector. It will have a BIOS with routines to send and receive packets, as well as for basic configuration tasks. The BIOS will be stored on a Flash memory, so it will be easily updateable. There will be enough free space on the Flash so an adapted DOS 2 or any other useful software can be installed on it in the future. Besides, an ad-hoc version of InterNestor Lite for ObsoNET will be developped, which will be compatible with the existing version at the IP and higher levels. If everything goes well, we hope to have an initial release of 20 cards ready for the next Barcelona meeting on october 31th. The price has not been decided yet, but it will be probably around 40 euros. We would appreciate your comments about your interest on ObsoNET, mainly to know whether the quantity of the initial release is appropriate or too big/small. Anyway I've kept a screenshot that I downloaded, and I have the doubt about what game really it is. _ The new MSN 8: advanced junk mail protection and 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail ___ MSX mailing list ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) Info page: http://lists.stack.nl/mailman/listinfo/msx ___ MSX mailing list ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) Info page: http://lists.stack.nl/mailman/listinfo/msx
[MSX] Wich roms to exctract? (Yamaha network)
Hello, Several people asked me for the roms of the Yamaha YIS-503IIIR so tried to extract them. So far no problem, I used getrom.bin and it found MSX2.ROM, MSX2EXT.ROM, DISK.ROM and a 16kB and 32kB rom. I know that the 32kB rom is the networkinterface because it was not detected after I removed the interface. Does that mean that the only rom of interest is this 32kB rom, or are the other roms also important? And how about the other 16kB rom? -- Met vriendelijke groet, Jetze Mellema http://www.mellema.net/homecomputers Nieuw: Yahama YIS-503III R MSX-based network! ___ MSX mailing list ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) Info page: http://lists.stack.nl/mailman/listinfo/msx

Getrom.bin tells you this. For even better information, you can also run MSXMEM.BAS (an MCM program) which gives somewhat more details. Please mail the info and the ROMs to me too!
