Hi all,

I never expected this day would come, but id did. I have to sell my
complete homecomputer collection. This saturday I'm at the MSX fair in
Nijmegen: http://www.manuel.msxnet.org/msx/beurs/

If is fits in my car, I will bring all my MSXes. Today I started arranging
them and made a few pictures of the first batch:
http://s84.photobucket.com/albums/k6/stoppen/Homecomputers/ In the
pictures are the boxed computers, a lone turbo R and (as far as I know,
please correct) all Brazilian build MSX computers.

Tomorrow I'll post pictures of the rest of the computers and games.

Hope to meet you at the Nijmegen fair!

Hello Jetze,

The price is so high because:

1) We use polos instead of t-shirts (polos are much more expensive then
t-shirts);
2) The MRC shirts uses 2 print colors on 1 side, we use 1 print color on 1
side and 5 print colors on the back side. So the costs are much higher;
3) We are planning to make about 20 polos. The MSX shirts were made in a
quantity of 100 shirts. At that amount you get a nice discount.

I hope you understand why the shirts are so expensive then the MRC ones.

Greetz,

SeD_NcL

PS: We print our shirts at Araprint. If you see the discount they give for
normal t-shirts with one print: http://www.araprint.nl/acties.html, you
can

understand why the MRC shirts are so cheap.

Great to see that you're selling these shirts but I think the price of 25
euro is a bit high. Recently the team of MSX.org did the same thing and
their shirts cost only 9.99 euro. Maybe you can contact them for more

[MSX] New MSX from Argentinia (Homecomputer Collection)

2005-02-22 Thread Jetze Mellema

Let's see if we can bring this list to live
again!

I recently obtained a new MSX computer from
Argentinia: the Talent DPC-200. Funny thing is that it was build in Argentinia
but is almost identical to the Korean Deawoo DPC-200. The only difference is the
keyboard, the Talent has some GRAPH or CODE combinations printed on the keys too
for much used Argentine characters.

A picture is on my website: http://www.mellema.net/homecomputers.
At this moment I have 51 MSX computers on a total of 139. My favorits are the
Brazilian computers (Gradiente and Sharp/Epcom) and the Russian Yamaha
network.

Feel free to send me an e-mail if you found errors
or have more invormation on computers (Comments). I'm not planning to create
another MSX Hardware FAQ but am looking for simple comments like "Only 16 kB
RAM" or "Superimposing". Your help to make the site better is
appriciated!

Subject: [MSX] ObsoNET: Ethernet for MSX

 Dear obsoletes,

We are proud to announce the development of ObsoNET, an Ethernet card for
MSX. The developers are Daniel Berdugo (hardware design and manufacturing)
and Nestor Soriano (software). In this moment we have already a working
prototype and the software development has started.

ObsoNET will be a 10Base-T card, Konami cartridge sized and with RJ45
connector. It will have a BIOS with routines to send and receive packets,
as well as for basic configuration tasks. The BIOS will be stored on a
Flash memory, so it will be easily updateable. There will be enough free
space on the Flash so an adapted DOS 2 or any other useful software can
be installed on it in the future.

Besides, an ad-hoc version of InterNestor Lite for ObsoNET will be
developped, which will be compatible with the existing version at the IP and
higher levels.

If everything goes well, we hope to have an initial release of 20 cards
ready for the next Barcelona meeting on october 31th. The price has not been
decided yet, but it will be probably around 40 euros.

We would appreciate your comments about your interest on ObsoNET, mainly
to know whether the quantity of the initial release is appropriate or too
big/small. Happy obsolescence!

Still active, this list. ;-) Me too but not very active. I'm still
collecting homecomputers but business is very slow in the summer period.

 -F1 Spirit (5,31 Mb)
 -Game Master 2 (7,23 Mb)
 -Pennant Race 2 (11,8 Mb)
 -SD Snatcher (13,6 Mb)

 Anyone wants to host them?

Not with these filesizes. Please convert them to smaller files using better
compression or another filetype. If you are able to reduze the filesize to
25-50% then I want to host them on http://www.mellema.net/homecomputers

I sent an e-mail to the webmaster of http://www.sdsnatcher.net on Friday
asking him to host the manual of that game. Still no reply though.

Weird. It seems like some people have other things to do these days. ;-)

Enjoy the summer! (at least, here in Holland)

Just finished Rambo Plus. It's the same game as the MSX-1
version, but with an improved opening screen! Check it out:

 Hi!

My Turbo-R GT disk drive is not working due to its rubber belt. Have you
got
some for sale? If so, please send me private mail.

 Thank you.

[MSX] Update Yamaha MSX network

2003-08-15 Thread Jetze Mellema
Hi all,

I updated the Yamaha MSX network portion of my website. Most important
additions: I've put the roms online, memory layout, CP/M screenshot, etc.

[MSX] Yamaha YIS-503 IIIR

2003-08-14 Thread Jetze Mellema
Hi,

I'm new on the msx-list so lets introduce myself. I'm a Dutch MSX-user and I
started collecting homecomputers a few years ago. My collection is on
http://www.mellema.net/homecomputers and I'm always looking for new models.

Recently I obtained 2 original networked MSX computers, maybe the only
machines wich had a networkinterface from factory: the Yamaha YIS-503 IIIR.
They boot up well and I have a networkcable but not enough information to
make it work. Does anyone know how to use the commands to get the network
working? I made a special page on my website wich shows some screencaptures
with the special networking commands.

Also I'd like to know of other MSX-users who own a Yamaha MSX-network.

Thanks in advance!

Is this game downloadable somewhere?

I have a GT and since yesterday even a ST but I have no software to use the
special capabilities. Great machines by the way!

 Hi there:

Some years ago I saw a game screenshot in a japanese MSX game site that
(unfortunatelly) I don't remember its name or URL. Anyway I've kept a
screenshot that I downloaded, and I have the doubt about what game
 really it is.

[MSX] Wich roms to exctract? (Yamaha network)

2003-08-14 Thread Jetze Mellema
Hello,

Several people asked me for the roms of the Yamaha YIS-503IIIR so tried to
extract them. So far no problem, I used getrom.bin and it found MSX2.ROM,
MSX2EXT.ROM, DISK.ROM and a 16kB and 32kB rom. I know that the 32kB rom is
the networkinterface because it was not detected after I removed the
interface.

Does that mean that the only rom of interest is this 32kB rom, or are the
other roms also important? And how about the other 16kB rom?

All ROMs are important and also in what slot they were located.
Getrom.bin tells you this. For even better information, you can also run
MSXMEM.BAS (an MCM program) which gives somewhat more details. Please
mail the info and the ROMs to me too!
 Thanks!
