Any registered user can add links themselves, directly from the portal interface. For those who are not registered yet, an account can be create in minutes directly on the site. Any MSX material is welcome (articles, files, images, ROMs DSKs, documents, ads, etc). Contributors to the site can send contribution directly to me or using the Submit an Article option on the site. We will retain all credits to the contributor, of course. Take a chance also to review the Marketplace session (in the MSX Universe menu) and the MSX Chat Channel (in the Interactive Tools menu). In fact, the Marketplace is also ready to receive any MSX advertisements. Registered users can post their ads directly from the Marketplace screen. Enjoy the site and thank you for any contribution. Re: [MSX] MSX Fair in Nijmegen, TNI Group and MSX-ALL Portal Hosting offer
Hehehe... Filip, you are absolutely right. I screwed up when trying to explain about the domain registration. ;) However, what I meant to write was: If needed, DOMAINs with ANY TLDs..., as we are able to register domains under more than 200 different TLDs (.COM, .NET, .AU, .CC, .NET.MX, .CZ, . and so on, as many countries have some very unusual TLDs); and of course all of them can be hosted at our servers! Believe me, I hear this question a lot. :-) Nevertheless, in a second thought, would be very nice to have a TLD MSX, wouldn't it? Sadly, I don't think ICANN will ever release it for us. :P Thank you for pointing my mistake, then. ;) Best Regards. Julio Marchi On Sun, 26 Sep 2010 10:40:17 +0200, Filip H.F. Re: [MSX] MSX Fair in Nijmegen, TNI Group and MSX-ALL P ortal Hosting offer
Filip, ICANN is always open for business... Despite of its non-for profit status, it is a business, and people employed at it (including former founders, stockholders and current directorial staff) gets paid - and well paid -! Of course they will go for any opportunity always when money is on the table! In regards to the MSX.COM, on one side it is sad to see that such domain have become product of bargains. However, on the other hand, I am glad that it works this way. I am saying it because, for instance, in Brazil they have a different model for domain proprietorship. In fact, the domain MSX.COM.BR is blocked by the REGISTRO.BR (the only entity that controls the domain registration in Brazil), and no one can register it unless the registrant present very specific (and almost impossible to obtain) documents, including (but not limited to): name patent and exclusive name copyrights for a company that MUST be called MSX. Until that happens, the domain will be blocked and unregistrable forever. What may have happened to block this domain, you may ask? Well, the REGOSTRO.BR is one of the most outdated and stupid managed companies in the entire planet. Those guys don't know the first thing about anything, and are the dumbest bureaucrats you will ever find in history. The aforementioned domain was blocked after more than one person/company have presented interest in registering it yet in the 90's. Simple as that! What about first come, first served rule? Well, REGISTRO.BR seems to ignore it (as they ignore so many other natural common sense internet business standards)! Because of situations like those that I say: even being unfair sometimes, I rather have the model of business when you still may have a chance to obtain the domain you want (even if it becomes expensive), than having to deal with stupid, obsolete and dictatorship companies such as REGISTRO.BR. In regards to the MSX.COM, we will have to wait to see its fate. Lets hope for the best! ;) Best Regards. [MSX] MSX-ALL Team launchs new game for MSX
Dear MSX friends, We from MSX-ALL Team are happy to be the agents that releases a new MSX game. Funnily, this game is already 15 years old, but it was never launched before. In truth, according to author, nobody has it so far. The game is called IronStar, and was created by Paulo Larini in ends of 80's. Nowadays it is being distributed as FREEWARE by MSX-ALL Team. The IronStar ws created for MSX1 and can be freely downloaded at the MSX-ALL Web Site (www.msxall.com). The game is already an old game, but it is not as easy to finish as you may think. Give it a try and it can provide to you a lot of fun! BTW, it is very well made piece of software. This news was also published today on MSX Resource Center (www.msx.org). Thank you everybody! [MSX] MSX IRC channel in MSX-ALL Servers
Dear Friends The Afternet IRC Servers are down, and the brazillian IRC Channel have been unnavailable for several days because that. Nobody knows if the Afternet will still offer the IRC service, and for this reason I decide start an IRC running on MSX-ALL Servers. Now, we (msx users all over the world) have a channel 100% under our control that can be customized for our needs. This channel can be accessed at: Server Name : irc.msxall.com Port : 6667 Channel Name : #MSX I would like to ask for your collaboration on this matter. The IRC Server is now under test but the channel is 100% usable. I need your help to detect possible problems and make it better. The MSX-ALL Servers are very stable and there are already some famous sites being hosted there, such as www.msxpro.com, www.klaxmsx.ideaplus.com.br and, of course, the endless yet stuck www.msxall.com. RE: New MSX Made in Brazil!!
Dear Bosch, I am afraid i can't read it so... :) Is this already build or is this a plan? The CIEL 3++ is being build right now! what is the price(if it is already build)? Gtz Richard Bosch The final price isn't defined yet, but Admeir Carchano estimates it'll cost between US$ 350.00 and US$ 600.00 (it'll depend of the final configuration). Although, he couldn't precise that information now because he doesn't finish the full operational prototype yet! That project is unique, and I think it'll be the most impressive and powerful MSX created (powerful than MSX Turbo-R)!!! It'll be the perfect MSX to run Uzix and access internet (and a lot of great and cool things too) and entirely compatible with MSX 2.0+! Regards. RES: [hispamsx] Utilidades Bert
Saeba and Jose Luiz, Do excuse for my it completes stupidity (because I don't really know technically HD's SCSI of MSX), but would not it be possible to connect it in a PC and to use a software like Norton DiskEditor to edit it physically and to redraft some bytes that are rotten or even copying the content still not rotten for another HD? BRMSX with sound in WinME
Dear friends, A lot of people have been complaining that the emulator BRMSX (produced by Ricardo Bittencourt) it doesn't play sound in Windows Millenium (what also happens with many other DOS programs). As the definitive solution for this problem seemed it was not still found, I decided to research a solution for the problems. I discovered that Windows have a configuration program that allows to include variables in the DOS environment (because to place them in AUTOEXEC it didn't solve the problem), this way, the solution was easy: 1) in the Start menu, select Execute and type: msconfig 2) an Advanced Config Utility will be run (which not is available in no place that I have noticed), go until the Environment and simply add the lines of configuration of your sound card. In my case I added the following lines: Variable Value BLASTERA220 I5 D1 H5 P330 T6 MIDI SYNTH:1 MAP:E Usually these are the default configurations of most popular SoundBlasters and compatible. The System then should be restarted and after that BRMSX (and any DOS programs) it will usually work with sound. And case Windows when being restarted exhibits a message saying that you are executing Windows in the way of Selective Initialization (or something like that), it is enough to mark the item not to show this warning again and press OK (that is only more one of those ridiculous warnings of Windows). Now, the BRMSX is already my primary emulator again. It is EXCELLENT!!!
