Re: Pioneer PX-7 and LD
Is very difficult to find MSX LD software? Yes, with good luck and connections to Japan you may find disks, but they're rare also there. And unfortunately they're also expensive, price varies from 80-120 USD per disk + shipping costs. Bernard tried to find some in the last 3 years and he was only able to buy just one. I do not remember what he paid for it though. But it was not THAT expensive. [EMAIL PROTECTED] said: At http://auctions.yahoo.co.jp I also saw a complete PX-7+LD-8200D (so this LD model also works with PX-7)+2 MSX laser discs auctioned. Japanese people were paying a lot of money for this complete system (I have the pics of the auction). It seems that JVC-Victor also designed a LD MSX system: http:// members.nbci.com/toragiku/kopa/hc90.htm http://members.nbci.com/ toragiku/kopa/hc90_2.jpg http://members.nbci.com/toragiku/kopa/ hc90_3.jpg http://members.nbci.com/toragiku/kopa/hc90_4.jpg http:// members.nbci.com/toragiku/kopa/hc90_5.jpg http://members.nbci.com/ toragiku/kopa/hc90_6.jpg (you can see clearly MSX and MSX2 logo) Please, someone save the pics for me, I have no time right now, and they are nice for FUNet/FAQ. Yes, I admit that you may get them cheaper with good luck, but last 2 years I have seen them the price level has been 80-120 USD... Yes, I admit that you may get them cheaper with good luck, but last 2 years I have seen them the price level has been 80-120 USD... In Akihabara they are cheaper I think, but you have to FIND them... And the LDP is NTSC/110 V and still at my brother's place... Ok, and remember that the digitizing of picture may not work before you have NTSC signal converted to PAL... Exactly. It can now only be used to control the LDP with the Sony. THat is it. I think Iwein is getting his NTSC/PAL adapter or making one or something. Grtjs, Manuel PS: MSX 4 EVER! (Questions? Is not possible to duplicate a LD-disk? Like we do with CDs (into CD-R or CD-RW). The companies that produced MSX LD-disks sold more than 1 copy so it may be possible. The worth of LD-RW device was few years ago something like 250 000 GBP and one disk for it about 800 GBP (correct if I'm wrong). So it's quite expensive to make a copy from disk. IIRC, the disks have the size of an vinyl LP: doesn't fit in any CD toaster I know ;-) I know that. I was talking about a LD-R or LD-RW unit. Pioneer PX-7 and LD
Hello I was wondering which Laser Disc video players you can connect to a PX-7. Only LD-700? Is very difficult to find MSX LD software? Greets Problems? contact [EMAIL PROTECTED] See also http://www.faq.msxnet.org/
Re: Pioneer PX-7 and LD
Hi Ivan, I was wondering which Laser Disc video players you can connect to a PX-7. Only LD-700? According to manual you can connect also Pioneer LD-1100. But I haven't seen any LD-1100 players with the needed control jack. Besides, LD-700 is _lot_ better and reliable than LD-1100... You can get LD-700 players from USA, they're cheap there, but shipping is expensive... If you order any players from USA remember to say that sender TURNS the shipping screw to LOCKED position! I got my player unlocked and it was in terrible condition, I had to fix it 2 days before it runned again... Is very difficult to find MSX LD software? Yes, with good luck and connections to Japan you may find disks, but they're rare also there. And unfortunately they're also expensive, price varies from 80-120 USD per disk + shipping costs. I have seen them for sale only once during 1 year in the www.yahoo.co.jp. Greetings: Saku Taipale, [EMAIL PROTECTED] PS. If someone knows where to get disks, I'm very interested in buying them :-). I have also complete and running Pioneer PX-7 + LD-700 system... Problems? contact [EMAIL PROTECTED] See also http://www.faq.msxnet.org/

Other possibility is using needed converters Hummm. I was interested in a Australian PX-7. It seems that there they use PAL system ... Problem is not a computer itself, "problem" is a LD-disk. As far as I know all MSX Laserdisk software is NTSC stuff. When you're playing NTSC disk you need NTSC player. And if you want play MSX LD with PX-7 you need to superimpose the picture with PX-7. Now you see what is the problem when your video signal from LD-player is NTSC and you try to digitize it with PAL computer... result is something unwanted in the screen. It's not either cheap to buy needed converters for NTSC - PAL conversion. For example good quality NTSC - RGB converter is worth of 80-200 USD and RGB - PAL converter you can get from Sunrise for 55 Euro.
