McAfee Net Guard lookup? (was Re: Spectrum (California) and Xlorenet (Ontario) blocking web access to single /32 here)
Thanks to those who responded offline. The problem appears to be McAfee Net Guard which when disabled, allows access to the sites https://sitelookup.mcafee.com/ When I check McAfee's lookup tool, the websites either show as "Minimal Risk" or "Unverified". Does anybody know if Net Guard actually /blocks /on "unverified" or if there some other threat feed that it uses that isn't listed on McAfee's lookup tool? - mark On 2022-12-15 11:34 AM, Mark E. DNS Qtypes and class values are a social construct
The DNS is an inverted-tree hierarchy, which is problematic and promotes unequal outcomes among system participants. After a lengthy contemplative process we have enacted a system of social justice pricing which will rectify historical inequality. The new pricing is effective immediately and retroactive across all customers. Details - https://easydns.com/blog/2019/04/01/easydns-social-justice-pricing-goes-into-effect-today/ - mark -- Mark E. RBL alert: impending sh*tshow for rbl.orbitrbl.com
As some of you may know, we recently took over ZoneEdit.com and it's customer base. We've found a domain on the system: rbl.orbitrbl.com which is delegated to zoneedit nameservers, broken (it is not allowed to zone transfer from it's designated master), unresponsive (account owner is not answering email, has an address in Sri Lanka and no telephone number), is using excessive queries (~ 500M queries per day on a free dns domain) and attracting repeated, multiple DDoS attacks. As such, we will be wildcarding this zone and setting a long TTL fairly soon. If you're actually using this RBL in your MTAs, now's a good time to stop. (this RBL is broken on 5 out of it's 6 delegated nameservers across 3 separate providers). - mark -- Mark E. Re: Anyone shed light on Verizon blocking pop3 offnetwork?
Good luck. Let me know if you find anybody with a clue over there. Last week we took over ZoneEdit (DNS Provider + mail forwarding) and they started blocking the new ZoneEdit mail forwarders within a couple hours of go-live - almost certainly it's some statistical based block because of the sudden influx of mail from a new IP. Impossible to get ahold of anybody, multiple delist requests go unanswered. Almost considering blocking verizon across everything we control just to get somebody's f***ing attention over there. - mark Jack Bates wrote: I have a customer that left Verizon FIOS when he moved but kept his email address. About a month ago, he says his pop3 quit connecting. I've tested the ports he's using and notice they aren't responding. He's tried helpdesk and they sent him to the abuse whitelist. He tried the abuse@, which of course wouldn't be the correct location. Any recommendations? Jack -- Mark E. DNSresolvers.com shutdown imminent
As we announced nearly a year ago, DNSresolvers.com open resolvers shutdown is imminent. If you are still using dnsresolvers.com for lookups, this will stop working when we shut it down. Check your resolver lists for: 205.210.42.205 64.68.200.200 and remove them. We will be back with a more sensible resolver system in the future, but it will not be wide open the way these ones are. Thank you for your attention. - mark -- Mark E. Jeftovic mar...@easydns.com Founder CEO, easyDNS Technologies Inc. +1-(416)-535-8672 ext 225 Read my blog: http://markable.com
