Re: [neonixie-l] Japanese homemade Nixie tubes

2022-09-09 Thread Paolo Cravero
Hello.
I'm reviving this thread since "yuna" (Yuna Digick) was at Tokyo Maker
Faire last weekend (September 2022,
https://makezine.jp/event/makers-mft2022/m0088/) showing her/his/their
tubes. There is also an extensive photo collection of yuna work:
https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipOLmA7GLNbKZlk8lZF8HnLJIP8VZPCEYdJzQkDdVyh54iPUZzG_vjyeV9Ap8Bxz4w?key=VFVmSUN4eTA4MkZlS1VmRHk3dlBMdHZXb09HYVp3
.

I got it over my twitter feed and cross-checked with neonixie archives.

The text can be translated with online tools, even thought there isn't much
documentation.

Paolo

I have a bunch of 1DP1 and 1EP1 CRTs. They are also rather small, being 23mm
and 30mm respectively. They were used as signal monitors in test and
communications equipment.

I bought a dozen of these a few years ago for a future project, and I've always
wondered what these Soviet-era CRTs were used for. Too small for an
oscilloscope, and very limited use as a text display. Seems unlikely they would
be used for images, because they use deflection plates, rather than a yoke, so
TV-like scanning is a bit more complex.

Does anyone know ?
