Change.org massively scaled images

2014-12-03 Thread Cristopher Dewhurst
Hi all

Does anyone know why Netsurf scales the images on www.change.org to
what seems like several thousand percent?

For example on the recent petition

https://www.change.org/p/new-era-should-not-become-the-end-of-an-era?utm_source=

action_alertutm_medium=emailutm_campaign=192906

pixels in some of the images are about an inch square on the screen so
you have to scroll over large areas to read the text.

At least this is what I get on NS 3.3 Dev Cl#2419, RISC OS 5.21
Raspberry Pi, be interesting to see what happens on other platforms?

thanks,

Error message about Possible Security Violation

2014-11-14 Thread Cristopher Dewhurst
HI all

When searching for vacancies on this website:

p

(click on the search button)

I get an error A possible security violation has been detected on
displaying this page.

Anyone know what's going on? I'll report it using the Website
Feedback Form if it's not to do with Netsurf. (Feedback form *does*
look like it works but haven't actually filled it out yet)

thanks

Re: Paypal - workround

2014-09-17 Thread Cristopher Dewhurst

HI again all

Further to previous email, I've found a temporary work around -- type
in (or select from the hotlist)

http://www.paypal.com/myaccount/#home

after logging in and reaching the screen which no longer has the
links.

Would be nice to know chaps if there can be a fix in the next release
of Netsurf...?

thanks
Chris

 Hi,

There used to be an intermediate screen when logging into Paypal which
had the One Moment or Please Wait messages; on Netsurf this would
be forever but there was a series of links below the message which you
could click on to go to your account etc. which did work.

Just tried to log in to Paypal and the One Moment message is the
same but the links appear to have gone.

This is with JS disabled (JS enabled gives a blank white page)

If there a workround in Netsurf / possibility of tweaking Netsurf to
 work?

Facebook URLs

2014-06-13 Thread Cristopher Dewhurst
Hi all, I use the mobile site (m.facebook.com) with Netsurf but I've
never understood why links on posts such as:

http://www.yorkpress.co.uk/news/11276158.Puppy_love_as_guide_dog_visit_stressed_out_university_students/

turn into something horrendously long such as:

http://lm.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.yorkpress.co.uk%2Fnews%2F11276158.Puppy_love_as_guide_dogs_visit_stressed_out_university_students%2Fh=nAQFw8k0aenc=AZPXMdNOFY5jft7xFZWvoSPStvrU8djNkRBAwOKIq8doXAYlOtrL4URq2aezoNDxStaN79e3VneS85f4-L-6JTw51xN-2OHAu0rap3MdNZz-WZ3zgb6exV5wlYZX11ZMveZkJNiouE27lobN2iqq4ZGWs=1

and a subsequent blank page when you click on them in Netsurf. Above
example is purely for illustration, not that I usually surf the
internet for puppies or even the York press !

Is this a Netsurf peculiarity or a Facebook one? If the latter, is
there a workaround? You don't seem to be able to highlight and copy
just the URL without activating it.

thanks

Chris.

Re: Google hanging

Maybe a temporary glitch with Google, or perhaps something fixed in NS

Of recent weeks I've increasingly found that Google searches are not
rendering in Netsurf, especially when you try to view a second or
subsequent page of search results: the window just hangs there with the
progress indicator moving instead of the usual almost instant return.
Clicking on the same link again to force another fetch seems to be the
only way to get the results.

Is anyone else seeing this, or is it my ISP?

Where do you find the options to transfer to/withdraw from bank

 See, for instance,

Similar problems here: it takes forever to load the page, clicking
close on Netsurf's window causes Netsurf to die and spit out an error
(can upload the Log file somewhere if needed).

This is with JS on; disabling it loads the page ok and lets you type
in your email address but clicking sign brings up a page claiming
you haven't.
