I must admit I noticed a long time ago that NetSurf took ages to quit, but I hadn't recognised it as an actual problem (I thought it was just saving cookie files, history, etc). It now shuts down the instant I close it, much better! Chris

Reinstating my choices file makes little difference to the results, above, but reinstating the hotlist file, causes #1125 quitting to be greatly delayed, as noted in a previous post. The hotlist file size is 93KB, which I would not have thought to be extraordinarily large, and, anyway, #417 manages to write it in 3 seconds, when quitting, but #1125 takes an order of magnitude longer. Would logs relating to this different behaviour be useful? Tony

If it does not contain private URLs, having a copy (sent directly to me or another developer rather than in the open) would be very useful for diagnosing what it causing the slowness. No problem. I've annotated the hotlist save path with some logging and would appreciate it if you would do the trivial test of loading NS and quitting it, and then emailing me the log file. Could this be related to the delayed quit? Tony
