[ns] Installing multiple version of ns-2.
I want to install multiple version of ns-2 in one machine. Is there any harm or conflict in installing multiple version of ns-2? Thank you

Hi I would like to simulate a wired-cum-wireless tcl scenario with the implementation of AODV+. I'm using NS-2.33 in UBUNTU 8.04. The AODV+ include all the gateway discovery method. I'm able run simulation with the *Reactive Method* but got error when I try *Hybrid* and *Proactive Gateway Discovery*. Here is the error: *format_aodv: invalid AODV packet file* Please, I would like someone to explain me how can i solve this problem.It is very important for me. Thank you

yes, you can ./configure --prefix=/prefix1 ./confgure --prefix=/prefix2 then ,they will be installed to different directories. -- YunQiang Su

Dear all, I am locking for a tool or a TCL script to simulate random way movement of N nodes in 2 D. The instruction $node_($i) random-motion 1 doesn't work in my scenario , so please do you know other methods ? Regards

Hello Everyone, I am an ns2 newbee and I am trying to create a wireless cum wired scenario to test a service discovery protocol (SLP). I have done it just like the examplethat comes in the tcl/ex folder in ns2 but i keep geting the error below. I will appreciate any help i can get as i am running behind schedule in my dissertation. The error is : num_nodes is set 8 warning: Please use -channel as shown in tcl/ex/wireless-mitf.tcl INITIALIZE THE LIST xListHead Error!! str2addr:Address 144425951 outside range of address field length 1024 I have looked at heirachical addressing in the ns manual but i dont see anything i am doing wrong. Hi, The error message format_aodv: invalid AODV packet file appears in the following function definition in the aodv.cc file: voidAODV::recvAODV(Packet *p) Simply in this function a packet is manipulated which has a type does not match with any of the case labels found in switch structure inside the function. So, examine those labels (which packets types) and add any new type and call the suitable recv function to manipulate it (it seems that AODV+ has added new control packet type to support additional features, see them).
