Thnx everyone for their help, my nam indeed is working. I am not aware whether I am using a linux server with or without ssh , I m using cygwin on windows XP. Also export DISPLAY=localhost:0 is working, but for this you need two terminals and 1 terminal should connect with the other. I did modify startxwin.bat but I think it isn't starting nam at startup so I dont know the correct way.
