Re: [Boo! Nuno out!] Worldwide Wolves/NSW Wolves

2019-04-07 Thread Tim Sheedy
Agreed - Nuno actually looked angry when Cav fluffed that chance in the
last few mins when he got it around the keeper, had an open goal but
lost control of the ball... And Traore looked very 1 dimensional - run
wide past the defender and then float a cross in for the keeper to
grab... Our squad is actually way too shallow for Europe too - if we
make Europe (which we still might) it will decimate the team. I'd rather
a year consolidating the position on the table - make another run deep
into the FA Cup - then challenge for Europe when we have more depth. To
be at our best today we can rest maybe 1 midfielder and 1 defender (and
probably the goalie) without impacting the ability to win games. For
Europe you need a squad of at least 22 number 1 picks. We have 14 at the
moment I reckon. Don't get me wrong - they are a world class 14 - but
would we be anywhere near where we are (or got to in the FA Cup) if
Jiminez and Moutinho got season-ending injuries early in the season?

The important point is to not let this loss take the shine of what has
been probably the best Wolves season for most people in this group - and
most of their fans. We didn't let it get us down when we lost to
Huddersfield (twice!). The manner of the loss today was what was most
heartbreaking - but still - Watford are a good team who are in a purple
patch themselves when it comes to form, so we can hold our heads high!

One more silver lining - we get a good sleep on the night of the 18th
May :-P

2019-04-07 Thread Matt Leese
Gut wrenching loss that.

I had us to win 2-1 at $9.50 so as the clock ticked over the 90 mins I was
feeling pretty chuffed.

Once they equalised the momentum shifted massively. Always going to happen
in a scenario like that - how do you pick your players up for extra time
after that? Watford on the other hand, nothing needed to be said to them
going into that period.

All to play for still to secure 7th spot, hoping that City final.

Jim had already booked his trip Paul - the semi was an added bonus for him.
Does that count as a bonus after that though?!

Be interested to see how we finish the season? Can see us giving Watford a

The other silver lining is that it's clear now that our bench isn't strong
enough.

Cav for Jota and Traore for Moutinho isn't really good enough

Need a few more players in the summer of a similar calibre to the first XI.

I doubt we will be as fortunate with injuries next season

Re: [Boo! Nuno out!] Worldwide Wolves/NSW Wolves

2019-04-07 Thread kenneth carl fergusson
As a senior citizen, maybe my last chance now gone to see the golden boys
in another FA cup final again or to win another semi.

2 up with 15mins to go and playing in defensive mode!?.Always a dodgy match
tactic.
A complete gift to Watford.
Conceded two goals from not so special shots on goal in normal play. Maybe
not our strongest side!!
Probably Doherty will not be alone in reliving the game hotspots.
Match tactics are golden!
1939 final similar outcome, all over again!

I will have to make do with my vivid 1949 and 1960 FA cup victory memories.
What a side and manager we had for those games.
Ken.

City for the cup, for two reasons. We won't be thinking 'that could have

Signed up also as a back-up, as it is free for 14 days.

Also have it on BT 2 so am covered if one stream is bad. Much better picture on
Kayo if I’m honest.

Fingers crossed and may the best team win.

After a few beers on Saturday I said I would, but in the cold light of day
I'm thinking my couch is the more realistic option.

Particularly if its not confirmed as being shown and so would be a 1am
gamble.

So following on from Saturday's discussion I have been in contact with both
Karl (NSW Wolves) and Alan (Worldwide Wolves).

Karl has put a huge amount of effort into the stuff he is doing and I think
this is something we should get on board with and leverage.

I spoke to him for an hour this morning and we spoke about how we could better
engage and bring Wolves fans together across NSW. My thinking, and what we have
discussed, is that due to geography it is natural that people will get
together/meet etc based on location, but that there is value in harnessing
these numbers in a broader community, particularly online. If there is a
NSWolves website, a Newcastle Wolves website, a Wollongong Wolves website etc,
how much different would these be, how much duplication would there be (effort
and content), how much extra cost involved etc. Let's recognise these dispersed
'pockets' of fans by having each register with Wolves, while coming together
under the broader banner of New South Wales. Everyone would continue in these
smaller pockets, but we could semi regularly get together as a wider group.

Also, there's obvious value in numbers when it comes to things like recognition
from the club (ticket allocation for example).

Have a look at his website - https://nswwolvessupporters.club/. I think its
pretty good. Be great to see some NSWolves stuff on the 'Blast from the Past'
page.

I stressed that we are keen to recognise and preserve the history of NSWolves,
and a big part of that for me is about honouring the legacy of Jim, Les and
Marcus. We'll always be NSWolves. He is onboard with this and says he would be
keen to celebrate this history with website content etc.

Next steps would be to involve Alan from Worldwide Wolves in these discussions.

Before I do that, I'd like to hear any comments/feedback so that whatever we do
is the will of the masses. We're massive right? Well, certainly when compared
to Bundanoon Wolves!

Before I do that, I'd like to hear any comments/feedback so that whatever we do
is the will of the masses. We're massive right? Well, certainly when compared
to Bundanoon Wolves!

A definite NO.

I’m happy to continue as we are as a non-affiliated / unofficial supporters
Club.

This Karl chap is a Crook, who will take advantage of all our long years of
support and be crowned NSW Wolves Chairman.

I normally would say I’m happy to go with the majority but not this time. Sorry
Matt.

Just to confirm, we are meeting at Churchills Sports Bar – Kingsford for the
game?

2019-04-01 Thread Tim Sheedy
Matt - thanks for leading this. I think we should try and join with
them. As you say he is making an effort on the website and blog - and
the blog might give us the opportunity to publish our own posts etc (can
you find out if this is possible)? It might be useful sometimes to put
our own thoughts, stories etc out there - and maybe share some of the
links and blogs/vlogs etc that we use to get access to Wolves content? I
guess I am interested in knowing if this is HIS site or if he is willing
to make it more of a community site?

That said I hate the white people images that he uses on the site. But
that shouldn't be a showstopper :-P
