To install Wine and Npp on Linux, read

   - http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/nppLinux.php

   -

I followed the latter and everything went fine.

- additional Wine information, Wine How To

To install the Npp ConTeXt Support Package's (NppCSP) to Npp/LNX/Wine
(NppLW):

(1) close NppLW

(2) check the installed Wine fonts in

NppLW's \home\username\.wine\drive_c\windows\Fonts

If some fonts you used in NppXP's settings are missing in this folder, copy
the corresponding font files from XP's c:\WINDOWS\Fonts to the above one.

(3) Copy the NppCSP's

(3a) Program Files\Notepad++ contents to NppLW's

\home\username\.wine\drive_c\Program Files\Notepad++

(3b) Application Data\Notepad++ contents to NppLW's

\home\username\.wine\drive_c\windows\profiles\username\Application
Data\Notepad++

(3c) ConTeXt directory contents to NppLW's

\home\username\.wine\drive_c\context

--

If you changed NppCSP's default settings (colors, fonts, ... ) in NppXP, to
copy NppXP's

   - Settings - Preferences
   - Settings - Styler Configurator settings
   - View - User Define Dialog settings

to NppLW, copy NppXP's

(1) c:\Program Files\Notepad++\*.xml files to NppLW's

\home\username\.wine\drive_c\Program Files\Notepad++\

(2) c:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Notepad++\*.xml
files ,EXCEPT session.xml, to NppLW's

\home\username\.wine\drive_c\windows\profiles\username\Application
Data\Notepad++

--

Thats it!  ;O)

Remains...

Making NppLW's console talk with the context minimal installation in
/opt/context.

Any ideas anyone ?

[NTG-context] Textbackground with leftframe

2008-09-23 Thread holzminister
Hi!

1) I wanted to color some text inside a columnset-environment. That
works fine for text that stays in one column or spans two consecutive
ones. But if there's a pagebreak after the first page, only the left
column gets the background. From page two on everything is fine again.
Any ideas how this comes?

\setupcolors[state=start]
\definetextbackground[test][
backgroundcolor=yellow,
frame=off,
leftoffset=5mm,
location=paragraph,
color=black]

\definecolumnset[example][n=2,distance=5mm]

\starttext
\startcolumnset[example]

\starttextbackground[test]
\dorecurse{12}{\input knuth \par}
\stoptextbackground

\stopcolumnset
\stoptext

2) And another question: Is there a way to get a leftframe activated
in my defined background?

Have a nice evening,
Eyke

 Ah, so that is why it is lowlevel. I wonder why the following does
 not
 work.

 \setupbodyfontenvironment [default]
   [em={\italic\color[red]}]

 The em key is a bit extra extra special: it has to be either
 'italic' or 'slanted', everything else is ignored. This is because
 of the need to allow bold emphasis. (\bf\em == \bs or \bi).

 I would personally be happier if it would just use whatever was
 in the argument when it is *not* italic or slanted, instead of
 ignoring the argument, but that's how it is.

 \def\doemphasistypeface#1#2%
   {\doifelsevalue{\??ft\fontclass\normalizedbodyfontsize\c!em}\v!
 slanted
  {#1}%
  {\doifelsevalue{\??ft\fontclass\normalizedbodyfontsize\c!em}\v!
 italic
 {#2}%
 {\doifelsevaluenothing{\??ft\fontclass\normalizedbodyfontsize
 \c!em}
{\doifelsevalue{\??ft\normalizedbodyfontsize\c!em}\v!
 slanted
   {#1}%
   {\doifelsevalue{\??ft\normalizedbodyfontsize\c!em}\v!
 italic
  {#2}%
  {\getvalue{\??ft\normalizedbodyfontsize\c!em
{\getvalue{\??ft\fontclass\normalizedbodyfontsize\c!em}

 however, this does not provide italic correction, so better is:

 \newtoks\everyemphasized

 \unexpanded\def\em
   {\relax
\ifdim\slantperpoint\zeropoint
  \settrue\emneeded
\else
  \setfalse\emneeded
\fi
\setemphasisboldface % new
\ifx\fontalternative\c!it  % \ifnum\fam=\itfam
  \def\emphasistypeface{\it}\tf
\else\ifx\fontalternative\c!sl % \ifnum\fam=\slfam
  \def\emphasistypeface{\sl}\tf
\else\ifx\fontalternative\c!bf % \ifnum\fam=\bffam
  \emphasisboldface
\else\ifx\fontalternative\c!bs % \ifnum\fam=\bsfam
  \def\emphasisboldface{\bs}\bf
\else\ifx\fontalternative\c!bi % \ifnum\fam=\bifam
  \def\emphasisboldface{\bi}\bf
\else
  \emphasistypeface
\fi\fi\fi\fi\fi
\the\everyemphasized
\ifconditional\emneeded\relax
\else
  \expandafter\aftergroup
\fi
\emphasiscorrection}

 which provides a hook, as in:

 \appendtoks
 \red
 \to \everyemphasized

Be careful: this kills the ability of the emphasized word to be
hyphenated!

(... at least here with MKII)

[NTG-context] typesetting ruin

2008-09-23 Thread Hans van der Meer

A year ago I had my presentation sheets typeset with ConTeXt.
Now, USING MY SAME SOURCES, with ConTeXt ConTeXt ver: 2008.05.21
15:21 MKII fmt: 2008.7.5 the severely clipped picture below results.
I did the setup with

\usemodule[pre-general]
% followed by:
\setuppapersize [S6][S6]
\setuplayout
  [backspace=1cm,
   topspace=1cm,
   margin=0pt,
   header=0pt,
   footer=0pt,
   bottomdistance=.875cm,
   bottom=1cm,
   width=fit,
   height=fit]
\starttext
\TitlePage{\vfill\vfill\bf Contents of page}
\stoptext
\endinput
What the could have happened here to cause this apparent clipping?
It does not seem to be in the MPgraphic's used for background etc,
because commenting these out does not change the odd dimensions.

Any idea?

Follow up on my previous post. I could narrow the problem to this

What has been changed here in recent versions? or perhaps better: what
