 doc/context/bib/bibmod-doc.pdf as well as
 doc/context/bib/bibmod-doc.tex are all in the list of deleted files.
 (along with many others).
 I get the impression that nobody knows why.

I, at least, know why :)

The t-bib files are obsolete and replaced by the bibl-X files,
as you suspect. The manual is not included because that would
bloat the zip file.

 Are the new files bibl-tra.{mkii, mkiv, lua} their replacement? If so,
 is there any relevant documentation? (Not mentioned in the list of new
 files.)

The old manual still applies. See also a discussion we had mere hours
(well maybe a day) ago on this same mailing list.

Best wishes,

Hi People,

I'm quite font of s-pre-19 and derivatives, however this fails on my
current system.

Sample file:

\stoptext

Hopefully someone has a pointer? It works if I disable the menu,

[NTG-context] ConTeXt minimals: Issue with file.iswritable and 'Cg'

2009-11-04 Thread Tobias Burnus
I use contextgarden.net/minimals/ and the following problems showed up
after an update.

a) file.iswritable(cachepath) failed. The directory is writable for the
user but not for others. I have not debugged why it failed. Affected
file: tex/texmf-linux/bin/luatools

b) bin/mtxrun failed at line 5013: Somehow my lua(tex) did not digest
the Cg:
protocol = Cg(V(letters),protocol) * P(://) +
Cg(Cc(nil),protocol),

tex/texmf-linux-64/bin/mtxrun:5013: attempt to call local 'Cg' (a nil value)

Any ideas? (I removed the readable check as work around and changed the
Cg to P as quick work around.)

Tobias

PS: I use Fedora 6, which is the dated but centrally installed Linux here.

 well, but it was removed in version 0.37.0.
 OK -- but what does it means ?

To the best of my knowledge, it only means that no ToUnicode values
have been set up using \pdfglyphtounicode yet at the moment that pdftex
(or luatex for an 8-bit font) is writing some ToUnicode values for some
font to the pdf disk file. (in mkiv, such values can be set up via
pdfr-def.mkii)

The warning is not pointless per se, but special ToUnicode entries are
usually not needed at all for latin scripts (AR is smart enough to
solve common cases itself). That makes the warning a bit over the top,
and so I removed it in luatex to avoid confusing users.

Best wishes,
Taco

[NTG-context] Tracking macro expansion

2009-11-04 Thread Oliver Buerschaper

Dear all,

how can I check whether a macro I defined is actually expanded into

\define[2]\Test{#2, {\it #1}}

is there a (Lua?) function like

check(\Test{Hello}{world}, string)

otherwise? If the macro is a bit more complicated than this I usually
get caught by a mistake rather quickly ... so a quick check would be
very handy for me.

 Good point: context/tex/texmf-linux/bin/luatex missed an executable bit
 -- and surprisingly there is a /usr/local/TeX/bin/i386-linux/texlua
 build 915, created on 20071128T092554Z, which gets picked up instead.

 The problem is that running
  sh first-setup.sh --extras=t-letter,t-mathsets,t-bib
 causes an rsync, which removes the executable bit and thus
 ./bin/mtx-update.lua --update fails again.

 Could someone fix the executable bit at
 rsync://contextgarden.net/minimals//bin/* ?

 Thanks for the suggestion to check the texlua version.

If it doesn't get fixed after updating, please let me know. (This time
Hans sent me the binaries via email ... and I forgot to make them
executable. Usually they get committed from the same machine where
they are compiled, so this has never been a problem so far.)

You can check the content in ConTeXt itself.

\define[2]\Test
 {\doifelse{#1}{world}{\writedirect{Test \#1: true}}
{\writedirect{Test \#1: false}}%
  \doifelse{#2}{Hello}{\writedirect{Test \#2: true}}
{\writedirect{Test \#2: false}}%

  #2, {\it#1}}

This is perfect if the arguments of \Test are fixed once and for all.

But actually I'd like to get something different ... (perhaps I
shouldn't have called the macro \Test but rather
\MyMysteriousMacro :-). Suppose I know what the output of this macro
(after expansion) should yield for *various* inputs. Now I just want
to check whether the macro really does what I expect it to do. For
example:

bool1 = check(\MyMysteriousMacro{Hello}{world}, world, {\it Hello})
bool2 = check(\MyMysteriousMacro{Wolfgang}{How are you}, How are you,
{\it Wolfgang})

etc.

Usually the macro would typeset something but here I'd just like this
comparison with the supplied string (without anything ending up on
paper).

How would I do that?

Many thanks,
Oliver

I was using the following macro from Aditya's Mathalign My Way.

It worked great with MkII and old versions of MkIV.

However, it failed in recent versions of MkIV (e.g. 2009.11.2).

Apparently, the \makesectionnumber and \rawreference macros have be
removed.

I wonder if anyone can give pointers on how to fix this.

A cleaner way to achieve the same output is

\starttext

\startsubformulas[eq:sub]
\placesubformula

Sorry, this should have been \placeformula.

\startformula \startalign
\NC a_1 x + b_1 y \NC = c_1 \NR[eq:1]
\NC a_2 x + b_2 y \NC = c_2 \NR[eq:2]
\stopalign \stopformula
\stopsubformulas

\stoptext

but this seems to be broken in mkiv. Hans, any idea what is going wrong here?
