It's possible: say for example that each task rebuild the format at

The same for example for the font cache.

Possible but, I think, quite unlikely. Another possibility is that you

In the first email you talked about a generic label. Uppercase /lower

string.lower(..) and string.upper(..) can help , but they depend on

unicode.utf8.lower()/upper() are a better choice for non-ASCII text.

(I still believe the default string manipulation functions should be
Unicode aware by default, and the 8-bit ones should be an alternative,
not the other way around).

you can just rename/remap them if needed; swapping stock lua and unicode
functions would render regular lua manuals/tutorials useless and also
make lua 8-bit dirty

(local lower = utf.lower at the top of a file is enough to get what you
want)

As wolfgang said this works with mkii and mkiv
\setupcolors[state=start]
\setupinteraction[state=start]
\starttext
\button[background=color,backgroundcolor=darkgray,framecolor=black,framecorner=round]{Go

Search for \setupinteraction for the color of the link

Re: [NTG-context] Changing the colors of a button

2011-07-05 Thread Willi Egger
Probably you will have to group the buttons in order to be able to use
\setupinteraction[color=yourcolor]

You could think about using setups:

\startsetups XX
  \bgroup
  \setupinteraction[color=yourcolor]
 \button ...
 \egroup
\stopsetups

I used this recently. Okay I used a layer for the buttons, so it is convenient
to use setups to organize things. In my case I placed the buttons in the footer
area so I could use the \setupfootertexts[background=TheLayer] and the buttons
placed with \setlayerframed

I hope this might help

Re: [NTG-context] changing number of columns

2011-07-05 Thread Willi Egger
As Hraban mentions it might be best to place the two tables with \placefigure +
startcombination .. \stopcombination.

If you want to stick to the columnsets and this is for this single page only,
then you could place the spanning text in a \framedtext. The placefigure
command must be place right after the \startcolumnset command. This you could
place with \placefigure like this:

\placefigure
[btlr]
[]
{none}
{\offset[y=-7cm]{\framedtext[width=\makeupwidth,offset=0pt,frame=off]
{Zwar werden ...}}}

With the offset you can move the text-box to the position you want it.

 It's not that easy.
Please carefully read the columns manual, linked from the above page.

If you want to change between e.g. 2 and 3 columns, you can either
define a columnset with 6 layout columns and put your text in spans
of 3 or 2 of those layout columns or define two different columnsets
like in the examples in chapter Spanning and More.

Principally you should be able to use the old columns mechanism and
change the number of columns in-page, but I don't know if you can
 make it work reliably.

Taco,

Thanks for your reply!

You are correct, the issue appears to be memory. The system is hosted on a
linode, the smallest of which is 512 MB RAM. I increased this to 1024 MB RAM
and this appears to fix the problem.

Very much appreciate your help.

Is it possible that context or luatex are creating files in a common

It's possible: say for example that each task rebuild the format at

the same minimals or TeXLive, so conflicts may arise.
The same for example for the font cache.

Possible but, I think, quite unlikely. Another possibility is that you simply
 run out of memory?

Hi Willy,

Hraban forces the problem in a wrong way.

I wish the eliminination of the pagebreak after \stopcolumnset.
It is for me not of interest what contents the columns have.

I wish the following:

text text text flow text
text text text
xx xx /startcolumnset
xx xx
xx xx /stopcolumnset
text text text flow text
text text text

and all of that on the same page by using columnset.

Is it possible and if true, how is it possible.

You’re trying to solve your problem the wrong.

You want according to your example two table side by side
at the complete width of the page and the natural way to
do is this is to insert a float which spans three columns,
inside the float you can then place the two tables with
a combination (or a table with two columns).

Unfortunately this will not work with columnsets. Those always use a complete
page. So after stating \startcolumnset there is always a page break, as is
after \stopcolumnset.
If you intend to place text before and after the piece where you use two colums
then you should think of another solution as mentioned by placing the
columnpart in a float with combination.

Add “backgroundcorner=round”.

Overlooked it. Now added. But did not solve my problem. What I mend is that
when I click on the button, the inversion is done for the rectangle. So the
button is displayed correctly with rounded corners, but when clicking on the
button, the inversion goes out of the button because the complete rectangle is
inverted. I would like to have the part outside of the rounded button not
inverted.

I don’t think this is supported but when you’re not satisfied with the result
you can disable the visual effect with \setupinteraction[click=no].

Then you can only normalize your resolutions beforehand (or perhaps using

GraphicsConverter, Photoshop...

I never used that feature and I don't know the answer, but I agree
with Cecil that one should be able to set a fixed resolution for all
images with some command without having to modify images with external
tools.

pdfTeX supports that with
 image_resolution 300
in pdftex.cfg for example (but maybe only if resolution is not defined).

Browsing the sources would suggest that
 \setupexternalfigures[resolution=300]

That has a different purpose ... it's passed to the optional converter.

could work, but it doesn't change anything. One also finds
\setupsystem[resolution=...], but no effect either.

Indeed, that one is obsolete in mkiv (had to do with dvi).

But you can (still) set

\pdfimageresolution

although it might get protected in mkiv some day.

Best one can fix the image and make sure that it has the right
resolution info embedded (one of the tags).

[NTG-context] Centred Figure

Hey list,

I'd like to place a figure on its own page, landscaped, horizontally and
vertically centred, and uniformly scaled to the maximum dimensions of
the page, whichever hits it first, the width or height of the figure.
I'd like to do this within, say, 95% of the page width and height.

This is what I am using so far and it works fine, except the image is
not horizontally / vertically centred, and it is not uniformly scaled to
the max boundary as I previously described.
