Ah, you like old systems! Ubuntu 14.04 and context 2013, what a wonderful combination, back in the days! texfont is still part of the distribution, but you will have to invoke it with its full path. I just tried (with a current standalone), and it still works as expected. I had to copy texnansi.enc into the working directory, and then I invoked perl ~/context/tex/texmf-context/scripts/context/perl/texfont.pl —fontroot=<> —ve=<> —co=<> --en=texnansi Try this (replacing the variables with your values, of course). Hello, Have a problem with commercial font installation in luatex. I have a collection of Adobe Caslon Pro font files: ACaslonPro-Bold.otf ACaslonPro-BoldItalic.otf ACaslonPro-Italic.otf ACaslonPro-Regular.otf ACaslonPro-Semibold.otf ACaslonPro-SemiboldItalic.otf Arthur said that luatex cannot see system fonts (i.e. those installed in Windows), as XeTeX do, so I copied the font to texmf -- ...\tex\texmf\fonts\opentype\Adobe Caslon Pro folder of mswincontext. (It was just my guess). luatools ACaslonPro-Regular.otf shows the right path, so I assumed that luatex can find it. I declared this font using rather naive approach (XeTeX-inspired): \definetypeface [myface][rm][Serif] [{ACaslonPro-Regular}] \setupbodyfont [myface, 14pt] But this doesn't work. At the moment I'd be happy if can setup regular and italic, but have not an idea how to achieve it. Hello list, I'm trying to install new fonts in my texmf tree but at each try I stop at the same point, when compiling my test file: (./type-doulos.tex) ! Font \*doulos12ptrmtfrm*:=DoulosSil at 12.0pt not loadable: Metric (TFM) file not found. I've got this problem not only with doulos but with gfs fonts too, and others. Font installation in the texmf tree with texfont works well. I can compile without any problem the texnansi-sil-doulos.tex file (idem with other files). What am I doing wrong? The question is why is it looking for a DoulosSol.tfm file? Font installation is not a trivial or newbie problem, and you're in the right place place to ask this question. However, both methods fail might not be precise enough as a description of what went wrong. If you're looking for other tutorials, Practex journal 2005 # 2 (http://www.tug.org/pracjourn/) has to articles about installing fonts for ConTeXt, one by Adam Lindsay (on Open Type fonts) and one by yours truly on Truetype fonts.
