[nysbirds-l] Extralimital: NH Redwing

Shane Blodgett and I did the midnight run to Hollis, New Hampshire and were
able to see the Redwing initially found by Chris McPherson on 3/13.
Although conditions were "less than ideal" both bird and birders shook off
the rain and managed lengthy views from 8:53am till 9:56am.
As Marshall Iliff pointed out in his Ebird checklist this is only the third
record of Redwing in the Eastern US. For many NYer's this may be of
interest.

Thanks Steve  for your post. Opinions differ on what these birds are. There 
doesn't seem to be any agreement. What is needed is a DNA sample. 

BTW I placed a question mark (in parentheses) next to the identification of the 
photos I sent to Ardith. Somehow this got translated as a hyphen when she 
placed them on her website.
