[jira] [Commented] (OAK-3240) Allow to copy binaries by reference in the RepositorySidegrade
[ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OAK-3240?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanelfocusedCommentId=14700860#comment-14700860 ] Tomek Rękawek commented on OAK-3240: You are right. I was confused by the {{copyBinariesByReference}} property, which was present in the class, but not used. Regarding the URIs it's more or less done in the SNAPSHOT version of the AEM crx2oak. Maybe we can contribute it back to the oak. Allow to copy binaries by reference in the RepositorySidegrade -- Key: OAK-3240 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OAK-3240 Project: Jackrabbit Oak Issue Type: Sub-task Components: upgrade Reporter: Tomek Rękawek The {{RepositorySidegrade#copyBinariesByReference}} property is not used anywhere. It should allow to skip copying binary contents and use the existing blob store in the new node store. -- This message was sent by Atlassian JIRA (v6.3.4#6332)

If they share the same {{BlobStore}} instance they can copy by reference, otherwise by value? I would like us to factor out creation of the {{NodeStore}} by URI (e.g. path, mongo-uri, rdb-uri) for easy re-use. This would allow to use a consistent URI-like configuration format, which could be leveraged by all command-line tools. WDYT?
