[onap-discuss][AAI] AAI Weekly Meeting Room Change

2018-07-17 Thread Venkata Harish K Kajur
Hi Everyone,

Jimmy is on vacation this week and next week.
He requested from onap helpdesk to get me access to the Zoom meeting room so I
can host the AAI Weekly meeting on Wednesday 9 AM EST.
Unfortunately, I still have not been able to get access to that meeting room.
Here is my personal zoom meeting where I will be hosting the weekly call at the
same time:

https://zoom.us/j/168968291
Thanks,
Harish

Re: [onap-discuss] [VNFSDK]VNFSDK Architecture Proposal

2018-07-17 Thread Kailun Qin
Team,

My two cents below:

1. Dovetail is a generic test framework while robot framework is another.
Dovetail is ideal for VNF certification testing and is currently used by all of
the active OPNFV projects. Meanwhile robot framework serves some other users
and scenarios. From VNFSDK’s perspective, we should allow and provide different
options to users and vendors etc.

2. Based on 1), I think it is reasonable that we have an
integrator/manager available between marketplace and various test frameworks.
This integrator/manager should address the functionality overlapping as
mentioned in Victor’s proposal, and be able to let more flexible test
frameworks/runners to plugin so that different tests can be brought in like
discussed in Kanagaraj's proposal. However for the test framework
“overlapping”, I guess it is more like a different choice related to different
usage.

Thanks!

BR,
Kailun

Thanks Victor.

Team,
As we discussed during our last meeting, we need to take a fresh look at the
VNFSDK architecture, since we'll be using it for the compliance program and
need to make it easier to incorporate new tests going forward. I'd like to
continue the discussion via email so that we can make progress before Friday.
I'm attaching Kanagaraj's proposal, as well.

As I see it, Victor's proposal uses our Marketplace GUI to drive Dovetail, and
all tests plug into Dovetail directly. Kanagaraj's proposal is more similar to
our current architecture, with more flexible test runners to bring in different
tests. I will refrain from offering my personal opinion for now because I'd
like to encourage discussion. Please share your thoughts on these two
approaches (or if you have a different approach) via email. I'd like to
finalize the discussion during our Friday meeting.

Dear DCAE committers,

As the DCAE project grows to meet the new challenges and requirements of the
releases, its code base has grown substantially. We need to have more
committers supporting the project. Fortunately, now we have two contributors
that have gratefully agreed to step up for the responsibility.

Jack Lucas (AT), LF ID jflu...@research.att.com, has been a key contributor
for DCAE code, and an integrator and tester for the all DCAE features since the
beginning of the ONAP DCAE project. He is well qualified for an overall
committer for the DCAE projects. His code and review contributions can be
found with the following Gerrit query:
https://gerrit.onap.org/r/#/q/(reviewer:jflucas%2540research.att.com+OR+owner:jflucas%2540research.att.com)+status:merged

Przemyslaw Wasala (Nokia), LF ID przemyslaw.was...@nokia.com, has joined us
since R2 and he has been leading the work for the DCAE PNF Registration Handler
(PRH) project. Because of his familiarity of the PRH code base, he is ideal
for being the committer for PRH and related repos, specifically the
dcaegen2/services/prh and the newly proposed dcaegen2/collectors/hv-ves repos.
His contributions can be found with the following query:
https://gerrit.onap.org/r/#/q/(reviewer:przemyslaw.wasala%2540nokia.com+OR+owner:przemyslaw.wasala%2540nokia.com)+status:merged

Please reply to this email your +1/-1 by the end of this week.

Thanks,
Lusheng Ji

Subject: Re: [onap-discuss] creating DCAE microservices

Hi Rebecca,

Service component creation itself can be developed independently for most part
(DCAE platform integration requires components to support additional API -
configbindingservice api for dynamic configuration support). The wiki
here describes
various flows involved in onboarding, service composition, deployment and how
dynamic configuration can be retrieved using configbindingservice api’s.

Specific to Beijing release, the deployment information can be found under RTD
–
https://onap.readthedocs.io/en/beijing/submodules/dcaegen2.git/docs/sections/installation.html.
This deployment includes some static service which are instantiated during
overall ONAP deployment under both Heat and OOM. Deploying additional service
components into DCAE platform can also be triggered from CLAMP (provided the
blueprint/configuration models of new service components are loaded into SDC).

To assist new contributors, I’m capturing the pre-requisites and requirement
for DCAE project integration here -
https://wiki.onap.org/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=36963506 (will continue to
update).

Hope this helps to clarify and scope the platform integration needs.

Thanks,
Vijay.

Subject: Re: AAF PTL Nominations

Greetings, Ram,
Thanks for setting up the elections.

I would like to officially nominate for the AAF PTL position.

--- A little about myself, and why I would like to accept the position of PTL
for AAF ---

I’ve been with AT for more than 20 years, during which I architected and
create many solutions including highly scalable Middleware Frameworks. CADI
was a Framework I created to enable clients to utilize multiple Authentications
and different Authorizations. AAF was conceived as an authorization module
from another AT system put into a RESTful interface. Under my leadership, we
refined the concept to the product it is to, also converting it to Cassandra,
and a highly efficient, scalable access model. I’ve been primary on AAF ever
since.

A few years ago, I looked to the future, and realized that it would be better
have App-2-App be 2 way Certificate, but also realized there were problems
associated with this. External ISP signing limited automation, and there was
no clean way to tie the resulting Certificates to the Authorizations already
known by User/Password. Further, not everyone is a security expert, and is not
equipped to get the right X509 setup. I created, with our Security
Organization’s blessing and help, a mechanism that ties in the authorizations
to the Certificate with only microseconds spent on the transaction… by tying
the process of authorization, and making it part of the Certificate itself.
This method, when fully implemented by ONAP, will give both heightened speed
and resiliency to Authentications.

My experience in ONAP and Open source is being asked to bring over the
Production grade AT AAF into ONAP, but not just bring the code in, but make
AT’s libraries “ONAP First”. This work, which you all participated and
helped us complete, was highly successful in a short time. We just need to
help ONAP services work with it.

Finally, I have already been involved with the ONAP TSC (consulting basis)
where I’ve been attending all meetings. I am an active member of the ONAP
Security Team, attending all meetings, and, I would like to say, am
instrumental in providing path forward for ONAP Security in general. Finally,
I have been educating the overall AAF Team on our weekly meetings.

In short, I believe I have the expertise, not only as the originator and main
creator of these technologies, but I believe I have shown adaptability to learn
the ONAP Processes and Goals quickly, and at the same time, worked to help the
AAF sub-team grow.

I would appreciate your vote for PTL of AAF, and hope to bring this project
into as solid a component for ONAP as it is for AT

Thank you,

Subject: [SDC][OOM] SDC Distribution Error POL5000

Hi SDC/OOM team,

Good day,

I tried to bring up SDC, along with other components(except DCAE) using OOM in
rancher multiple worker nodes configuration.

When i tried to distribute the service in SDC, I got the Error: POL5000.

According to the JIRA
https://jira.onap.org/browse/SDC-1090?attachmentViewMode=list,
it is the problem with DMAAP setup, but I could see the following output from
DMAAP topics:

"SDC-DISTR-NOTIF-TOPIC-AUTO"
]}

Kindly let me know, what I missed during the distribute step.

   /michael

Yes, looks like an issue - the "non-author code review" should have been
populated when one of us did a +2 - I even hit the verify (can't actually
verify the partial seed code until we get a runnable skeleton and docker builds
going) - didn't populate the field

+2d, but I don't get the option to merge. The gerrit configuration is a little

this is the only review currently pending, so I can't cross-check. Anybody else?

The process will be to mark the repository as ready only and disable all
Jenkins jobs (repo deletion may not be an option).

We are looking to onboard other analytics platform into DCAE (e.g PNDA and
Flink, both having some community interest) in coming releases. Depending on
how those integration comes along, CDAP can be deprecated.

Vijay.

I had thought there was a formal process to deprecate something, rather than
just deleting a repo, and perhaps that this had to be approved by the TSC.
There are two other code sources in DCAE relating to this; the CDAP plugin, as
well as the CDAP deployment blueprints. Formally removing CDAP would mean
deleting all such code.

I found the cause of the build error though. I had installed "Erlang/OTP 21"
which has deprecated some APIs. Once I downgraded to "Erlang/OTP 20" the build
succeeded.

In any case, if the CDAP Broker is deprecated it would be best to delete the
repo dcaegen2/platform/cdapbroker from ONAP Gerrit.

Yes the CDAP Broker is not a released or built artifact in R2+. I don't know
what the formal deprecation process is, but consider it deprecated since R1.
Probably many things in it are out of date including its compatibility with
CDAP.

Hi Arash,
Just FYI, the R2 deployment of DCAE does not include CDAP and hence CDAP

CDAP Broker code is largely un-modified since R1; looking through the build
report - seems normal and latest
build
 was successful.

Suspect if local setup issue; looping Tommy who could give some pointers.

Subject: [onap-discuss] DCAE Build Error: dcaegen2/platform/cdapbroker ?

Hi DCAE team,

All of a sudden, I am getting this error when building
dcaegen2/platform/cdapbroker. This is supposed to be a warning but in this case
it's turned into an error.
The reason seems to be that an old version of rebar executable (rebar 2.5.1) is
pulled into dcaegen2/platform/cdapbroker/_build/default/lib/meck.
And also, in file
dcaegen2/platform/cdapbroker/_build/default/lib/meck/rebar.config the compile
flag "warnings_as_errors" is set.
I can remove this flag "warnings_as_errors" but I'd rather not touch this file
because the whole "_build" subtree is pulled in at build time.

Any idea how to resolve this?

I have rebar3 & OTP 21 installed: rebar 3.5.0 on Erlang/OTP 21 Erts 10.0

Thanks,
Arash

Do you know of a way to retrieve the ”java.security.Principal; “ without using
the jaxrs library “javax.ws.rs.core.SecurityContext;”
As you know, Due to security issue we need to go away from using the jaxrs

Principal p = securityContext.getUserPrincipal();

So does someone know another library with no security issue to achieve the same
result?
