[onap-discuss] ONAP Wiki Downtime- Dec. 11, 9AM - 11AM Pacific Time #lfn

2018-12-07 Thread Kenny Paul
(bcc'd to onap-tsc & onap-discuss)

As I've been mentioning at the TSC and PTL meetings, the ONAP wiki will be
upgraded to Confluence 6.13. This will take place on Tuesday, between 9 AM and
11AM Pacific time. Service will be unavailable during this time.

One of the biggest things we will get from this upgrade is ability to perform
multi-person live edits similar to a google doc.  In addition, the ONAP wiki is
the only wiki left running on legacy infrastructure in the Portland datacenter
and it will be migrated to AWS during this down time.  The bulk of the move has
been performed already, so the work will consist of resyncing the data,
changing the DNS pointers and then performing the upgrade.

This time has been chosen because:

- it is after the scheduled VF2f and any remaining morning meetings on Tuesday

- the LF IT team will be fully staffed during these hours in the unlikely event
something goes wrong

- it gives LF IT and myself a few days to field questions from the community
before the LF's scheduled office shutdown between Dec 17 and Jan 2.

Here is the status page for this downtime.

https://status.linuxfoundation.org/incidents/gnt4gh2gykry

Please let me know if you have any questions.

 Best Regards,
-kenny

Jenkins also appears to be down (Ofir noted that in the attached thread). So
is the nexus3 docker repository.

Gerrit, Jira and the wiki seem to be okay, although Gerrit is fairly useless
without Jenkins and nexus – you can pull /push code, but validation builds of
course won’t run, etc.

LF IT – aren’t those three the ones that were moved to AWS? Is there some sort
of AWS issue going on?

Hi,

We encountered some issues with Jenkins today.

Build jobs don’t run and the 504 error is showing when trying to load:
https://jenkins.onap.org/ page.

We need to deliver a new image for VID.

Is there any Jenkins maintaining going on right now?

Thanks,

[onap-discuss] Upcoming Calendar Management Changes - Effective Nov. 19th

2018-11-02 Thread Kenny Paul

(Bcc'd to onap-discuss)

This is just an FYI at this time- There is currently no action for you to take
beyond replying to meeting invites.

For more than a year the community has requested management of the ONAP
calendar. I will be working on meeting requests almost exclusively for the rest
of today and probably most of the weekend. This includes changes related to the
items on the bullet list below.

I have a massive backlog of outstanding meeting update requests. I know that
some of the dates have already passed for some of these. If you have been
inconvenienced by this, my apologies.

I discovered on Wednesday that all of the original distribution lists were
removed when the ONAP G-Cal was moved outside of the LF firewall. Many of the
updates/cancellations that I have made and pushed over the past month were not
actually sent out as invites. All 50+ of our weekly meetings will be updated
and corrected.

To complete the transition of the ONAP calendar to the community, the following
changes to calendar management are being undertaken:

I will continue to manage the calendar/zoom for TSC meetings and DDF events as
I have always done.
All subcommittee Chairs, Vice-Chairs, and Community Coordinators will be
granted calendar access and shall be responsible for the ownership of their own
meetings, including the responsibility for any zoom changes that may be
required for their meetings.
PTLs with more than one meeting a week will be granted calendar access and
shall be responsible for the ownership of their own meetings, including the
responsibility for any zoom changes that may be required for their meetings.
The calendar function in groups.io will be used going forward which has a
number of benefits due to its integration with the mailing lists.
 i. The TSC,
Subcommittees and any projects with their own mailing list will utilize the
calendar function within that associated list.

 ii. For the
remaining meetings, the calendar function within the onap-discuss list will be
used.

   iii. All of
these will be subscribed to by the onap calendar on the wiki for a single
consolidated view of all meetings

   iv. The ONAP
G-Cal will be retired
Xu Yang, Michael O'Brien and any additional volunteers as well as PTLs with
multiple meetings will be added as moderators to onap-discuss for the purpose
of calendar management exclusively. (All standard moderator notifications will
be disabled for these individuals)
A new mailing list for calendar support requests will be created to which the
community calendar managers will be subscribed
All of the above will be documented, linked in the wiki and socialized, with
HOW-TOs available, before I turn over the responsibility to the community.
The hand off goal is Nov. 19th.

I am sure that some of you have questions, if you do, please ask them here so
that I can simply transition it into an FAQ.

https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/Calendar+Transition+to+groups.io

Have a great weekend!

Best Regards,
-kenny

Re: [onap-modelingsub] [onap-discuss] Agreements on Montreal offline discussion of Resource IM and Service IM

2018-10-30 Thread Kenny Paul
Actually that is completely non-negotiable; anything discussed in a breakout
discussion MUST be taken back to a general, and fully public subcommittee call
before any decision can be made.

…same song I've been singing for a couple of weeks now. ;-)

***Security Advisory: This Message Originated Outside of AT ***
Reference http://cso.att.com/EmailSecurity/IDSP.html for more information.

Because of the lack of good audio in the breakout sessions (and really, in
general), I think we can only come out of Montreal with proposals to bring back
to the normal call for discussion and approval. Not all key people were able
to travel to Montreal unfortunately. Deng, Andy, what do you think?

[onap-discuss] New Mailing List For Modeling Subcommittee [modeling] #modeling

2018-09-18 Thread Kenny Paul
(bcc'd to onap-discuss & onap-tsc)

As per the agreement at today's meeting I have created a new mailing list for
the Modeling Subcommittee. onap-modeling...@lists.onap.org

All Modeling Subcommittee discussions should now take place on this list
effective immediately.

Modeling project discussions should remain in onap-discuss as they have been.

Moderators for this list are Deng Hui, Andy Mayer, Kevin Scaggs & Michela
Bevilacqua. Please join me in thanking them for volunteering.

No one (other than the Moderators) has been subscribed to this list. You will
need to take action and subscribe yourself to this list if you wish to receive
any email from it. You can subscribe by going here:
https://lists.onap.org/g/onap-modelingsub

List settings are as follows:

All email from non-subscribers will require approval.  This will prevent
spammers and permit cross posting explicitly at the discretion of the list
Moderators.
The first email any new subscriber sends to this list will be moderated to
prevent spammers.
After a subscriber's first email is approved by a Moderator, the subscriber can
send email to the list freely. NOTE: this only applies to list subscribers.
Non-subscribers will always be moderated.
Previous modeling email messages/threads in onap-discuss are NOT being migrated
and will remain searchable in onap-discuss using the [modeling] or #modeling
keywords.

Re: [onap-discuss] [doc] DOC Project PTL Election - Self-Nomination Phase Open

2018-09-10 Thread Kenny Paul
I just want to chime in to provide some background and express my support here
as this is out of the norm.

Given the fact that there have been multiple unanswered calls for a
Documentation PTL I believe that there is sufficient justification for a
process exception to be granted by the ONAP community on this should no one
else step up with a PTL nomination.

Sofia has a long history in open source and would bring some great leadership
with her to ONAP.

Thanks!

Hi,

I would like to nominate myself for the role as PTL for the ONAP documentation
project.

As PTL for the OPNFV docs project and driver for the LFN cross community
working group for docs I believe that I would contribute with good
understanding of open source documentation, its importance, need of visibility
and way of making documentation an important part of the code development.

Best regards

Sofia

Hi Kenny,

I check the list and I see China Telecom is missing from the table.

They are also member of TSC and I guess they should also be qualified as voting
member per the rules.

Are you missing it or there’s some particular reason?

[onap-discuss] [modeling] #modeling Modeling Subcommittee Elections Call for Self-Nominations #lfn

2018-08-24 Thread Kenny Paul
The nomination period is now over.

Your candidates are Andy Mayer and Deng Hui.

37 people responded to the poll regarding How would you like to see the Chair
elections handled?  91.9% were in favor of Chair & Vice Chair (elected via the
top vote getter and 1st runner up respectively)

I will assemble the ballots and they will be distributed shortly.

Thanks!

The "Voting Member" column usage is simple. If you are the person from your

leave it blank.

Who is eligible to Run: Subcommittee members of record (as per v118 of the wiki

[onap-discuss] #lfn #modeling [modeling] Subcommittee Chair/Vice Chair Poll #poll

2018-08-21 Thread Kenny Paul

A new poll has been created:

It has been suggested that the poll taken at last week's Modeling Subcommittee
meeting should be re-run similar to what is being done in groups.io for the Use
case Subcommittee.  The reason cited is that many folks at the meeting were
unfamiliar with using the raise-hand and chat functions in zoom.  I can
understand unfamiliarity with the raise-hand function as it has not been used a
great deal. However, I am dismayed by the prospect that anyone involved in
modeling one of the largest open source networking projects in the world would
not know how to type "+1" into a chat window.  Nonetheless, in the interest of
fairness I will put this poll out there. Modeling Subcommittee members please
respond before 2pm Pacific, Friday Aug. 24th.

Poll Question: How would you like to see the Chair elections handled?

(Note: there is no concept of a subcommittee Co-Chair in the Community Document
which is why that as an option is not included. How the Modeling Subcommittee
should chose to delegate responsibility with regards to an elected Chair and
Vice-Chair to perform the duties listed in Section 4.4.1.2 (
https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/ONAP+Technical+Community+Document#ONAPTechnicalCommunityDocument-4.4.1.2SubcommitteeChair/ViceChair
)  of the Community Document would basically up to the subcommittee)

Thanks!
-kenny

1. Chair Only
2. Chair & Vice Chair (elected via the top vote getter and 1st runner up
respectively)
3. Chair & Vice Chair (elected via two separate elections, Chair 1st, then
Vice-Chair)

Re: [onap-discuss] Should there be a consistency of date formats on ONAP wiki pages #poll

2018-07-11 Thread Kenny Paul
Using // in the wiki will bring up the date picker tool.  That is the easiest
way to get consistency.

[onap-discuss] #lfn Should the use of hashtags onap-discuss #poll

2018-07-05 Thread Kenny Paul

A new poll has been created:

For sorting discussion topics Groups.io uses #hashtags for management.  Mailman
used [tags]

You tag a message with a #hashtag by including it within or at the end of the
*subject line* of the message.
For onap-discuss I have created #hashtags for all of the pre-existing [tags] in
place before the move to groups.io.

*POLL: Does the Community want the use of hashtags made mandatory for anything
sent to onap-discuss?*
this means that anything sent to onap-discuss must have at least 1 #hashtag in
the subject line

Poll closes Monday @ 5 PM pacific, unless it is clearly a landslide one way or
the other.

1. Yes
2. No
3. Don't Care

Vote Now: https://lists.onap.org/g/onap-discuss/vote?pollid=2082

[onap-discuss] [multicloud] legacy meeting invite question.

2018-07-02 Thread Kenny Paul

On the ONAP calendar I have the multicloud meeting regularly set for Mondays @
17:00 pacific on private zoom bridge https://zoom.us/j/9057041886

In our Zoom account I also show a reoccurring multicloud meeting scheduled for
Fridays @ 05:00 pacific on ONAP3 https://zoom.us/j/587662385.

This 2nd meeting is not on the ONAP calendar, so I'm guessing that it is just
something I forgot to clean up after a previous change.

Can someone from the team verify whether the Friday meeting is active or not?

Thanks!

Best Regards,
-kenny

Re: [onap-discuss] [onap-tsc] TSC meetings: length, topics etc.

2018-06-29 Thread Kenny Paul
Input from the perspective of your ONAP Technical Program Manager:

Do the meetings need to be tightened up? Without question. Do the agendas need
to be kept on track? Indeed, they do. Has your PM allowed discussions to go
on-and-on? As it is technically not my meeting, yes, I have.  Does this mean
that your PM is going to become a royal pain in the side of the TSC going
forward on all of the above? You bet it does. (the lack of a smiley here is
intentional)

I have no voting rights in this decision but I strongly recommend against
introducing a new standing meeting in which the attendance of both the TSC
members and the PTLs is expected and required.  I very strongly recommend
against any model where ad-hoc meetings of the same type are viewed as an
alternative to a standing meeting.

The facts are this:

Currently there are roughly 45 ONAP meetings per week competing for time,
personnel and bridge resources.
Our agreed upon meeting window for this massively global Project falls between
6AM and 8AM Pacific half of the year and 6AM to 9AM the other half. There is
only a 2-hour band that is accessible all year long.
If we take into account honoring Friday for our Israeli contributors, as we
should be, but have not been, then Monday through Thursday is our real meeting
window.
We already have 2 meetings a week, (Monday PTL & the Thursday TSC) where
attendance of both TSC members and the PTLs is expected and required. We have
never had a TSC quorum on the PTL meeting that I can recall. Often times we
don't get PTL quorum until halfway through.

On top of that is the ripple effect of meeting changes on the Community.  A
significant amount of churn in created as PTLs negotiate with one another to
ensure that the right resources can be at the right meetings. On one occasion
where the TSC introduced an ad-hoc mandatory meeting, I literally put in a full
person day doing nothing but calendar and bridge changes. My time simply
reflects the tangible cost of doing business; so be it.

The cost to the Community however, in lost productivity due to PTLs scrambling
to negotiate and set up any new meeting AND the time they will lose on an
ongoing basis as a result of new standing meeting(s) means that the ripple
effect has a significant and adverse impact across the Project.

I do not believe that the TSC can effectively conduct business on a Project of
this size with a weekly 1-hour meeting.  The one hybrid option that I will
throw out is the having an extended QBR type meeting something like this:
Required attendance: TSC members
Optional attendance: PTLs & Contributors with the following exceptions:
Subcommittee Chairs, Marketing and Community Coordinators
Purpose of meeting: Subcommittee Chairs, Marketing and Community Coordinators
provide their detailed updates to the TSC
Timing: Once per quarter
Scheduling: Each QBR rotates time zones in a 2-out-of-3 fashion, meaning that
every 3rd meeting will fall outside someone's 6AM-midnight slot.  (I figure
that it is reasonable for anyone deeply engaged in the Project to suck-it-up
for one meeting every 9 months)
Agenda: Specific timeslots assigned in advance which are to include
presentation plus a 5 min Q period
– Presenters would be expected to only attend their time slot during any 12AM-
6AM meeting in their time zone, and be optional during the rest of that call.

My POV and suggestion only. I will of course support whatever decision the TSC
makes on this.

Thanks.

Subject: [onap-tsc] TSC meetings: length, topics etc.

Hi all,

Following my AI from yesterday’s TSC meeting, I am sending this email out.

We would want to make life easier for those in Asia who attend our (very late
for them)TSC meetings on Thursday.

Having said that, we should keep in mind that the only timeframe during which
we can have our meetings without getting into 12 am-6 am night hours for any of
the regions is these timeframe.

One of the proposals raised by community was:

TSC meeting time should be shorten to 1 hour - so people in China suffer less
due to late evening hours. We should clearly define what are topics on agenda
for TSC meetings, and then also:
what can be discussed by some form of active chat (yet to be defined)
What may be discussed in bi or 3 - weekly meetings, which are also scheduled in
advance

The other suggestion brought by Phill during our f2f meeting last week was to
have separate meetings for a different regions.

In any case, further work on the proposals is needed (in case there is a
support for any of these), or, alternatively, a new proposal can be brought to

[onap-discuss] Info on Annual Community Elections

2018-06-27 Thread Kenny Paul
I started composing an email and then decided that my time would be better
spent working on a few wiki pages around the Community election process

· Community Offices and Governance
On that page you will find a high level overview to the elected positions
within the Community and links to other relevant pages, including this one,
Annual Community Elections, which covers the processes for the various
election types.

PTLS:

Clean-up your list of Committers if that has not already happened!!
PTLs need to certify the committers – Should be in the INFO.yaml file in all of
the repos.
In many cases too many Committers were also approved last year
There have been many situations where the Committers have not followed through
on their responsibility to the Community
Anyone that has not exercised their responsibility in over 6 months can be
dropped by the PTL with a simple email to onap-tsc stating so.

Committers
Every year the Community is required to vote on the leadership of your project
– it is your obligation as a Committer
Is an absentee or ineffective PTL impacting your work or the work or the
project's ability to collaborate with other projects? You have a responsibility
to replace them

Hope this helps. 

[onap-discuss] TSC Meeting Logistics

2018-06-20 Thread Kenny Paul
My apologies, but I have had a number of issues getting to both my email and
g-cal to make calendar changes and/or respond to emails.

Today's TSC meeting will be part of the Main Session @ the Casablanca Developer
Forum @ 2:45 PM Beijing time.

https://zoom.us/j/990479778

As is done at F2F meetings this is a webinar bridge rather than a standard Zoom
bridge.

Here are the logistics for remote attendees:

If you want to talk:
There is a 4 -5 second audio delay
Raise your hand and I will let you talk
I will be the only person that can hear the person speaking
I will need to translate any comments to the attendees here in the auditorium.
(remember a 4-5 second audio delay)
Any questions / comments must be kept brief – 1 -2 sentences max.

Chat:
The IRC will be active
I have just enabled chat for all on the webinar

Best Regards,

[onap-discuss] ONAP Beijing Community Awards - VOTE NOW! POLLS CLOSE, 23:59 China Time, Tuesday, June 19th

2018-06-15 Thread Kenny Paul
I have finished compiling the results of the nominations and the polls are now
open.

We received 59 Nominations across 6 categories, which represents 33 uniquely
names individuals and 11 uniquely named projects.

Nominations officially closed last night at 6 PM local time.  I have continued
to receive nominations (vie email) today. Anything that came in after the
deadline has been discarded.

One nomination that came in before the deadline was disqualified because the
justification cited work an individual was specifically doing for Casablanca
rather than citing any accomplishments attributed to the Beijing release

As with the Amsterdam awards, if one person was nominated multiple times in the
same category, I selected the justification that I felt best captured the
spirit of the combined feedback, or provided composite feedback from a couple
of sources.

While the wiki page lists people/projects alphabetically, the order in which
nominee names are actually presented to the voter are randomized

Please honor the spirit of 1 Community Member == 1 vote.

If some individual or project wins in more than one category, they will only
receive the award for the "higher" category and the first runner-up will be
awarded in the "lower" category

Individual vote counts will not be shared with the Community

VOTE for the Beijing Release Awards

Thanks!

[onap-discuss] FINAL REMIINDER- IMPORTANT! ALL ONAP MEETING OWNERS - IMMEDIATE ACTION REQUIRED

2018-06-14 Thread Kenny Paul
(bcc'd to onap-tsc for visibility)

Prior Notices: email to onap-release & onap-discuss June 8, PTL meeting June 11
and the TSC meeting this morning

We are hitting the one-year anniversary of most weekly meetings. This means
that the bridges will be expiring quickly. Some may have expired already.

I need every meeting owner to do the following, regardless of whether your
meeting is old or new, or if you use a private bridge or not:

Go to your meeting page listed under Community Meetings & Calendar

Edit your meeting page
Add the text "Meeting Owner: @your name" somewhere near the top of the page is
if isn't there already.
(the @ macro should link to your wiki profile by default. That is the desired
outcome)

Tag your page so that I can find it quickly
Click the label icon next to the padlock icon
add one of the following two labels to your page:

kp-keep if you want to keep your meeting

kp-junk if you no longer need that meeting

DO NOT respond to this message with any meeting details. If you need anything
done other than a keep or junk, go here:

chosen as list of nominees.  From that Top-10 list the Community will vote for
the individual they feel produced the highest quality code.

If an individual wins more than one category, they will only receive the award
for the "higher" category and the runner-up will be awarded in the "lower"
category

Individual vote counts will not be shared

I cannot be bribed, but for those of you that insist on trying, tequila or
LEGO® are preferred ;-D

[onap-discuss] Reminder and Clarification- ONAP TSC Survey for the Community (ends May 22, 06:00 AM Pacific time)

2018-05-21 Thread Kenny Paul
(bcc'd to onap-tsc)

Based upon some of the write in responses I've seen there appears to be some
confusion about the survey. This was reinforced by comments during this
morning's PTL meeting.  SURVEY LINK: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/VSTF3XM
After reading this if you wish to change your answers before the Survey closes,
you can do so.

This survey is about determining who should be eligible to be a TSC Voting
Member. (see Section 2h below)

This survey IS NOT asking who from the ONAP Community should attend TSC
meetings or be a member of the onap-tsc mailing list.

Everyone will still be welcome to attend any TSC meeting or subscribe to the
list.

Anyone from the whole ONAP Community can and should take this survey.

The TSC Voting Members have already provided their answers. The goal of this
survey is to compare their responses to what the broader TSC Community thinks.

As described in Section 2h of the ONAP Project a Series of LF Projects, LLC
Technical Charter this means

h. Responsibilities: The TSC will be responsible for all aspects of oversight
relating to the Project, which may include:

i. coordinating the technical direction of the Project;

ii. approving project or system proposals (including, but not limited to,
incubation, deprecation, and changes to a sub-project’s scope);

iii. organizing sub-projects and removing projects;

iv. creating sub-committees or working groups to focus on cross-project
technical issues and requirements;

v. appointing representatives to work with other open source or open standards
communities;

vi. establishing community norms, workflows, issuing releases, and security
issue reporting policies;

vii. establishing, maintaining and modifying policies to ensure the integrity,
vetting and security of the ONAP Project code base; and

viii. subject to the requirements of Section 7 of this Charter, approving and
implementing policies and processes for contributing (to be published onap.org)
and coordinating with the Series Manager to resolve matters or concerns that
may arise as set forth in Section 7 of this Charter;

ix. discussions, seeking consensus, and where necessary, voting on technical
matters relating to the code base that affect multiple projects; and

x. coordinating any marketing, events, or communications regarding the Project
with the LF Projects Manager or their designee.

Thanks!

As was suggested at the end of the TSC meeting, I am opening the same survey
TSC Members took last week to the entire ONAP Community.

This is your opportunity to provide completely anonymous feedback on how you
would like the TSC to be structured going forward.

Based upon the previous survey it should take you no more than 7 minutes.

[onap-discuss] Moderators Needed for onap-discuss and onap-tsc

2018-05-09 Thread Kenny Paul
(bcc'd to onap-tsc)

The time has come for the Community to take over the moderation responsibility
for both the onap-tsc and onap-discuss lists. I know y'all are up to your necks
in deliverables right now, so I'm not going to press hard on this until the
Beijing release has been issued. That said, I am expecting to turn these lists
over to Community moderation by May 29th at the absolute latest.

Moderators are responsible for either releasing or rejecting held messages,
including messages (cross)posted by non-members and messages that exceed
globally defined thresholds for message size, number of recipients and/or
content type. Anyone can be a Moderator. You do not need to be a TSC member,
PTL, Committer code contributor, as long as you are active in the Community
. . . and be subscribed to the list you are moderating.

Below are the basic rules for mailing list management across all LF projects:

- A minimum of 3 members from the Community are required as Moderators for all
mailing lists

There are have never been any moderators from the Community for either of these
lists

- If the number of Moderators should ever fall below 3 a mailing list will be
locked and made read only

I hope that you have enjoyed getting a free ride in that regard for over a year
now ;-)

- Moderators are not granted permissions to modify any list configuration
variables.

I've made a ton of adjustments to both of these lists to try and accommodate
your usage patterns as much as I can.

All LF hosted lists will be migrated from MailMan to groups.io before the end
of the year, which will make moderation easier.  Discussions on moving ONAP
will begin in earnest starting in June and I will of course be assisting with
that effort.

Please contact me if you are interested.

Thanks!

2018-05-02 Thread Kenny Paul
(bcc'd to onap-discuss for visibility on the reply and redirected to onap-tsc)

No Gary it was not implemented and since your email popped up as I was getting
to send an update about this,  I'll just use it as a reply. 

There was insufficient input from the TSC for us to follow through with the
down time this morning. As such we are now targeting Thursday morning for this
downtime.

While granted the request was sent out late afternoon Pacific time, when I last
checked my email at 10PM there had been 5 responses. I was expecting to find
additional input over night from TSC Members in Asia, Europe and a couple from
the East Coast when I checked again at 5AM this morning, but there were none.

Unless we hear a specific "NO" from TSC Members we will proceed with the down
time tomorrow to keep from holding up the Community.

Subject: [onap-tsc] TSC MEMBERS Approval/Acknowledgment Needed- Requesting
Nexus3 downtime
Importance: High

(bcc'd to onap-release to avoid cross posting)

When: Requesting May 2nd, 6:00 am to 7:00 am Pacific, Alternative: May 3, 6:00
am to 7:00 am Pacific

What: Increasing ONAP's Nexus3 server's heap size to 6 gig and enable
additional logging

Why: Based upon a meeting today between the Community and LFIT - Part of
ongoing work to address performance issues pulling docker images

Impact: Jenkins and Nexus3 will be unavailable during this time

Risk: Low

Background: Docker image pulls are subject to hanging in mid-stream for minutes
at a time. A recent network fix on the part of our service provider has
addressed bandwidth issues which were contributing to this behavior, however
with one bottleneck removed a new issue has been identified. It is believed
that the jobs are pausing whenever normal garbage collection tasks are
triggered. The most likely cause of this is the result of the heap size being
set to default values which is not taking full advantage of the memory
available. This change will set the heap size to match what is currently in
place for ONAP's Nexus2 server. During this down time logging will also be
enabled to track additional system information in the event that the planned
fix does not correct the problem.

Alternative: Leave system as-is until after the release

Re: [onap-discuss] Schedule Update for ONS

2018-03-09 Thread Kenny Paul
Hi Alla,

the M4 Code Freeze review is on the 29th and was scheduled to align with the
TSC meeting.
Release Planning <https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/Release+Planning>

There has always been a strong emphasis from the dev community to adhere to the
published schedules. I don’t believe that there would be an issue with a room
change, but both the TSC and the PLS would need to agree to any change.

I set up a doodle poll for Wednesday, Thursday, or Monday at the PTL meeting.
ONLY VOTE IF YOU ARE A PTL OR TSC MEMBERI will close this poll @ 5pm
Pacific on Monday the 12th.
https://doodle.com/poll/dcwm23ev8vi2v22s
<https://doodle.com/poll/dcwm23ev8vi2v22s>

Any change will require both a majority of PTLs (17 of 32) and TSC (10 of 18)
members agreeing.

[onap-discuss] Schedule Update for ONS

2018-03-08 Thread Kenny Paul
Just a quick update about the LFN Developer Forum schedule at ONS-

The plenary sessions have been chosen and the Events team is currently
notifying speakers. The Developer Forum schedule should be published on the
LFN wiki by tomorrow. LFN Developer Forum Plenary Session Proposals
<https://wiki.lfnetworking.org/display/LN/LFN+Developer+Forum+Plenary+Session+Proposals?src=contextnavpagetreemode>

If you submitted a proposal what was not selected for the plenary sessions that
you believe would be an equally good topic for an ONAP specific breakout
session, please add it to the ONAP Breakout Page as soon as possible so the
that Program Committee can work on the scheduling. ONAP Project Specific
Breakouts
<https://wiki.lfnetworking.org/display/LN/ONAP+Project+Specific+Breakouts>

The TSC meeting itself will still occur on Thursday morning as usual. Please
add TSC meeting topics to the upcoming agenda page just the same as always. TSC

For ease of facilitation it would be best if the version of zoom you are using
is 4.1.8826.0925 or higher on Mac or Windows.
(before you ask, the new features haven’t been ported to the linux version of

To update the Mac click the update button when you view “About zoom”
To update Windows, go to https://zoom.us/download#client_4meeting

[onap-discuss] Requesting ONAP Program Committee membership for ONS Developer Forum

2018-02-02 Thread Kenny Paul
As you know the next physical F2F opportunity will occur at ONS March.

The Developer Forum on Monday the 26th & Tuesday the 27th will be comprised of
time for both LFN Cross-Project plenary sessions and time dedicated for ONAP
community breakout sessions.

I am looking for 3-4 community members to form an ad-hoc Program committee to
make the selections of content and scheduling of ONAP breakout topics and for
any presentations that would be appropriate for ONAP to share during the
plenary sessions.

Please contact me directly.
Thank you!

Best Regards,
-kenny
