Hi, Eric,
Could you please show us what’s the command you use to get this? Gary did some
sanity testing with this env, it seems fine:

Subject: [onap-discuss] [aai][integration] Bad image tags

Hello

We tested the fresh new installation using Heat and the 2.0.0-ONAP branch

For AAI, we have some pbs due to the bad image tags. The init script fetches
docker image with tag 1.2.2

Pulling repository nexus3.onap.org:10001/onap/model-loader
Tag 1.2.2 not found in repository nexus3.onap.org:10001/onap/model-loader
Error response from daemon: No such image:

Pulling repository nexus3.onap.org:10001/onap/sparky-be
Tag 1.2.2 not found in repository nexus3.onap.org:10001/onap/sparky-be
Error response from daemon: No such image:
nexus3.onap.org:10001/onap/sparky-be:1.2.2
Pulling repository nexus3.onap.org:10001/onap/champ
Error: image onap/champ:1.2.2 not found
Error response from daemon: No such image:
nexus3.onap.org:10001/onap/champ:1.2.2
Pulling repository nexus3.onap.org:10001/onap/gizmo
Error: image onap/gizmo:1.2.2 not found
Error response from daemon: No such image:
nexus3.onap.org:10001/onap/gizmo:1.2.2
Pulling repository nexus3.onap.org:10001/onap/babel
Error: image onap/babel:1.2.2 not found
Error response from daemon: No such image:
nexus3.onap.org:10001/onap/babel:1.2.2

These tags are not aligned with the manifest
https://onap.readthedocs.io/en/beijing/release/release-manifest.html#doc-release-manifest

As a result, it is not possible to download the docker images. We must do it
manually with the right tag.

I believe that we must update the script deploy_vm1.sh to get the right tag
values

Best regards

Eric

[onap-discuss] [so][integration] Integration blocker: SO-658

2018-05-29 Thread Yunxia Chen
Dear SO team,

Please help fix the ticket:
https://jira.onap.org/browse/SO-658

This blocked the health check and Integration’s resiliency testing. And we have
not identified workaround yet. I identified this issue at SB-02 and I saw the
same result at LTab installation as well.

Subject: [Onap-release] Info for RC2 on Thursday

Hi PTLs,

This email is to get the focus on what is expected by Thursday, May 31 for RC2.

1. Defects: The list of Highest and High priority
defects must be Zero. I will send a
status on the remaining later tonight.

2. Integration Weather
Board: update the
page with the color coding for both the “Pair Wise Testing” and the “Maturity”.
The whole page is expected to be green.

3. Pair Wise Testing: update your project page with the latest
information.

4. For the functional Requirements, work on with the following person to
provide update

a.
HPA
(main contact Alexander Vul)

b. Change
Management (Main
contact Ajay Mahimkar)

c. Scaling
(main contact Scott Blandford)

5. CSIT: The CSIT jobs must pass.
There are some jobs failing.

6. Daily Build: Ensure the build targeted for Beijing Release are
passing. I can see some RED job
here. Be sure the RED are not
relevant for Beijing Release.

7. Release Notes:

a. I am in the process of updating the security section of the RN for
your review and merge before the end of this week.

b. Keep in mind that Release Notes are cumulative (all release notes go
in a single file). Release Notes information for Beijing Release goes on the
top of the file. As a consequence, Release Notes editing takes place into
Master branch.

c. It is not necessary to list in the Release Notes all issues fixed into
Beijing Release, but only the main one that were visible externally to users.

d. Once the Release Notes has been merged, have a look on the rendering
into ReadTheDocs. The formatting is not always what you may expect.

Let me know if I have missed anything and we will take it from there.

Thanks,
Gildas

Subject: OOF integration testing

Hi Helen, Gildas,

Following up on our earlier meeting regarding the integration testing, I wanted
to reach out and provide an update on the progress here as you requested.

We have completed all the pairwise testing with our downstream dependencies
(AAI, MultiCloud, Policy), and expect to complete the Northbound testing with
SO in a short while. In order to simultaneously progress alongside the
integration testing efforts, we have been primarily using the vCPE workflows
for our pairwise testing.

Since OOF is called by SO for homing in the vCPEResCust instantiation workflow,
I wanted to check if the following plan for the testing would work:

1. Test the basic Homing workflow for vCPE with minimal constraints
(https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/HAS+%28R2%29+Beijing+Release+planning). This
would, in effect, replace the SNIRO emulator stub in R1 flows with OOF homing
workflow.
2. Add the HPA and MultiCloud capacity check policies, and test with the
functional test cases.

This way, we can start off with an initial but meaningful test and make
progress incrementally by adding more complex policies. Please let us know if
this sounds reasonable.

Thank you so much for your help with the testing efforts !

Thanks,
Shankar.

2018-05-10 Thread Yunxia Chen
Hi, Victor,
Do you have an env for it? After your lunch, maybe we could try it together at
integration lab. Please ping me through WeChat.

Hi, Michael,
We still need you to help us to verify it.

Regards,

Helen Chen

Subject: How to install a "clean SDC" for DM verification

Hi Michael, SDC Team,

As we discussed yesterday after TSC meeting , can you give me
some instruction that install a local clean sdc env for DM verification.

I try to delete /data/CS/* , and restart the sdc-cs docker or
re-install sdc-cs/sdc-cs-init docker, but when I try execute the
docker_health.sh , it should titan is down.

Can you give me some guidance on this? Thank you in advance.

[onap-discuss] [ptls][integration][oom] Beijing Release Integration Test Blocking Issues

2018-04-23 Thread Yunxia Chen
Hi, PTLs and Integration team,

I created a “Beijing Release Integration Test Blocking Issues” page as we did
in Amsterdam release:
https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/Beijing+Release+Integration+Test+Blocking+Issues

The purpose of this page is to track issues blocked by overall integration
process:

1. The priority of this issue is marked as “highest”

2. It is either created inside “INT” or with “Integration” label.

Regards,
Helen Chen

Hi, David and Roger,

Do we have anywhere to list all the known issues for integration testing with
OOM deployment? I know DCAE is not there yet, however, I still get the
following “CrashLoopBackOff” error on deployment:

dev-aai-champ- :
dev-aai-sparky-be-..:

Any workaround for it? I am on Integration-SB-00, freshly installed this

Re: [onap-discuss] [INTEGRATION] OOM Cluster environment

2018-04-20 Thread Yunxia Chen
Hi, Brian,
S3P related testing is planned (mainly) to be done at China Telecom’s lab,
focusing on vCPE. However, we’ll test it at Intel and Tlab as well. The
priority I suggest is:

1. Pass all basic pair wise testing, leveraging vFW / vLB, from
integration team point of view

2. Pass vCPE and VoLTE regression testing

3. The above two could all be in parallel. Once they are done, we could
do S3P testing. Yang has created some script for VoLTE

4. Pass vCPE and VoLTE new features

5. S3P testing:

a. Security, P1 (it is going on, besides Steven’s testing)

b. Resilience, P1

c. Stability, P1

d. Performance, P2

e. Scalablity, P3.

Please let me know what you think.

Regards,

Helen Chen

Have we selected an integration environment for S3P cluster testing ?

Do we have a starting point set of scripts we could use to do a cluster
install ?

We were using ONAP-vCPE to get the vcpe vnfs working during Amsterdam.

There hasn’t been enough resources to get a single VM running in there, so
haven’t been using it.

Hi All,

This is to follow up on the discussion we had last Monday during PTL meeting to
overall improve our approach to testing (pair wise, healthcheck,…) with the
goal to remove the burden on Integration team after M4.

These improvements are expected to take place in Casablanca release timeframe,
not Beijing.

In attachment are the slides presented during PTLs meeting. I just removed the
Caablanca timeline.

I don’t have much visibility on your timeline. Let me know if that works for
you.

I have cc’ed the open-discuss mailing for transparency. I expect people in the
To: to join the discussion but everyone is welcome.

Thanks all for your support,
Gildas

[onap-discuss] Useful OOM (K8S/Helm) basic command for project pair wise / integration testing

Hi Integration team,

I am trying to update the integration version manifest, but I am having
difficulty with a particular file that seems to automatically get modified
every time I do a clean clone or checkout:

test/csit/plans/vfc-nfvo-wfengine/sanity-check/testplan.txt

Even when I start from scratch with a brand new clone this file is modified on
a fresh clone. When I try to stash it I get this issue:

warning: CRLF will be replaced by LF in
test/csit/plans/vfc-nfvo-wfengine/sanity-check/testplan.txt.
The file will have its original line endings in your working directory.
Saved working directory and index state WIP on master: b5529a6 Changes to match
OOM refactoring
HEAD is now at b5529a6 Changes to match OOM refactoring

But git still thinks I have modified it, while I have not. Is the CRLF work
around for this?

I am working on MacOS.

Thanks,

Pam

Subject: Issue to be resolved: Consistent Representation and Identification of
a cloud region in ONAP

Hello Seshu, Dan, Helen, Sarat,
and those are concerned on Representation and Identification of a cloud region
in ONAP,

The expanding to multiple clouds is a key metric for success of
ONAP, and you might already be aware the fact that: With ONAP Amsterdam
release, it is kind of tricky and error prone to onboard a new cloud region
into ONAP for the end-to-end test cases.
I had learned that fact and got plenty help from this community during setting
up a demo of using ONAP to orchestrate the Clearwater vIMS across 2 cloud
regions. So I posted the workarounds on wiki:
https://wiki.onap.org/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=25431491
At the same time, I had presented this issue and the short term
workaround and long term solution to ONAP community during both VF2F meeting
and ONAP Arch meeting. I got suggestion from Chris Donley and Stephen that we
need figure out if it is possible to fix that in Beijing release. So that is
why I come to you and wondering if I can get your kindly support. The summary
of issue and the solutions can be found at wiki:
https://wiki.onap.org/download/attachments/25429038/HowToAddNewCloudRegionAndThoughts.pdf?version=2=1520214136460=v2

To highlight what the issue is and what the help is expected from your teams:
1, There are multiple places to represent a single cloud region
and inconsistent identification of a cloud region makes it is hard to onboard a
new cloud region
2, The short term workaround places another constraint on the
“cloud-owner”, while the long term solution impose the API changes between
VID/SO/SDNC, and perhaps OOF as well.

Please let me know if you can add this as an agenda to your weekly meeting this
week so that I can explain more the details and estimate the possibility to fix
that in Beijing release.

Thanks.

Re: [onap-discuss] [integration] INT-261: Add standard utilities to all dockers (vim, ping, nslookup)

2018-02-23 Thread Yunxia Chen
Got it.

Maybe we just keep as it is (option 1)? Running “apt-get install” is not a big
issue in my humble opinion when we need it. But if Brian and Kang really need
it, option 2:

1. We provide two flavors of containers base, one with tools while
another one without.

2. We use the tool based one before RC2, but after RC2 build will use the
container base without the tools. (Instead of maintaining two release docker
images which creates over-head for maintenance, we only release one.) This only
create extra work for Marco to switch the build base.

(I assume all projects create release images after RC2).

Suggestion?

Helen Chen

Piotr’s suggestion is the correct approach. Where possible, base containers
should be used that are then used to build other more specific containers, with
common tools as needed. Nothing should need to be installed at deployment time,
only configured (via environment) through the process of container launch.

For production use, you should restrict the pre-installed tools to those that
have an essential purpose in a production system. That’s why having two base
container flavors is good idea.

Hi,

I absolutely agree that those tools are a must for development and testing, but
they should be included in Docker/VM images before the actual deployment.
That is the point of environments where there is no access to the internet -
you provide only artifacts that are needed to get the system installed and the
whole procedure takes place offline.

The concept that I've provided below assumes that we decide in the build time
whether we are building 'testing' (with debugging tools) or 'production'
artifacts.

Hi,

In my opinion it's not a good idea to install anything at runtime - for
example, this causes troubles on environments that are cut off the internet or
behind massive corporate firewalls (like the one that my team uses).

For proper solution I would recommend something like this:
* We create 2 ONAP "base" images - one for production and another one for
development and testing (with mentioned tools included)
* We switch the base image during the build

This would require additional work, but will result in much "cleaner" solution
:)

What do you think?

Hi Kang,

Those tools don’t really require too much space in a docker image, so size
shouldn’t be a problem. I don’t think we need to modify the docker images, we
could create init containers in kubernetes that install those tools for the
ONAP components that need them.

Hi Brian, All,

We have a backlog jira ticket asking to install standard utilities to all
dockers.
https://jira.onap.org/browse/INT-261

This issue was discussed at today’s Integration weekly meeting. Some concerns
were raised that it would inflate the size and increate maintenance work for
the production version as how to turn on/off installing those packages. Another
question is that it might not be needed for all the dockers.

There is no doubt that having those tools will make debug and test more
productive. Do you think it is possible to add the tools to a few most
demanding dockers? If yes, please specify a list and I’ll follow up on this.

repos

Hi Helen

regarding my action point

#AP 4: morgan_orange check with Eric on the Orange Open Lab schedule (when
could we communicate at teh community level)

I am pleased to announce that the Orange Open Lab will be open on the 14th of
February after some internal tests currently in progress.

I was wondering if if would make sense to create new repos to manage that

- integration/installation to host heat related activities

- integration/tests to host testing

- integration/infrastructure to manage the different labs

- integration/tooling

Note for the testing part I would even suggest to split it into

integration/functestional_tests (or functest :))

integration/benchmark

having only 1 repo will be misleading

If so my colleague David could push the code we are currently using to automate
the creation of accounts for remote access (ansible roles) to an ONAP rebound.

And I assume it will be also the right place for Tlab owner to share stuff.

is it also up to the integration project to manage the federation of labs, as
far as I understand there is also a comittee dealing with that?

if so I would suggest to reference somewhere (in integration/infrastructure for
example) the IPs of the different labs

in order to easily tune the FW rules and let ONAP open lab discuss one with the
others.

May I add a topic on this for next week?

/Morgan

Re: [onap-discuss] [onap-tsc] Platform Maturity Requirements

2018-01-24 Thread Yunxia Chen
Hi, Christopher,

We are in the process of defining a measurable KPI for the maturity
requirements from TSC on ONAP project level and those will be “spread” into
individual project level. The basic idea is that we will start from use case,
vFW/vLB, vCPE, VoLTE, and with scenarios, instantiation / provisioning, control
loop, etc. to define the measurable KPI. And those will be tested at ONAP as a
whole by Integration team. At the same time, we are going to discuss with
related project to understand their unique requirement and concern, especially
learn from project lead of their thought and plan.

Do you have time next week to schedule a meeting to discuss it?

Subject: [onap-tsc] Platform Maturity Requirements

Jason,

My team contributed the majority of the DCAEGEN2 project code. I have a few
questions about meeting the platform maturity requirements, specifically for
the resiliency and scaling portions.

First, DCAE is a platform, not a component. It consists of many different
components, some of them developed by us, others are open source projects.
When asked to commit to one of the platform maturity levels, we attempted to
propose a middle ground between level 1 and level 2 for most of the areas,
because some of the components can probably meet the level 2 requirements in
the given timeframe, but others will not. This was not deemed acceptable, so I
am trying to determine how complex components like DCAE are going to be tested
as a whole for meeting these requirements. Is each sub-component evaluated
separately? If not, what constitutes a failure for DCAEGEN2 as a whole?

Second, assuming that the tests will be done on individual subcomponents of
DCAE, the resiliency and scalability requirements do not give me enough
information for my team to try and meet them. I had posted a question on the
wiki page asking for a description of the test environment under which these
platform maturity level claims were to be tested, but haven’t seen a response
yet. This includes a description of what tests will be run and what the
expected outcome of those tests are based on the claimed level of maturity by
the component. For example, one way to achieve resiliency would be to have
three copies of every DCAE component. However, given the backlash against the
size of DCAE today, I doubt that will be an acceptable solution, but there are
no requirements on which to design a different solution.

Third, the requirements, as noted by other posters from the community, are
written in a way that assumes a particular implementation. For resiliency,
stating that the component has to detect failure and reroute presupposes that
multiple copies of the component are running and something in front of them
detects the failure automatically and routes to a working instance. The
requirements ought to be stated in terms of the net effects of failures on the
clients of the component or the running system as a whole. For example, a
level 3+ requirement may be that clients accessing a component API do not get a
failure and get a successful outcome in a component failure scenario within 75%
of the mean response time when there are no failures. Stating these
requirements in these terms obviates the need to distinguish between stateful
and stateless components. Those become implementation details.

Some specific areas to address for Level 2:
- Are clients that call APIs on ONAP components that claim to
be level 2 required to implement retry logic upon failure?
- How quickly must a component recover to achieve level 2
status?
- What are the requirements for in-process transactions on a
failed component?
- Is detection of a failure the responsibility of the
individual components, or will something outside the component detect the
failure and initiate a response. (The purpose of DCAE as a platform is to do
just that, by the way.)
- For the baseline measures of failed requests and data loss,
what are the load conditions under which that will be tested?

Most of this applies to the scalability requirements as well, but in addition
it isn’t clear whether components are supposed to detect the need to scale
themselves, or if something external to the component determines there is a
need to scale and the component needs to support the APIs to allow that
external component to request a scale up or down.

Thanks for looking into this.

We’ll start the MR testing today. Let’s run all use cases at least once before
the end of this Tuesday, (VoLTE might take longer), and to see where we are. I
come with the following list, maybe you could add more and volunteer yourself
on them:

1. Install three instances for (vFWCL, vDNS, vCOE) with ONAP at three
Integration space, (let’s use the latest template from Amsterdam branches),
Gary, please use your scripts to do it.

2. vFWCL: Gary

3. vDNS: Marco

4. vCPE: Kang

5. VoLTE: Chengli and Yang

As a stretch goal, we have a minimal set of space configuration, please also

Hi Helen,

Thanks to the help I was given from folks this morning, I have completed the
VFWCL testing, and everything is working fine. I’m going to re-do it from
scratch, and then cover other use cases. But I’m confident all should be
tested/validated by end of next week.
I’m also re-freshing two wiki pages, one to deploy OOM on Kubernetes, on
Rancher, in OpenStack:
https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/ONAP+on+Kubernetes+on+Rancher+in+OpenStack and
one to run the vFW demo:
https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/vFWCL+instantiation%2C+testing%2C+and+debuging<https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/vFWCL+instantiation,+testing,+and+debuging>

They both can look redundant with some other pages, but I trust they are very
straightforward to follow (to David’s point and others).

Thanks,
Alexis

Yes, it does sound reasonable. That being said, I’m very much involved in
finishing DCAE support in OOM. Once done, along with the testing the various
use cases, I’ll sync up with Michael to provide a clear, straightforward
documentation, both for setup and usage, providing tips and ways to debug.

My experience with OOM (excluding DCAE) so far is that SDC fails to pass health
check about half the time. When this happens, the best solution seems to be
re-deploying the entire ONAP again, and if you’re lucky it will work. This
appears to have been observed by others as well. The good thing is that we can
do the re-deploy in about 10 minutes (excluding DCAE).

First impressions:

  * The system is highly dependent in using exact versions of everything:
docker, kubernetes, helm, rancher, etc. If anything is slightly off, things
would break, and it would not be obvious exactly what was wrong. As a result,
it makes the system feel fragile.
  * The SDC intermittent issue above makes the OOM deployments feel not fully
stable/repeatable yet.
  * The OOM “how-to” documentation has almost too much information, covering
multiple options/paths that sometimes overlap (e.g. where to install Rancher
server vs agent, whether to use the cd.sh or manually perform individual
steps). This made it hard for a ne

Thank you hosting today’s meeting and put such a detailed note together. (I
copy & pasted at the wiki page:

With one changes, that Benchmark will have its own PTL.

Regarding the Integration weekly meeting time, my original thought was TSC,
usecase, arc, and Integration weekly are those meetings cover the ONAP as a
whole, we should not overlap.

Usecase subcommittes, 7:00AM Monday PST
Arc subcommittes, 7:00AM Tuesday PST
Integration, 7:00AM Wednesday
TSC, 6:00AM – 7:30 Thursday PST

But after I attended a few sessions of arc meeting, I don’t find much
Integration team people are there. I am fine to change it back to original
Tuesday 7:00AM PST if that works better for everyone.

Hi All,

Here are the minutes from the Integration meeting today (01/03). Feel free to
integrate in case I missed something.

Note I added one item to the list, that is the current Integration meeting
conflict with other meetings. In case we want to move it, Wednesday at 9 AM EST
or Tuesday at 9 AM or 10 AM EST works best for me.

Thanks,

1. Amsterdam Maintenance release testing status

APPC is not planning to release any maintenance version, unless some
high/highest bug comes up. Dan Timoney mentioned during the last TSC call that
he was planning to release a maintenance version for CCSDK and SDNC, but we
need to confirm. Jimmy Forsyth is planning to release a maintenance version of
AAI. He will work with his Team on properly tagging the maintenance containers
such that the Integration Team can pick up the right ones.

Marco will reach out to Lusheng (DCAE), Pam (Policy), and Dan Timoney
(CCSDK/SDNC – for confirmation) to know their maintenance release planning (if
any).

2. Progress and demo for automate the following two use cases
a. vFW / vDNS

Jerry implemented the vFW closed loop automation in Robot. This however works
only 30% of the time of less. It needs to be verified whether there is an issue
with the way the ONAP platform is installed. Jerry will investigate further.
For vLB, the policy validation step fails, so the entire process exits
unsuccessfully. We need Policy Team onboard to verify where the problem is. One
issue that many people have seen is that the operational policy takes long time
to reload in the vFW use case. This means that it may take 20-30 minutes before
Policy kicks in during closed loop.

b. vCPE

Kang developed custom scripts that can be used to automate the vCPE use case.
This doesn’t include the vCPE service design via SDC, which is done manually.
However, once the service is created, those scripts can be used to create
multiple vCPE instances. Kang has also created a tutorial that people can
follow to run the entire vCPE use case. Kang will share the link to the
tutorial with the community.

Kang also found some instability with VPP-based VNFs in vCPE. He’s working with
developers on solving those issues and improving the VNF stability.

c. VoLTE

Yang is working with the Chinese Teams to extend VFC to include a generic VNF
manager that can be used to instantiate generic VNFs. The timeline is Beijing
Release, so it will not be available for Amsterdam Maintenance Release testing.
Helen is also working with the Chinese Teams on some early automation of the
VoLTE use case based on simulations.

3. Beijing release related topics:
a. Benchmark Project

Benchmark project presented at the Santa Clara event and approved as
Integration sub-project. As such, Helen will be the PTL. The focus of the
sub-project is performance measurements. We need the Team onboard to better
understand to what extent they plan to run benchmarks (E2E? Single components?
Etc.)

b. Progress on those automation with Jenkins?

The ultimate goal is to have Jenkins jobs that install the ONAP platform, run
at least the vFW and vLB/vDNS closed loops, and then clean up the environment.
Some of this is already available (i.e. ONAP installation), something will be
integrated when available (i.e. vFW and vLB/vDNS automation). Gary worked with
Wind River folks to create a script that cleans up the resources allocated by
OpenStack during ONAP installation. Gary will provide a link to this script
such that everyone can use it after deleting an ONAP instance. Although these
scripts are in the Integration

2018-01-02 Thread Yunxia Chen
Hi, Jason,
I agree with you that each project should have their own criteria. But after
talking with some projects, I am not sure they have a clear idea how those high
level “definition” could be reflected into their projects, (they need more help
on those); and some S3P doesn’t make too much sense for them at this point, for
example, (let’s also use A), does it make sense to request A to use
metric for updating events if the bottleneck is at infrastructure level,
querying the cloud?

For the security requirement, are we really want ALL calls are “role-based
access control and authorization”? I am not sure all project PTLs have realized
the impact of this one for them. ☺

I will talk to Benchmark team to see what they could do for Beijing release.

Hi Helen,

Those details have not been defined. The thought was for many of the criteria
that the individual projects are in the best position to identify criteria
appropriate to their project.

So, for performance, as an example, maybe SO would identify and measure a
criteria around request handling time, whereas AAI might use a metric around
events received per second. (These are just examples).

For stability, each project should identify & create the appropriate test
transactions that would exercise 80% of their code. Then those tests would be
run over a 72 hour period & monitored for any component failures.

My hope is that the Benchmark team will be able to assist the project teams
with the performance and stability testing.

For resiliency, the level 2 criteria just says that there has to be automated
failure detection and rerouting with no other qualifications on how
"gracefully" that occurs. For that level, the teams should just gather how
many requests are lost when failure happens under load (for stateless
components), and gather what sort of data loss occurs when failure happens
under load (for stateful components).

Hi, Jason,

Thanks for the fast turnaround. I am looking for something more concrete and
specific, for example,
Performance: What exactly the criteria identified?
• Speed of service provisioning?
• How many particular operations can be processed in a second?
• How many concurrent operations can be run in parallel without
degradation?
Stability:
• Longevity tests? 72 hours? … What does 72 hour platform level soak
w/random transactions mean here?
• Resilience tests: verify graceful crash recovery??

If those are not defined yet, I suggest that we could have a small group of
people to follow up and discuss them.

Re: [onap-discuss] [integration] ONAP S3P definition and matrix

2018-01-02 Thread Yunxia Chen
Hi, Jason,

Thanks for the fast turnaround. I am looking for something more concrete and
specific, for example,
Performance: What exactly the criteria identified?

· Speed of service provisioning?

· How many particular operations can be processed in a second?

· How many concurrent operations can be run in parallel without
degradation?
Stability:

· Longevity tests? 72 hours? … What does 72 hour platform level soak
w/random transactions mean here?

· Resilience tests: verify graceful crash recovery??

If those are not defined yet, I suggest that we could have a small group of
people to follow up and discuss them.

Regards,

Helen Chen

[onap-discuss] [integration][dcae] ONAP instance in DCAE tenant

2017-12-08 Thread Yunxia Chen
Hi, Lusheng,
Are you testing anything in DCAE tenant? I saw a full stack of ONAP, but it was
from 1+ month or two weeks ago. If not, could you please delete or stop them,
we are running out of resource in Integration lab.

Re: [onap-discuss] [Integration] Important reminder on Open Lab usage

2017-12-08 Thread Yunxia Chen
Hi, Alexis,
Thanks for letting us know that. We are working on getting more resource. One
ONAP HEAT stack in OOM tenant should be fine at this moment unless we run into
issues again: we hope to have a smooth demo for next week.

Do you also use those instances in “Integration” tenant? I asked a few times,
no one response, if I still don’t hear anything by the end of today, I will
clean Integration space.

Helen Chen

Hi,

I’ve just spawn a full ONAP HEAT stack within the OOM tenant so I can properly
make OOM works.
If resources are missing, I could delete my stack and re-create it later.
But keep in mind it is very important for OOM to have feature parity with the
HEAT setup ASAP so (non)official OOM Amsterdam branch can be created and
documented for external consumer.

Thanks,
Alexis

As you can see there is no action point, but usually there are, and we start
the meeting by the follow-up of such action points
there is no way to force people to work, but when they have precise action
point in public minutes meeting, it can be motivating...

according to me, such minutes are much easier to read than watching a video
it allows to follow offline (when timetable is not reasonable for attendees)
it gives an history of the progress

Subject: SDNC VM & Docker Containers Unstable
Time: 2017-11-21 05:59:44

Hi All,

We are working to bring up the vFW demo. For that we are using demo.sh init to
create customer and distribute service. After that using VID for further steps.

While doing so we have seen the below 3 issues.

  1. Space of SDNC VM's '/' mount point fills completely at some point
  2. Docker containers are exiting randomly. We see mysql, dgbuilder and
admportal containers exiting at varied instances
  3. admportal becomes unreachable

1. Received "refused to connect" error

2. On debugging further found that start_portal.sh is stuck at the
following, which was not seen before (Please see start_install.png):

+ cd /opt/onap/sdnc/admportal
+ npm install
npm WARN deprecated node-uuid@1.4.8: Use uuid module instead
loadDep:type-is > networ /
|---|

Has anyone seen these issues before? Really appreciate any pointers to solve
these issues.

Following JIRA ticket is raised for the same:
https://jira.onap.org/browse/SDNC-203

Thanks,
Arun

主题: [onap-tsc] Official ONAP Architecture Slide

As was pointed out in Paris there are too many variations of the Amsterdam
architecture which is bad to say the least.
The officially approved image for the Amsterdam Architecture and be found here:
https://wiki.onap.org/download/attachments/1015842/ONAP%20Amsterdam%20arch.png?api=v2

In preparation for the release announcement here is what we are asking in order
of priority:

-If an archecture image is referecned in your official readthedocs
documentation, please use this image

-If an archecture image is referenced in your wiki pages, please add the URL
above to reference the the image.

-If an archecture image is referecned in a presentation slide deck, please
ensure you use this image.

I am intentionally NOT distributing it because that is how we ended up with so
many versions in the first place. :-)

Thanks!

[onap-discuss] [integration][openlabs][ptls] Use Integration Lab efficiently

2017-11-08 Thread Yunxia Chen
Hi,
Thanks for actively using Integration Lab for all related integration testing:
we currently have 320+ VMs running in Integration Lab: that is a very good
sign! However, they consumed almost all our 2.8 TB memory and it impacted other
higher priority integration testing. Before 11/16/2017, I would suggest that:
please delete your stack or at least shut down your VMs if you are not actively
testing

Regards,
Helen Chen

Lets start with the basic POSTMAN assuming we have the model-invariant-uuid and
can put that in the right place in the url/body.

The test team will actually run the POSTMAN/curl to create the operational
policy before they start testing.

So can we get an example template for the create ?

Of course operational policy at design time should contain the right data from
the start .. but you don’t have CLAMP so the “official” sequence of operations
is just not happening here .. Just suggesting possibilities to make progress
in runtime use case testing, in any case, I agree is better to just change the
policy, just providing options to the testing team to test runtime.

Re: [onap-discuss] [integration][policy]Need help from Policy now

2017-11-02 Thread Yunxia Chen
Thank you Pam being flexible.

I created a working session on this one at 8:00AM PDT after TSC meeting. I
invited both Policy and DCAE team.

Regards,

Helen Chen

Yes that’s fine, if DCAE successfully does an A lookup for the VNF then all
those fields are populated. If not, then we expect only vnf-name to be there.
Which I don’t think is our problem, but we will confirm that.

I *think* the issue is that we must do an A lookup to get the vnf-id for the
vpg VNF so we can tell APPC to ModifyConfig for that specific VNF.

I hope that is clear. I will try to be available as much as possible today.

Thanks,

Pam

Hi, Pam,
From the policy log, it looks like it has both vnf-id and vnf-name:
  "generic-vnf.vnf-name": "demovnfVFW110103",
"generic-vnf.model-version-id": "fead6cbe-a374-49ef-9245-4a2bd18d8d7b",
"generic-vnf.model-customization-id":
"977921fb-8e6f-427d-9a0a-2b98bbfdb8c7",
"generic-vnf.nf-function": "",
"generic-vnf.vnf-type": "demoVFW/374fbfc3-b7fd-4f00-9792 0",
"generic-vnf.model-invariant-id": "5f492678-c2e3-4385-a16a-1e781756ce1c",
"generic-vnf.vnf-id": "6e3b0069-a760-4ee4-851d-b80fe2dd8562"

But I didn’t look into the code. If you like we could have a debug session
after the TSC. (Before that, you could also check the deployment at
Integration-SB-00)

Helen Chen

Helen,

That is not necessarily true. We will look at the logs to be sure but my
suspicion is that the call to A to find the vnf-id for the VPG fails because
the resourceID in the Operational Policy is incorrect. Please recall that the
event comes from a different vnf than what an action will be performed on.

As I have mentioned before, the Operational Policy for vFW that is pushed from
the Policy docker image isn’t up-to-date and we cannot possibly predict what
the resourceID is for the ModifyConfig call. We have been asking for help from
the Integration team for a few weeks on what the value is. What does the
onboarded vFW service look like in the catalog? Are they pre-generated? If not,
then without CLAMP in the picture then the Integration team or Robot scripts
need to re-create the Operational Policy.

Should I open a ticket on the Integration team in order to get this help
prioritized?

Thanks,

Pam

From the following message inside Policy’s log file:
"policyScope": "com",
  "policyName": "com.Config_BRMS_Param_BRMSParamvFirewall.EVENT.MANAGER",
  "policyVersion": "1",
  "notification": "FINAL: FAILURE",
"message": "Target vnf-id could not be found",
  "notificationTime": "2017-11-02 03:03:07.643000+00:00",
  "history": []

It looks vnf-id, but DCAE gives it vnf-name.
