2020-08-20 Thread Floyd, Angelia Lynn
There is a bug report about the missing tab in the Local Administration Menu
for the Holdings Template Editor.
https://bugs.launchpad.net/evergreen/+bug/1892381

Now for the bug about not being able to set these Globally.

This is an EXTERNAL email. Exercise caution. DO NOT open attachments or

The one place they are consistently is with the Holdings Template Editor within
the Holdings Editor.

This has to be set per workstation, there has not been anywhere I can find to
set this globally currently.

This is also depending on which version of Evergreen you are using. In 3.2 and
before there was a default tab with in the Holdings Template Editor in Local
Administration.
In 3.3 + the default tab is only there when you access the Template Editor with
in the Holdings Editor.

I am placing a Bug report about this as we discuss this.

Hi,

I'm intrigued by this library setting. It would be useful to set this up for
our libraries to hide fields we don't use instead of counting on library staff
to remember to uncheck the fields in the Volume Copy Editor on the Defaults
tab, workstation by workstation.

We had an incident where a staff member didn't hide/disable the Deposit Amount
field and accidentally put the price of the item in that field instead of in
the price field, then was weirded out by an error message that popped up when
trying to circulate the item. If I could get the library setting to work, we'd
avoid situations like this.

The instructions for this setting say " This setting may be best maintained
with the dedicated configuration interface within the Item Attribute Editor.
However, here it shows up as comma separated list of field identifiers to hide.
"

The documentation Chapter 14 Settings Overview says, " Sets which fields in the
Item Attribute Editor to hide in the staff client." and adds " This is useful
to hide attributes that are not used.
http://docs.evergreen-ils.org/reorg/3.1/staff_client_admin/_settings_overview.html

Where I'm lost is the text of the field identifiers to enter. I've tried column
names from asset.copy, but have had no luck.

Also, can I set this consortium wide, or do I need to set it library by library?

I appreciate any guidance.

Mary

Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Scannable barcode font in web client receipts

2020-06-09 Thread Floyd, Angelia Lynn
There are a couple of things to remember about printing barcodes on receipts.
All printed barcodes have start and stop digits. These digits are not part of
the number but must be part of the printed barcode. Printing barcodes will not
work with out them.

The other major thing is that the barcode font you are using will need to be
added on every computer that you are printing them at. OR the receipt printer
cannot translate the barcode.

B{{patron.card.barcode}}D .

In the example above I use the font: CodabarMedium, and you will notice the
“B” and “D” around the Patron’s barcode.

Good morning,

Is anybody using scannable barcodes in receipts in the web client?

I had been using them in the past (XUL client) but after upgrading to the web
client, creating new receipt templates did not seem to work. Currently running
3.4.

There is interest in scannable barcodes to streamline contactless pick up
services.

Thanks!

Hi Lynn,

We've done some work with Conversight at KCLS. In our case, they are using
standard Evergreen APIs via the osrf-gateway-v1 and a Supercat feed for MARC
records. This should not require any local changes.

We did create one small API tweak to support a certain work flow for them
(including lost items in a certain patron items out call) that I'd be happy to
share.

Hello, We just upgraded from 2.10 to 3.3 last weekend, and we are currently
working through all our documentation to get ready to switch to the web client.

I'm working on setting up our receipt templates for transit and hold slips.
And I'm noticing when I try to use the css "text-orientation: upright ;
writing-mode: vertical-rl;" to create vertical stacked text, it is just ignored
when printing, but only when I'm printing through hatch. If I use browser
printing, it works fine.

So is hatch rendering the print jobs when it is used? And is there a list of
what CSS it doesn't support?
