[OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] F8 for Retrieve Last Patron stopped working
Hello Everyone, SPARK Libraries report that the F8 is not working to retrieve the last patron. We did an update last week and probably lost it then. Has anyone else encountered this and perhaps have a way to get it back? [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Lockers to Pick Up Items
Hello, I have a library that is interested in setting up lockers outside their library for patrons to pick up items. They were wondering if there was a workflow in Evergreen to support this practice. Some thoughts were to set up an another org_unit as a pick up location but it would result in staff having to switch locations to capture holds etc. They need someway for the staff to be able to see what should be routed to the lockers and then they are thinking they will check out the items before putting them into a locker. Any thoughts on some other workflow ideas? Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Hot spots
Some libraries in PaILS/SPARK lend them out for 1 week. They are pretty much always on reserve and never sit on the shelf for a casual check out. There are a few learning curves: * A few libraries have a system in place to have the data plan on the unit deactivated when it is 1 day overdue to get it returned. Patrons were more willing to return a useless brick * One library has several different models and troubleshooting issues over the phone became a bit challenging. Reference staff had to figure out which model they were dealing with first * Power cords and a/c adapters went missing or were "replaced" by patrons. * Choosing the best Tupperware container to circulate them in is a fun hour in the grocery store Jennifer Bruch ILS Application Specialist Pennsylvania Integrated Library System 717-818-2703 supp...@sparkpa.org Submit a SPARK Support Request<https://sparkpa.helpspot.com/index.php?pg=request> From: Open-ils-general on behalf of Diane Disbro Sent: Sunday, June 21, 2020 7:54 PM To: Evergreen Discussion Group Subject: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Hot spots Good evening - What is the loan period for you internet hot spots? Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Possible Web Client Problem: Duplicate Barcode
Could this be the barcode scanner settings again? Like if the barcode scanner is set to add an extra return, scanning a barcode might enter the number and then activate another field or button after it. We saw this issue first in the Item Status screen where it seemed to load duplicate lines of every item scanned, this could be happening for Partron barcode changes too now that I think about it. The desktop version just seemed to have something built in to handle it properly because we did not see this issue with the barcode scanner settings until the webby. *Jennifer Bruch* Bethlehem Area Public Library 11 W. We started to just put the patrons first name on them, this allowed large families to organize the receipts in a logical manner while maintaining privacy.
