Really appreciate these videos being posted.

Is there a way to see the materials that are referenced in the videos? In
several of the ones I've watched the presenters mention documents that they are
sharing in the chat. Do I need to contact the individual presenters?

Thanks again. This is a huge resource and all of the videos I've watched so far
have had valuable information for our system.

It hasn't caused any issues with at least Chrome. The session cookie seems
fairly sticky, not surprisingly since Chrome cache seems to like to keep
everything it can.

That said 302 would have probably been the better choice.

These are pretty cool solutions, I think maybe it is time for us to stop
logging them in every day :)
Ryan, I have one question about your example config. Have you had issues using
a 301 redirect rather than 302? It seems like that could potentially prevent
the cookie from being set on reload, given that the browser may no longer hit
the original link at all once it has received a 301 (until the cache clears).

Our solution is more technical and probably involved for 2 self-checks. The
Windows script or URL options that were shared may be more useful but I thought
I'd post just in case it is useful to someone.

What we do is have the home/launch page of each self-check set to a URL like
selfchecks.mylibrary.gov/station1<http://selfchecks.mylibrary.gov/station1>.
This domain is hosted on an internal webserver with each URL location locked
down to the IP or IP range of the self-checks. When the browser hits this URL
it sets cookies for the username, password, and workstation and then redirects
to the Evergreen self-check interface. Since this potentially allows anyone to
login you'll want to make sure you lock down access to the URL and test.

If it ever gets logged out for some reason then all is needed is a browser
relaunch or home button click.

Here is an example NGINX server config that has branch level URLs / ACLs:
https://gist.github.com/eby/5dca1c51b2125a4ace822494fe59cd65

If you host Evergreen internally you should be able to do similar with the
Apache2 used for your catalog.

FWIW we have chrome kiosks and I'm not sure if Edge has any restrictions on
cookies that would prevent this from working. We have the self-checks URL on
the same root domain as the Evergreen catalog along with SSL which seems to be
enough for Chrome for now.

[OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] batch receiving items

2018-04-26 Thread Millissa Macomber
I was hoping this might have been fixed in 3.0 but it doesn't look like.

How do others batch receive items in Evergreen? This is the bug for the way we
are currently doing it. #1607922 We are limited to receiving no more than 15
items at a time.

Our current workflow is to scan the ISBN's in batches of 15. We then load them
into the Acquisitions/General Search. We can then select them all and Mark
Selected Items as Received. If we load more than 15 the second page of ISBN's
won't allow us to Mark Selected Items as Received.

Just thought I would see if there is a better way.

Hi all,

We are all excited about yesterday's beta release for 3.0 and all of the
wonderful improvements we're going to see in Evergreen!

Over the next few weeks, the Evergreen Outreach Committee will be highlighting
some of our favorite new features you will all be seeing in
3.0 in a video series called On the Road to 3.0. Although the web client is the
most notable change coming with the release, there are many other changes big
and small that will bring benefits to your libraries. In the first installment
of this series, we highlight some small, quality-of-life improvements that will
improve the experience for staff.

You can view the video on our new YouTube Channel at

[OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Self check-out

Looking for recommendations on self check-out machines and systems. We

Millissa,

Perfect. One suggestion that might work would to be to display (i.e., add to
Displayed Fields) the Invoice Entry ID, so you can see each one. Could you try
that and see if it works?

Thanks,

Chris

Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] Evergreen Acquistions vs some other method

2015-11-09 Thread Millissa Macomber
Our library uses Evergreen Acquisitions and electronic invoicing. We are having
some trouble reconciling invoices but otherwise have worked through a lot of
the struggles. Selectors really like being able to track their funds.

Subject: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] FW: Evergreen Acquistions vs some other method

We've been struggling to get Evergreen Acquistions set up and working, and are
gaining ground.
But it's time for us to evaluate the pro/con of even using an acquisition
module, vs. using some other method.

I've got 3 questions for everyone...

1) Do you use Evergreen Acqisitions and if yes, do you use it all or only
some portion of it.

2) If you do not use Evergreen Acquistions, do you use some other
Acquistion software and if yes, what is it.

3) If you do not use any Acquisition software, what method do you use to
keep track of funds/ encumbrances/ect.?

I'm posting this same question to the Cataloging group.
