 Over the past few weeks I have noticed that builds based on the
 Angstrom/Beaglebone distribution have been unreliable. Notably
 systemd/udev issues. Now I noticed a new issue (log below). I understand
 that a dynamically update system will have bugs from time to time, but
 this appears to be getting worse. Am I the only one who is noticing this?
 If so, maybe I am doing something wrong. If not, is there any hope of the
 issue stabilizing somewhat?

multipath maps partionable
..

Now,It can be used for kvm disk img partion for me.

good catch, we can add it, it will create /dev/mapper/loop0p1 node, I

because you don't need to know offset for partition

Applied thanks,

the newline Otavio mentioned was added too.

FYI: I had the same change in a local update branch (it is not ready yet)
On this branch I planned the following changes:
  Sanitize the layer with the oe-stylize script
  Update to latest versions of kdelibs, kde-workspace, kde-runtime and
libkactivities
  Enable full Krita support again (it was broken with Qt4.8.2)
  Add full packaging imported from rpm .spec files (don't know yet if
this will work)

After the branch is done the layer will be split to desktop and mobile versions,
because the kdelibs are built with different configure flags for
desktop and mobile profiles causing ABI incompatibility.

this appears to be getting worse. Am I the only one who is noticing this?
If so, maybe I am doing something wrong. If not, is there any hope of the
issue stabilizing somewhat?

 Update to 0.29 (latest, 0.30, needs GStreamer 1.0) and refresh the package

 on the different recipes in oe-core and meta-oe.

 Explicitly depend on GTK+ 2 and GTK+ 3, but split those dependencies into
 different packages.

Merged, thanks

 Ah right. Last time I was touching php I was trying to prevent creating
 this directory structure but failed, maybe something ugly like:

 TMP=/OE/shr-core/tmp-eglibc/work/armv5te/php-5/OE/shr-core/tmp-eglibc/work;
 WORKDIR=/OE/shr-core/tmp-eglibc/work/armv5te/php-5

 while test ${TMP} != ${WORKDIR}; do
   rmdir ${TMP}
   TMP=`dirname ${TMP}`;
 done

Merged with that while cycle added, thanks

[oe] [PATCH] [meta-systemd] dropbear: read configuration from /etc/default/dropbear

2013-01-22 Thread Enrico Scholz
Patch allows to specify additional parameters (e.g. '-B') by reading
/etc/default/dropbear as a systemd environment file. It applies
$DROPBEAR_EXTRA_ARGS which used already by the oe-core sysv initscript.

Re: [oe] meta-systemd: Introduce a create-volatile to create tmp directories

2013-01-22 Thread Peter A. Bigot

On 09/14/2012 11:59 AM, Holger Freyther wrote:

From: Holger Hans Peter Freyther ze...@selfish.org

The base-files create symlinks from /var/{log,tmp,lock,cache,run} to
the /var/volatile. The directories are created by sysv initscripts.
Use the systemd-tmpfiles to create the directories. One needs to be
careful with the naming of the file as systemd first collects all
*.conf files, sorts them by name and is parsing them then. Make sure
the new file is parsed before the systemd.conf.

(This is http://patches.openembedded.org/patch/36551/ which has been
archived, but AFAIK I can't reply to the full context because I was
unsubscribed when the discussion occurred:)

Apologies if my recursive grep skills have failed, but it appears this
is still not globally resolved for images that use systemd as the init
manager.

meta-gumstix has this patch and it caused problems with attempts to use
systemd_v189 in denzil since it's hidden inside a bbappend to
systemd_git.  So I'm hoping to identify a more forward-looking
solution. Is there a plan to fix this issue globally? Koen preferred
using base_files+fs_perms as in Angstrom, but Holger was concerned this
would prevent sharing base_files between sysvinit and systemd builds.

That's a recipe managed by oe-core, so you;d have to complain to the
maintainers of that layer.

Was this a build from scratch, or an update (build attempt in an already
built tree)? I've seen similar issues with some of the native recipes
recently, but it normally is recoverable. Try this:
  % bitbake db-native -c cleansstate
  % bitbake db-native
If that works, you should be able to carry on. If not, report back.

Thanks, that seemed to work. I was not familiar with the cleansstate
target. Where is it (and others) documented?

[oe] future of meta-systemd

2013-01-22 Thread Andreas Müller
Hi,

I have followed the systemd migration to oe-core only sporadic without
having tests / experiences so far because other issues are waiting for
closure.
Major difference is that we now get a distro feature for init system
(for systemd part kind of Déjà-vu for me..). As I see it, we should
now merge all appends back into the layers, align some configurations
depending on systemd and remove meta-systemd.

If this is correct: Is anybody out there willing to or already working on this?
If not: What is the suggested layout?

Andreas
