Re: [openstack-dev] All Hail our Newest Release Name - OpenStack Rocky
I arrive Sunday afternoon and leave Friday morning, so you can bracket and schedule your drink buying ;-) My view of Rocky is that of a *solid* base to build on. One that withstands the ravages of storms and squalls. So, I look forward to helping to reinforce and expand the stability of OpenStack projects in the Rocky release. And if you like, I've got a cute picture of our dog, Rocky (Secundus -- I existed first) as an informal mascot for the release. --Rocky > -Original Message- > From: Tom Barron [mailto:t...@dyncloud.net] > Sent: Friday, April 28, 2017 2:58 PM > To: openstack-dev@lists.openstack.org > Subject: Re: [openstack-dev] All Hail our Newest Release Name - OpenStack > Rocky > > > > On 04/28/2017 05:54 PM, Monty Taylor wrote: > > Hey everybody! > > > > There isn't a ton more to say past the subject. Monty, I guess the obligatory joke “It is going to be a Rocky release ahead!” must be made. \o/ Regards -steve -Original Message- From: Monty Taylor Reply-To: "OpenStack Development Mailing List (not for usage questions)" Date: Friday, April 28, 2017 at 2:54 PM To: "OpenStack Development Mailing List (not for usage questions)" , Openstack Users Subject: [openstack-dev] All Hail our Newest Release Name - OpenStack Rocky Hey everybody! There isn't a ton more to say past the subject. The "R" release of OpenStack shall henceforth be known as "Rocky". I believe it's the first time we've managed to name a release after a community member - so please everyone buy RockyG a drink if you see her in Boston. For those of you who remember the actual election results, you may recall that "Radium" was the top choice. Radium was judged to have legal risk, so as per our name selection process, we moved to the next name on the list.
