2012-09-24 Thread Kevin Halstead
Hi,

This is still an issue. Does the application launch log not shed any lights?

Many Thanks

As this is the only difference since the last implementation which worked?

Hello Kevin,

try to find out the reason, why the RDP client won't start:
Please open a xterm (ctrl+alt+shift+x) and copy+paste the starter-command from
the desktop-icon
(rightclick--properties--starter) into it.

Good luck.

 Hi,

Is anyone else having problems loading the RDP client, it says its
starting, but then automatically closes? I've tried changing the
setting to auto start and connect to a server but that also auto
 closes.#

Has anyone else had similar problems?

[openthinclient-user] FreeRDP and RDesktop refuse to open

2012-08-22 Thread Kevin Halstead
Hi,

We have re-installed Openthinclent on this new server, currently in our test
lab. The PXE client launches and brings up the desktop. The issue we have it
that clicking on the FreeRDP or Rdesktop Icon, says it is starting, then
automatically closes.

I’ve tried changing the settings to automatically launch and connect to
automatically connect to a terminal server, but refuses to load. The existing
infrastructure still works fine. I’ve replicated the settings exactly.

Are there known issues with installing on 2008R2 (our old server is on 2003)?
Tried older Java versions and installed newer versions of Rdesktop from the
unstable repository.

Firefox, x-terminal etc. work fine.

Hope you can help, its rather frustrating.

Many Thanks

Kevin

[openthinclient-user] FreeRDP 1.0.1 Openthincleint Distro

2012-08-10 Thread Kevin Halstead
Hi,

Now that FreeRDP 1.0.1 has been released and includes some Token-Based Server
Redirection, this would be very useful to have in Openthinclient. Has anyone
built up a repository of the latest version of FreeRDP for Openthinclient.

I've checked the testing distro but this only has version 1.0

http://www.freerdp.com/2012/02/09/freerdp-1-0-1-released/

Many Thanks

Kevin

[openthinclient-user] Changing text on Openthinclient Login screen

2011-09-15 Thread Kevin Halstead
Hi All,

I have successfully installed Openthinclient on a windows server and is
successfully serving the business to several machines.

One problem I would like to resolve, on the Openthinclient login screen .
Instead of having the text Welcome to Openthinclient, can this be changed to
something like
Please log-on with your normal account details: or something similar. People
don't realise the login is connected to our windows domain controller.

Many thanks

[openthinclient-user] FW: Problems with double bounce RDP

2011-08-26 Thread Kevin Halstead
Hi,

I have been unable to resolve the FreeRDP issue so I think the only option is
to start again and re-install Openthinclient.
However I want to back up the PXE client information, is it possible to do this
and re-import when I re-install.

I would have to go round each client and manually approve each client again
otherwise, and there would be a lot to do.

Many thanks

Apologies for the delay in replying, I have installed the FreeRDP-GIT from

out. On the desktop I get an Icon, but doesn't launch anything.

I have also tried to do it without a desktop and automatically start when

Has anyone else been able to make freerdp-git work with their environment?

which version of rdesktop do you use? Version 1.6 should not be used with
server 2008. You can find a more recent version (latest) of rdesktop in our

Enanble the following line in your sources.list.

2011-08-04 Thread Kevin Halstead
Hi Martin,

I've just tried adding -u --no-nla to FreeRDP under manual parameters.
Unfortunately by adding it, after I log on I get a black screen and that is it.
So I'm afraid it hasn't worked for me I'm afraid :(

Hopefully a new version of freeRDP will be released soon which fully supports
it.

Thanks for your help anyway.

hi kevin,

if you are not using OTC's single-sign-on feature (or not using a preconfigured
username/password) you might have to add the following parameter to your
freeRDP application:

-u --no-nla

there will be a fix/workaround for this issue in upcoming freeRDP releses.

 Hi,

I have also installed Firefox 5.0 which was also on the list, whenever I
launch it I get the error You have GTK+ 2.8, This application requires GTX+

could also be causing FreeRDP not to work?

 Thanks

 Hi Jörn,

Thanks for the your repo, I've added it to my sources and installed
freerdp, looks like this version isn't quite there. It connects but
if it requires to switch to the second server it just kicks you off.
So its actually worse than rdesktop6.0. If the next version gets
released I hope this issue would be finally resolved.

Would you be able to let us know when you add the next version to
 your sources?

 Many thanks

 Hi Kevin,

the things you're explaining are caused by the old rdesktop - even
the one from the SVN. I already build package for freerdp some weeks
ago and we have a friendly relationship to the people coding on this
 cool project.

 The unofficial repo is:
 http://otc.nutzerverwaltung.de/manager-contrib

Please add this to your sources.list of the otc-server and try it.
Keep in mind, that this is very BETA!

I'm not sure if the package out there in the repo (imho 0.8.2) has
already full nla-support. I'm looking forward to release a new
 version on the next weekend.

 Stay tuned!

There is a project which is continuing rdesktop called

If this could be installed on OpenThinClient would resolve the

2011-05-25 Thread Kevin Halstead
Hi,

I have installed the new fork RDP client into OTC which is supposed to support
it, however it isn't the case unfortunately as it doesn't pass any credentials
at all and fails.
Hopefully there is a solution soon as some of my colleagues are very frustrated
with it.

Thanks
