This is a really useful thread for me. I've wanted to find a way to
understand the range of political thinking, beyond the bubble of Ithaca,
NY. I'm glad to be reminded that "self-organization" does indeed invite all
voices into the space, where we listen with respect without having to

Dear Patricia,

everything is open space, even democratic systems and institution but 
also a mafia organisation or autocratic systems.
The forces of selforganisation do their thing everywhere, completely 
independent of the various criteria we have for classifying whats good, 
bad or indifferent.
And Open Space Technology, the process we work with, is an approach that 
expands time and space for the force of selforganisation to unfold. Its 
the only group/organisation/system approach that has that as its core 
activity.
But dont worry, even without OST, selforganisation thrives... sometimes 
hardly noticeable. And if you find an organsation/system with not signs 
of selforganisation you can be sure its dead for all practical purposes.


Now, as an UScitizen looking at whats happening in the USA from my 
distant viewpoint in Berlin, I see that the forces of selforganisation 
are alive and kicking back home.

I'm confused about your post. I really want to ignore it, because to me 
it seems to be a joke or some conspiracy theory.


But here on OSLIST, I think we want to listen and we want dialogue with 
everyone with an open mind. So I will not ignore you.


I admit that I don't understand how you could get that perspective and 
how you can wish for a newly elected president to be arrested. To me it 
seems to ruin democracy in your own country. Is it that you actually 
don't want democracy? and how do you combine loving Open Space with not 
wanting democracy? or Open Space-thinking with accusing people?
