Within osmand use setting folder to "manual".
Works with androud 12.
It would help to know which android version do you use.

Re: How to speedup osmand

2024-04-20 Thread Peter B - pebogufi
Try changing location of osmand installation
from
storage/82A1-7ABC/Android/obb/net.osmand.plus
to
storage/82A1-7ABC/Android/media/net.osmand.plus

With android version 12 and newer this may help.
There are a lot of reports about this access problem.

Open the track by tapping on it, then you see the on bottom this screen.
With the second button (above text "track") you can change layout.

Re: favorites file location confusion

2024-01-29 Thread Peter B - pebogufi
The favorites are stored in a internal database, the user does not have
direct access to it.
To manipulate (incl. Delete) you have to do that within the app. The
directory favorites with its files is nice to export / share them.

File access restrictions on Android 11, 12, ...

2023-02-24 Thread Peter B - pebogufi
Currently I am using OsmAnd on two devices.
- Smartphone Samsung S7, 32GB internal, 128GB SD-Card, Android 8
- Tablet Samsung S5e, 64 GB internal, 64 GB SD-Card, Android 10.
On both devices OsmAnd is installed on SD-Card,
/storage/-/Android/obb/net.osmand.plus
used memory is about 20 GB, max may be 30 GB.
Everything runs fine.

I wan to buy a new/refurbished Samsung S10, 128GB internal (+SD-Card),
which will be shipped with Android 9, as i suppose.

* As I know I can only update to Android 12, looks like Android 10 is not
possible, I did not found a dnl/ install possibility. *Hints are wellcome !*

* From Android 11 on there are severe file acces restrictions, reported
solutions are using
SD-Card /storage/-/osmand
SD-Card /storage/-/Download/osmand
SD-Card /storage/-/Android/media/net.osmand.plus/
internal /storage/emulated/0/Android/media/net.osmand.plus/
What is the latest + best + fastest recommendation ?

I habe two requirements:
File access read+write with file manager (Total Commander) on all subdirs
of osmand.
Fast file access to map, rendering and preparing of a route, ...

Is there a substantial difference of file access SPEED between internal mem
and SD-Card, so which should i prefer ?
Is there a substantial difference of file access RIGHTS between intermal
mem and SD-Card ?
Are the rights restrictions for Android 11,12 the same for internal mem and
SD-Card ?

I have enough mem on internal and SD-Card, where should i install osmand -
internal or SD-Card, which directory ?

Thanks a lot, Peter

It looks like it is only in zoomlevel 13 to 22. The area is only part of
depatement Doubs. In the southwest Pontarlier, which also belongs to Doubs,
is NOT affected. For me it looks like that a part of Doubs has a special

I would like to define direction arrows to set to ON (visible) for all

And also for start and finish icon to set to OFF.
Any idea where it can be set ?

The streets which osmand is using, does NOT have a maxspeed, whereas the

Re: Connect and unconnect the link between OSMAND and GPSTest

2021-05-22 Thread Peter B - pebogufi
Thanks a lot to lodrog.
It was a very valuable information for me, that .osf is .zip format, I did
not know that. This now gives a lot of potential for looking inside, what /
how it is working and what can be configured outside of "normal" options.
Kind regards Peter

Re: Touren auf Laptop bearbeiten

2021-05-17 Thread Peter B - pebogufi
Routeconverter.de ist für mich unschlagbar, verwendet bei Planung von
Radtouren mit gesamt >20.000km.
