Re: Auto Zoom not zoomed out far enough
Ik and Peter, thanks for confirming this. I really hate to give up autozoom because it is really useful to have it automatically zoom in close as I approach a turn. Maybe I'll play around with the auto-center time so I can manually zoom way out to get an overview and then after a minute or so have it automatically re-center the map at the default zoom level. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Osmand" group. Re: Auto Zoom not zoomed out far enough
I confirm, that on highspeed on motorway (with my caravan it is not more than 100kmh) I don't see enough, what is in front of me in the next km. On the other hand, when driving slow in a town with much traffic, with much crossings, roundabouts with more than 4 exits, there is insufficient information, i need a lower zoom level to made fast decisions. I also use manual changing of zoom level, which is annoying, but more reliable. Peter -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Osmand" group. Re: Auto Zoom not zoomed out far enough
I'm not sure I have the same problem. But basically I stopped using autozoom because at highways is does not give enough overview to see whether instructions make sense, e.g. * instruction to leave the highway only to return to it almost immediately because it saved a few meters (shortest route option) but results in idiotic waste of time. * instruction to return to on intermediate route point (inserted to handle long routes) because I interupted navigation and osmand doe not mark such intermediate points as 'passed'. Actually, I think it makes more sense to use road type instead of own speed to determine autozoom levels. So I use manual zoom which is a pain but safer and more informative. Auto Zoom not zoomed out far enough
In my navigation settings I have Auto Zoom set to long-range yet when i am driving at highway speeds (65 mph or more) the scale at the bottom of the map says .5 miles. In fact, it did not seem to make any difference at all when I switched it from the default "mid-range" to "long-range". This does not really seem very "long-range" to me. I am curious to know if this is what others are seeing or if there is a way to make it zoom out further at highway speeds. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Osmand" group.
