Re: [otb-users] Monteverdi on OSX

2016-03-07 Thread Stéphane ALBERT
Hello Pieter,

Thank you for reporting.

The OTB_APPLICATION_PATH environment variable must be set in order for
Monteverdi and Mapla to find OTB-applications. This should be done by the
startup script but there might be some directory setup problem during the
package.

Best regards,

Stéphane

Re: [otb-users] RapidEye Optical Calibration in Monteverdi 3.0.1

2016-02-10 Thread Stéphane ALBERT
Hello Petar,

You can click on the *File/Load OTB-applications* item of the Monteverdi
menu to load OTB-appilications. A dockable browser will open.

You can search for a specific OTB-applications by typing some text in its
search line.

You can double click on the requested OTB-application to open its editing
panel.

Re: [otb-users] Problems compiling Monteverdi on Debian

2016-01-18 Thread Stéphane ALBERT
(Sorry, I misclicked...)

Hello,

We chose to use QWT 5.x because QWT 6.x was not available on all platforms
OTB was needed to compile and wanted Monteverdi to be available on all
those platforms.

The thing is that the QWT 6.x API is not compatible with the one of QWT 5.x
because the author(s) had made some major design changes (e.g. classes
removed and/or redesigned)

So, I think that if we move to QWT 6.x, nearly whole the HistogramWidget
component will have to be rewritten.

Re: [otb-users] Problems compiling Monteverdi on Debian

2016-01-15 Thread Stéphane ALBERT
Hello Agustin,

It seems you are trying to use QWT 6.x.y to compile Monteverdi.
Unfortunately, Monteverdi is not compatible with this version and needs QWT
5.x.y.

set(QWT_INCLUDE_DIR "/usr/include/qwt-qt4" CACHE STRING "" FORCE)
>
Changing qwt5-qt to qwt-qt does not seem to be a problem since it is only
and include directory path. But...

set(QWT_LIBRARY "/usr/lib/libqwt.so.6" CACHE STRING "" FORCE)
>
...you should have /usr/lib/libqwt.so.5 or /usr/lib64/libqwt.so.5 here.

If QWT 5.x is not available on your platform, you can download version
5.2.3 from http://sourceforge.net/projects/qwt/files/qwt/5.2.3/ before
compiling and installing it on your user account (somewhere like
${HOME}/local/). Then, you could configure your Monteverdi build to point
to your local build of QWT 5.2.3 with something like:
set(QWT_INCLUDE_DIR "$ENV{HOME}/local/include/qwt-qt4" CACHE STRING ""
FORCE)
set(QWT_LIBRARY "$ENV{HOME}/lib/libqwt.so.5" CACHE STRING "" FORCE)

[otb-users] Monteverdi 3.x functionalities roadmap

2016-01-11 Thread Stéphane ALBERT
Dear All,

Please find hereafter a roadmap draft of functionalities we would like to
develop in Monteverdi 3. Order of items is no priority but here only for
referencing in later discussions. Items are also tagged as [S]mall,
[M]edium, [L]arge or [?] undetermined.

Please feel free to suggest features you would like to be added to the
list. We would also be glad to discuss specific items more in detail. If
you wish to do so, we will open a separate thread for each item as a *Request
For Comments* on the develop mailing-list.

   1. [M] Pop-up dialog to select which dataset to open when loading
   compound dataset
   2. [M] Pop-up dialog to customize GDAL overviews generation/usage for
   large inputs
   3. [M]Load/Save XML file storing the layer-stack content and some
additional visualization settings (possiblity complying with QGIS file
   format for interoperability)
   4. [S] Save screenshot button+keyboard shortcut
   5. [S] Find a way to use mouse wheel to zoom and CTRL+wheel to rotate
layers (The opposite of current shortcuts; the zoom function uses Ice light
rendering mode and is detected by pressing the CTRL key modifier and headvy
reander mode i.e. data loading is triggered when the CTRL key is released)

Re: [otb-users] command line mode?

2015-11-25 Thread Stéphane ALBERT
Hello Patrick,

If you installed OTB package on your computer, you can look for the .bat
script files (otbcli_*.bat and otbgui_*.bat) allowing to launch
OTB-applications in the .../bin directory of the OTB install directory.

If you installed Monteverdi2 only, the OTB-applications .bat script files
are not included in the install. Only the OTB-applications are included
because OTB-applications can be launhed directly from the Monteverdi2 User
Interface.

Maybe you should install the OTB package to follow the OTB course.

Re: [otb-users] Répertoire de cache de MVD2

2015-10-26 Thread Stéphane ALBERT
Hello Vincent,

When Monteverdi 2 is first started, you can choose a custom location or let
the program install its cache directory to its default location (the home
dir). If you choose a location where there is already a mvd2 directory (at
the correct format; depending on versions) the program will try to reload
it as is.

So, you can:

   1. copy you mvd2 cache directory to some other place, for example in
   D:\Custom_Dir\
   2. rename your current C:\Users\My_Name\mvd2 to
   C:\Users\My_Name\mvd2.orig
   3. Start Monteverdi 2, select the custom location where to store the
   mvd2 sub-directory into
   4. Choose D:\Custom_Dir\ as location to store the mvd2 sub-directory
   (and not D:\Custom_Dir\mvd2)

Hello Jordi,

You should try the develop branch of the Monteverdi2 repository (since the
master branch is the original import from the previous Mercurial repository
and there has not yet been a release of Monteverdi2 on the master branch).

2015-09-24 Thread Stéphane ALBERT
Jordi,

Could you please check that the develop branch of the OTB you use contains
the merge of the no_data_app branch ?

The error seems to come since the merge of the nodata_flags_support branch
to the develop branch (of Monteverdi2).

Re: [otb-users] Trouble with 2.08 Mac Install Error Creating Cache Repository

2014-10-27 Thread Stéphane ALBERT
Hello,

Deleting the mvd2 cache directory before running Monteverdi2 is correct.

The program first creates an empty mvd2 cache-directoy before loading the
Qt4 SQLite driver plugin. Then, it tries to create the db.sqlite file in
the cache-directory.

This is the reason why the first error message is about the SQLite driver
plugin and the second about the db.sqlite file.

I downloaded the Monteverdi2-0.8.dmg package from Sourceforge (
http://sourceforge.net/projects/orfeo-toolbox/files/Monteverdi2/) and
installed it on our test platform. I did find the '
/Applications/Monteverdi2-0.8.app/Contents/Resources/lib/qt4/plugins/sqldrivers.dylib'
and the application runs fine.

Where did you get your Monteverdi2-0.8 package?

Where did you get your Monteverdi2 package?

  Stéphane,

Looking at the mvd2 folder I do not see a db.sqlite file. I did check
the package and the plugin does exist. Here is my current cache
directory. I deleted the old one when I upgraded from 2.06 so it is fairly
 small.

  Thanks,

Re: [otb-users] Trouble with 2.08 Mac Install Error Creating Cache Repository

2014-10-07 Thread Stéphane ALBERT
Hello Justin,

Monteverdi2 version 0.8.0 now uses an SQLite database to manage groups. To
handle this database Monteverdi2 uses the Qt4 integrated SQLite driver. You
should find a .../mvd2/db.sqlite file in the cache directory.

It seems that the Qt4 SQLite driver has not been found at runtime.

Could you please send the Monteverdi2 cache directory listing ?

Using a terminal, you should find a 'sqldrivers.dylib' file in the '
/Applications/Monteverdi2-0.8.app/Contents/Resources/lib/qt4/plugins/'
directory (if you installed Monteverdi2 in the standard Applications
directory).

Regards,

Stéphane

we are proud to announce that OTB 4.2 release candidate 1 and Monteverdi2
0.8 RC1 have been tagged and are available for testing!

You can download source tarballs for OTB and Monteverdi2 sources and
 binary installers here:

  http://orfeo-toolbox.org/packages/

For Monteverdi2 we provide now two types of Windows installers:

- Win32 and Win64 binary packages (compiled with VC)

- Windows binaries built in MinGW:

 http://orfeo-toolbox.org/packages/OTB-4.2-rc1-Windows-MinGW32.zip
 http://orfeo-toolbox.org/packages/OTB-4.2-rc1-Windows-MinGW64.zip

To test Monteverdi2 MinGW installer, you just need to unzip the archive
and launch the *monteverdi2.bat* available in the bin directory. Note
that monteverdi1 and otbViewer are also available. Feel free to test these
 installers!

You can also obtain the OTB source code using Mercurial:

  hg clone http://hg.orfeo-toolbox.org/OTB

  cd OTB

  hg update -r 4.2-rc1

Please test the release candidate and share your experiences on the
mailing list [1] and Mantis [2] to help identify issues.

You can also submit experimental build to the dashboard [3] with:

 ctest -D Experimental

Congratulations and well done to everyone that has contributed to this
 release.

The final release is scheduled in early September.

Re: [otb-users] Menus in Monteverdi

2014-02-26 Thread Stéphane ALBERT
Hello Jun Wang,

Does the OTB applications dock-widget appear (empty, I guess) ?

If so, you can setup the ITK_AUTOLOAD_PATH environment variable to point to
where the OTB applications are stored (by default, it should be
/usr/lib/otb/applications).
