Re: Group B Strep in breastmilk
Dear Liz, "Breastfeeding management in Australia" says "Group B Haemolytic Streptococcus Mother/baby isolation is not necessary. Breastfeeding is not contraindicated. There have been 3 reports of Group B haemolytic Strep infections associated with possible mother-to-infant transmission via breastmilk. Bilateral mastitis should be considered a suspicious sign. Culturing of the milk is recommended if the infant becomes infected. Antibiotics, especially the penicillin family are effective treatment" Sorry, it's not much, but I hope it helps. Barb

RE: Exercise in pregnancy
Dear Judy One of the best references I have found on exercise in pregnancy is a book by Dr James Clapp called 'Exercising through your pregnancy'. James isone of the worlds foremost researches in the area of exercise and pregnancy. I have a huge collection of research articles and books on exercise and pregnancy and found this book to be the most helpful. It also explodes some of the myths about exercising during pregnancy and looks at lots of research in this area. From memory I had to purchase it through Amazon.com - as its published in the US. Other books to which I give the thumbs up are: Brayshaw, E., Wright, P. Teaching physical skills for the childbearing year. Publisher:Royal College of Midwives YMCA of the USA. Fit for Two. Butler, Joan. Fit and pregnant. Publisher: Acorn Publishing.
