Streaming tennis cricket
Good news for those having trouble winding down after the Olympics. 1.The US Open (grandslam tennis) started Monday and runs through to Sunday September 12 New York time. US Open.org radio is on air with live coverage (mainly radio commentary) every day. Play commences at 11:00 AM on the US East Coast that's 15:00 GMT and In Eastern Australia it's 1:00 AM the following morning. Go to www.usopen.org and click on usopen.org radio. 2.There's some interesting one day cricket in England leading up to the ICC Champions Trophy. The Natwest Challenge between England and India is played this Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, September 1 through 5. On Saturday, Australia and Pakistan meet at Lord's. There are multiple ways to get there, but maybe the way is go to www.bbc.co.uk/sportsextra and click on an appropriate 'listen' link such as listen to pure live sport. Be careful you don't get caught up clicking on the 'five live' 'listen' link. The broadcast starts around 9:30 - 9:35 GMT, that's around 7:30 PM in Eastern Australia or 5:30 AM on the East Coast of the US. Why suffer the TV when there's radio coverage on the net? The ICC Champions Trophy runs from September 9 to 25. Haven't seen anything yet about BBC streaming and am not assuming it because rights arrangements maybe different as being an ICC event, there may not be the usual arrangement between the England Cricket Board (ECB) and the BBC. Keep checking the Sportsextra 'schedule ' link and you'll know by around the weekend.
