RE: Real Alternative
Hi, I tried Real Alternative and liked it a lot. The problem that I had with it was that I wanted to use it to listen to sports broadcasts from the University of North Carolina. They now have a subscription service where you have to pay so much per month. When I tried to use Real Alternative, the system came back and said that my real player was out of date and I would have to update to the new one to use this service. I was using the most recent version of Real Alternative and finally had to install the Real Player to make it work. I was disappointed as I really would have preferred to use Real Alternative. LAME, A QUICK COMMAND LINE FOR A BATCH FILE
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 Greetings! People have been asking. Ok! about time! you say so here's the command line in its simple form that EAC uses with LAME, you may like to try it. It can be used in a batch file, naturally! changes have to be made to the command line when using it with EAC or Easy CD DA Extractor to tell LAME about the current file name of tracks being compressed. This command line uses the old VBR method I discuss in earlier messages. "LAME -V5 -q0 --quiet "-V" followed by a number from 1-9 specifies the V quality of the encoding, this quality can be set from 0-9 and I use 5. If a smaller number is used encoding is worse but the file is small. If set to 9, the encoding is excellent! but the file is large. Please note that the "V" in this example is an upper case V and not a lower case one. "-q" sets the Q quality, in the above example the Q quality is set to its maximum amount, the range is 0 best to 9 worst. Please note that in this example, a lower case q is used. Everything else should be self explanatory. -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- Version: PGP 8.1 Comment: A Member Of The TFT BBS Digital Security Initiative iQA/AwUBQUiC0ilBPqY64aUBEQJ0rgCgqZ1d5q/7cw0Lzr6dsW5ml3iNR3AAoN/7 LAu7ij+cxzH4WQYZlJo70Jct =s1KE -END PGP SIGNATURE- ___ PC-Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
