Hi DJC,

Um... I'm looking to go in to computer engineering when I'm older...and
well, are you totally blind? When you say you build the computer straight
from scratch, does that mean installing windows, or does it mean
hardware-wise?

thanks,
Tyler

PS: I know computer engineering has nothing to do with that, I mean a
computer technicion..

I'd like to ad here that I just downloaded this software but it came in
 way
to fast so I think it could be a Virus so I'd say bookmark his page and
drop him email to see if he is actually working on a piece of software
 but
I having read that it's crashed a computer I'll install it on a virtual
drive here and see what the story is. I'll report right here if it's
 false
software or whatever but Please be careful. I have several machines here
and since I image my drives I can test software and let you know the
 truth.
 Many of the older
members of this list will know my main menu reviews. I build my machines
from scratch and I install all the tools I need to test any software to
 see
if it's accessible for the Blind Community. I'll check this all out for
 you.

You can hardly blame folks for their lack of I.T. knowledge. Okay, if
you can deduce from file size that something's amiss you're in a good
position to keep rogue software at bay, at least in this particular
instance. However, a lot of people tend to take the claims associated
with the program at face value. I mean to say, why shouldn't they?
After all, this is the first incident of the blind being deliberately
targeted by these nasties. To blame them for having faith in human
nature is arrogant and unhelpful.
So, instead of

Houdy yall,

I know we've slighted this to death but there are several signs to lookout
for with bad software. Most of these have already been pointed out. Just
remember: if it looks too good to be true and sounds too good to be true,
more than likely it is and stay away from it; and this ain't arrogance it's
just plain old common sense.

Hi Garry. A Virtual drive is a piece of software that you can run and it
opens a folder if you will that's separate from your regular system. When
you shut the drive down everything on the virtual drive gets wiped out. A
virtual drive is great for test purposes.

sigmatel audio help sought

2006-03-19 Thread Richard Quan
Hi,

I just got a desktop with the sigmatel audio sound built onboard. It's using
the intel audio studio which is totally inaccessible. As well, I am finding
that the microphone volume is very low no matter what I do with the settings in
recording volume in windows xp. Can anyone recommend a better way of using
this device than the intel audio studio and how to improve the sound. As well,
is it very hard to install a sound card and what would I have to do about the
onboard device? Thanks in advance,

Richard

Sony mini disc recorder/player

2006-03-19 Thread Bob Seed
Does anyone know of a buy sell list that I can put my Sony mini disc player
on? The model number is: MZ-N707 type-R.
I find that the display is too small for me to read. The unit is bran new
and has never been used. It does have beeping tones that indicate the
different functions. of the unit.

Earlier this week, I had written to the list regarding a similar Sony
player
and the Sonic stage software that came with it.
I did receive some helpful responses regarding some work arounds using
sonic
stage for which i was very appreciative, but it really did not provide
total
control over the process of transfering and managing files on the Sony.
I really liked the player's design and sound.
But I ended up trading it in on a Sandisk two gigabyte player that allows
for transfering files via my computer or windows explorer.

That Sonic Stage software drove me nuts!

  From

it
would appear that one has to use their software to transfer music to the

 Hello

I use a stario to listen to music, and I have a large music collection.
So, of course, I bought a pack of 100 cds thinking they'd work fine. This
stario was known to have some reading problems--but I could usually
resolve them somehow. I burned the first cd at 8x, like usual. What came
out was horrible--and I even tried playing it on another system. It didn't
play it good iether. I hear small crackles in latter tracks and at the end
the disk won't play at all. 8x is the lowest speed nero burning rom will
burn at- but I don't think that's the problem. I'm not sure what to do-
 any suggestions?

 thanks,
 Tyler

You can hardly blame folks for their lack of I.T. knowledge. Okay,
if you can deduce from file size that something's amiss you're in a
good position to keep rogue software at bay, at least in this
particular instance. However, a lot of people tend to take the
claims associated with the program at face value. I mean to say, why
shouldn't they? After all, this is the first incident of the blind
being deliberately targeted by these nasties. To blame them for
having faith in human nature is arrogant and unhelpful. So, instead
of oh look how clever I am
let's put our minds together and deal with the issue at hand before
more unsuspecting people fall victim to the scam.

 Hi DJC,

Um... I'm looking to go in to computer engineering when I'm
older...and well, are you totally blind? When you say you build the
computer straight from scratch, does that mean installing windows, or
 does it mean hardware-wise?

 thanks,

I'd like to ad here that I just downloaded this software but it came
in way to fast so I think it could be a Virus so I'd say bookmark
his page and drop him email to see if he is actually working on a
 piece of software but
I having read that it's crashed a computer I'll install it on a virtual
drive here and see what the story is. I'll report right here if it's
 false
software or whatever but Please be careful. I have several machines here
and since I image my drives I can test software and let you know the
 truth.
 Many of the older
members of this list will know my main menu reviews. I build my machines
from scratch and I install all the tools I need to test any software to
 see
if it's accessible for the Blind Community. I'll check this all out for
 you.

Unfortunately, some streams I like use Real1 Player. (can't do anything

Is there some way I can avoid that screen popping up and exiting Real1

Hi Garry. A Virtual drive is a piece of software that you can run and it
opens a folder if you will that's separate from your regular system. When
you shut the drive down everything on the virtual drive gets wiped out. A
virtual drive is great for test purposes.
