Re: Wind chimes software

2006-06-28 Thread Kathy Szinnyey
Hi, Debbie, Trace and list. Well, Debbie, yes, in theory that website you
sent me was what I was looking for. Unfortunately, the company which sold
those lovely wind chimes no longer exists, and there seems to be nowhere on
the web I've found to find anything like them. Yes, Trace, this was a cool
little program that simulated all sorts of sounds, tunings, all sorts of fun
sounds you could make, including really beautiful windchimes. If anyone has
that program around, could you send it to me? I actually don't know if it
wold work well with XP, though, as it was meant to run with Windows 95 and
NT (remember them?) Heavy sigh. I miss those wind chimes so!

I have a question about wind chimes. Years ago I had these fun wind
 chimes
from a company called sentrillium (spelling), but I can't seem to find it
now. I found a place that talked about those chimes being supported by
Windows 95 and NT, so I don't know if I'd even want to run it on XP.
Anyway, if anyone knows about a program similar to that, I'd really like
 to

 ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
 Case Management
1.Follow SAF service delivery model while working with SAF consumers.
2.Perform telephone pre‑evaluation calls in order to gain a preliminary

guidelines and assume a responsible role in managing cases within the SAF
interdisciplinary
team context.
2.Submit written consumer reports and recommendations to authorizing
agencies, companies, or individuals in accordance with SAF guidelines.
3.Submit monthly consumer activity and status reports in accordance with
SAF procedures.
 Interpersonal
1.Serve as a support member to SAF's vocational team in the provision of
services to SAF consumers.
2.Maintain close working relationships with Department of Rehabilitation
counselors, vendors, and developers of assistive technology.

   Technology
1.Responsible for assisting in maintaining the SAF Ford Lab (e.g. check
hard drives for viruses, obtain donations of latest versions of software and
hardware, ensure functionality of each work station, handle repair of specific
components, organize manuals and disks, arrange individual lab components,
register in-kind donations with the financial department).
2.Participate in and/or independently conduct monthly and/or personalized
tours of the Ford Lab for the community.
3.Conduct research on new assistive technology (software and hardware).
 Other

I have a question about wind chimes. Years ago I had these fun wind
 chimes
from a company called sentrillium (spelling), but I can't seem to find
 it
now. I found a place that talked about those chimes being supported by
Windows 95 and NT, so I don't know if I'd even want to run it on XP.
Anyway, if anyone knows about a program similar to that, I'd really like
 to
 hear! Thanks in advance.

Hi, Debbie, Trace and list. Well, Debbie, yes, in theory that website you
sent me was what I was looking for. Unfortunately, the company which sold
those lovely wind chimes no longer exists, and there seems to be nowhere
 on
the web I've found to find anything like them. Yes, Trace, this was a
 cool
little program that simulated all sorts of sounds, tunings, all sorts of
 fun
sounds you could make, including really beautiful windchimes. If anyone
 has
that program around, could you send it to me? I actually don't know if it
wold work well with XP, though, as it was meant to run with Windows 95 and
NT (remember them?) Heavy sigh. I miss those wind chimes so!

Hey Allison,

I'm starting to test Skype recording with Total Recorder 6.0. This newest
version seems to handle its virtual sound drivers much better. They seem
less obtrusive. I'm having some preliminary success and will let everyone

VAC could help record Skype in 2 ways. First, it puts the caller and you
 on
isolated virtual sound cards, and also the drivers have the ability to be
recorded from by more than one program at a time like a virtual splitter.
Their audio repeater allows audio to be routed to and from the real sound
card such that JFW or any other sounds wouldn't get in the call or
 recording

or the caller hearing himself fed back. You could then use the mic
 selection

as normal. If you had Outlook, not the express one but the one with the
calendar and stuff that Office gives you, you don't have to set up this
 mess

on every reboot or time you want to record Skype. The VAC idea isn't so
 bad
if things could be started and stopped easily, but the repeater has to be
run in 2 or 3 instances to tie it all together and it isn't really
 possible
 to have start on boot.

Yes, I know what your problem is now. I just had the same problem last
 night.

Go into Skype, go to the tools menu, go to the options menu. Now choose
 the
sound devices tab, and under that tab uncheck the checkbox that says let
Skype set my sound devices. If that is checked Skype will ignore the
 fact
that you have checked something different and put you back to having the
mike checked. If you don't let Skype control your audio the box you
 check
will stay checked. Now, also be sure that you tab on over to the save
button and save the change before coming out of that menu.

I also did find this kind of cool free chimes program, but it works better
if you put it in the system tray.
When you download and run the exe, it will be running in your task bar.
Press windows key M to go to the desktop, then tab to your start button,
then tab to your task bar. Start right arrowing until you hear chimer
button. Then right there on the task bar, press shift f10. This will bring
up the context menu and arrow down adn enter on settings. check the box for
system tray, that way it is easier to get to with your insert f11 dialog.

http://www.blaiz.net/CHIMER.ZIP
you can change all kinds of things in the settings for different types of
chimes and sounds.

big problem

2006-06-28 Thread Brandon Hicks
hi all,
I went through and ripped about 25 cd's this morning. For some reason,
despite all the settings being correct, no audio was extracted. I'm using
CDEx 1.7 beta 1. The files are there, appear to contain data and are tagged,
but there's no audio. I've played them in media player, gold wave and
winamp. Other files work just fine. There were about 45 CD's that i went
through, and would not like to go through them all again. Is there any way I
can get the audio out of these, or am I going to have to suck it up and go
through them all again?
thanks
brandon

I've heard of both of those programs. Is there a good comparison out there

then you will need audio editing software. You will get varying views as to
what you can use and find affordable. Myself I use goldwave and others use
soundforge. I'll let someone else speak on streaming audio.

winamp playlist question

2006-06-28 Thread Brandon Hicks
hi all,
I've created an m3u playlist of my most commonly listened to songs, the ones
i like the best, whatever. I recently moved a bunch of them, though, and was
wondering if there was any other way aside from clearing the non-existent
tracks and readding them and moving them to their places of changing the
location. Like is there a way to tell winamp to look for those files on the
hard drive or in specified folders?
thanks

Anyway, if anyone knows about a program similar to that, I'd really like
 to
 hear! Thanks in advance.

locating streams

2006-06-28 Thread Robin G. Plitt
Hello all,

I have been using Replay AV for a couple of weeks now and am extremely
satisfied with it.

I am having one problem however. While listenning to streamed audio through
Windows Media Player. I am unable to capture the stream automatically within
Replay AV. Ibelieve the stream is coming through a flash version of the WM
player.

I have tried to directly record off the sound card, but my laptop won't find
the audio even though I hear it.

Does anyone know if there is a way I can manually locate the stream and
input it into Replay AV?

BTW, the primary source for my problems is MLB.COM. I dohave the
subscription, but can't seem to get recordings from live or archived games.

THanks in advance,
Robin

disabling or uninstalling creative Media source

2006-06-28 Thread Chris Skarstad
Hi folks

Ok, further to my message of last week about the Creative
Soundblaster Live! USB Soundcard, we got it installed and configured
ok, but there's a program called Creative Media Source that
constantly comes up. My friend tells me that it comes up when the
computer starts up and when you try to close the program window, it
doesn't seem to want to close. Is there any way that the program can
be uninstalled or closed down without messing anything up? We've got
everything configured exactly how it's supposed to be, but I'm just
curious if anyone has any advice about this. I figure it must be in
the startup group, but if it's taken out of there, will the card
sease to function properly or is it ok to do that? The idea here is
to get rid of it, but the card should hopefully still work.
Thanks for any advice.

 Hi Simon,

I'm having this same problem with sapi 5 on this pc of mine as well and
couldn't find any type of repair for it. Could you send me a copy of the
patch as well? It may also solve another problem I'm having with my
microphone as well because whatever's wrong with sapi seems to be
 affecting
it as well. Thanks a lot man.

 Hi Folks:

I recently installed a speech engine from ScanSoft. After un-installing
 the
Speech engine, I am not able to get any SAPI 5 voices working from the
Windows speech control, found in the Control panel. I receive the
 following
 message:

 Speech Properties
This voice cannot be played. Please try selecting another voice or
selecting a different audio output device.
 OK

I did try other devices; however with no luck.

 Any suggestions?

Hi Robin,
to record from your sound card,
you have to go into volume, and properties, go to recording, and check what
you hear.
If you need any more info,
get back to me, at the address,

Subject: locating streams

 Hello all,

I have been using Replay AV for a couple of weeks now and am extremely
 satisfied with it.

I am having one problem however. While listenning to streamed audio
 through
Windows Media Player. I am unable to capture the stream automatically
 within
Replay AV. Ibelieve the stream is coming through a flash version of the WM
 player.

I have tried to directly record off the sound card, but my laptop won't
 find
the audio even though I hear it.

Does anyone know if there is a way I can manually locate the stream and
 input it into Replay AV?

BTW, the primary source for my problems is MLB.COM. I dohave the
subscription, but can't seem to get recordings from live or archived
 games.

 THanks in advance,
 Robin

swapping channels

2006-06-28 Thread Bobcat
I sure hope I can get a free or low cost batch converter to swap the left
and right channels of a bunch of lossless WMA files.

I have ripped my whole CD collection to WMA lossless and just found out they
are all reversed. I don't even know how this can happen if one is digitally
ripping with Window Media Player 10.
