making Total Recorder run in other logins
Listers, Could anybody give me the shortest way to make Total Recorder accessible from any of the three different login accounts on my XP Home computer? I didn't think this would be a problem, but when trying to schedule a session yesterday, and allowing it to run in my wife's account, rather than mine, it didn't work. Further more, when I tried to run the program manually, TR came up unregistered. Surely there must be away to run the program in more than one account. Otherwise, I'll never be able to record my favorite talk shows while my dear wife is hard at work pursuing her PH.D. Re: another computer question
Hi Michael, soundblaster is probably the most popular sound card app out, so can find at almost all computer stores. You can go to their Creative labs websie and read more info, r even order one from them. they often have big sales going on too... If there's a compuSA nearby, they have them on display - out of the box. HTH. Hi Chuck, I guess I must have missed something during this thread. I was going by the information that Terese Ann Goren posted, which gave me the impression mp3spartks was up and running. Her post is pasted below for your reference. Thanks for the clarification and sorry for my confusion...Norma Terese: I'm probably a litle late here but allof mp3 was replaced by mp3sparks.com and you can use your current allofmp3login to download stuff. They also except vis and mastercard. Supposably the downloads are just a tad more expensive to cover legal costs for us licensing. Re: Zen Stone Plus
From the review, it says: ... the first song from each folder will start playing as you browse. The gist is that you're getting the same exact music navigation as with the Stone, just now you have a screen. Essentially, the screen just serves to allow for several other features. So it sounds like the screen and the extra features don't get in the way of navigating the music and the tracks already on the Stone Plus, i.e. you could just use it exactly like the Stone. I guess the real question, as Bob asks, then is whether the extra features, like the tuner and the recorder, and the interface is accessible. Bobcat wrote: The Creative Zen Stone Plus is new. question about cdex
Hi list, i am using cdex160. if i convert an mp3 file to ogg, all is well. but, if i convert an ogg file to mp3, although the convertion takes place,if i then open the mp3 file in foobar, it won't play. foobar wil give all the details of the file, the length and the rates that are the attributes of the file. also, if i use the right arrow to move along the file as i would if i was listening to it, and wanted to jump ahead, the position reading changes. by the way, i am still using the beta version of cdex 160. tthanks, brian. -- No virus found in this outgoing message. I am the part-owner of a low-power FM radio station in whistler, Canada. while the station is primarily for tourist information, one of my responsibilities is putting together the overnight programming, which consists of OTR shows played back-to-back. I'm using SoundForge 8.0B for this process, and, being a neophyte to the world of digital audio editing, am having some challenges. Are there any current JAWS tutorials for SoundForge? I've seen one for SoundForge 4.5, but am unable to figure out where to purchase it online. as well, I'm wondering if that tutorial is still worthwile, considering 8.0 is the current version. On a similar note, I've been having difficulties in pasting my programs together. What I intend to do is collect each night's list of shows (along with my intros) into a single MP3 file, for our main computer system to run. However, it seems that whenever I attempt to paste these shows together, SoundForge crashes and has to be restarted. My theory is that I'm somehow interrupting the paste process with keystrokes, but I have no way of knowing when the operation has completed (Insert+page down gives me a status message, but when I hit the spacebar to start playback, the program often crashes). Does anyone on hear have any tips on making this process work smoother? Thanks very much. Re: Is mp3sparks down?
Yes, that is now true, but it always hasn't been. Of course allofmp3 was shut down, it's now mp3sparks.com. It's my understanding that these sites could keep oppening and closing as the Russians try to keep them open because of the money. You'll just have to take your chances. For those interested, mp3sparks.com looks, acts, and feels like allofmp3.com and the alltunes application looks, feels, and acts very similar to the allofmp3 xplorer. Follow-up on FM Transmitters
A couple of months ago, there was a great thread on this list about FM transmitters. A user recommended the transmitter found at http://www.wavemach.com. I purchased one of these and am thrilled. The range is huge, the construction solid, no nasty power hum, very good stereo separation, in short, no complaints whatsoever. I got him to add a level control that allows me to set the line in for the two RCA sockets, and he also added small buttons for setting the frequency. It has a standard antenna socket at the back and comes with a very solid little antenna, not just a wire. So if you're looking for an FM transmitter, this one is definitely worth a look, but it is on the high end of the price range. You definitely get what you pay for though. Brian, a friend of mine also uses CDEX and has exactly the same problem. I recommended Switch to him, the free version should do what you want. You can get it from www.nch.com.au. *** Michael Lang *** You wrote: Hi list, i am using cdex160. if i convert an mp3 file to ogg, all is well. but, if i convert an ogg file to mp3, although the convertion takes place,if i then open the mp3 file in foobar, it won't play. foobar wil give all the details of the file, the length and the rates that are the attributes of the file. also, if i use the right arrow to move along the file as i would if i was listening to it, and wanted to jump ahead, the position reading changes. by the way, i am still using the beta version of cdex 160. tthanks, brian. Copying audio onto a computer from vinyl (old fashioned records) or tape is certainly appropriate for the list and the subject seems to be of interest to many list members. So, post away! If anyone is interested, I use Goldwave to record a wave file from an external turntable, cassette or open reel tape machine. Then I use Nero to burn CDs. I have Diamond Cut Six to clean up noise but I'm by no means very experienced in using most of the features. I have used the noise reduction in Goldwave and it does just a fair job. There are many ways to copy audio onto a CD and I think it comes down to the software and hardware you have and how much you want to spend on additional software and hardware. RE: Is mp3sparks down?
Hi Chuck, for some months now, AllOfMp3's shut-down has been anticipated. People who spent enough with them were given an invitation quite some time back to migrate to MP3Sparks. Those invited users have been using MP3Sparks in place of AllOfMP3 well before AllOfMP3 was closed. All that has happened now is that the anticipated shut-down of AllOfMp3 has occurred. MP3Sparks was down due to the load, but it was never shut down. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Chuck Adkins Sent: Friday, 3 August 2007 1:00 p.m. To: PC audio discussion list. Oh sure, but I but it is being run by the same people, because my ballance would show up both places and both sites look the same. My resource actually in Russia was wrong maybe about mp3sparks being closed down, but she thinks it will probably be a matter of time, but she along with me thinks they will just open another site. - Original Message - From: Jonathan Mosen [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: 'PC audio discussion list. Tomorrow, this post may not be correct but for now, I am downloading songs as I write. I had some sighted assistance though in setting up my Alltunes so when I order using IE7 I can open the Alltunes application and all my tracks will just automaticaly start downloading. - Original Message - From: Jonathan Mosen [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: 'PC audio discussion list. The CCrane would, I would estimate, have about a quarter of the range of the new one, even after the mod. Just no contest! Re: Follow-up on FM Transmitters
Thanks, I went to their site and was very very impressed. Bob sure know his stuff doesn't he!! Have you heard or messed with any AM transmitters? From the research I've done the Sstran looks like a very good deal if you can have it built. They can take 100 per cent modulation and have a built-in compressor and with a good antenna, I hear you can get about a mile or two. Not something you would want your speech to be on SMILE. I wouldn't my speech going out over any of these transmitters. I'm glad I have an external dec talk SMILE - Original Message - From: Jonathan Mosen [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: 'PC audio discussion list.
