External sound cards and soundforge 9.0
Hello everyone, I am advised that, to produce better audio work, I need a good quality external sound card. Can anyone please tell me which is the best to buy. Also, I want to look at sound forge and have discovered that version 9 is now available. Can anyone confirm if version 9 has the JAWS script files included as did version 8. Thank you in anticipation of your help. RE: Making Recordings Of On-line Audio Files
Pam I both schedule to record and retrieve via podcast far more than I could ever listen to. I don't view this as a problem as it opens up the opportunity to listen to something when and if I want to. Replay AV, Juice, and iTunes all can be configured to automatically delete items on a regular basis so this eliminates clutter. And I do the collecting on an external hd so my main drive is kept neater. With all this potential audio, I feel like the proverbial kid in the candy store. What I am finding now, thanks to all this audio, is that I do less and less book reading. . Indeed a really thankful heart will extract motive for gratitude from everything, making the most even of scanty blessings. J. R. Re: Rockbox 3.0 is out
Following the link in the original note, I found the release notes for Rockbox 3.0 at http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/ReleaseNotes30, and under the support players section, it includes • iriver: H100, H300 and H10 series, so I think the answer is yes. RE: ****SPAM(8.9)**** Re: alternatives as to where Speech is coming from
Well what you'd have to do would be to assign the various outputs to the sound card you'd like to use for each one. Esentially, you tell your speech output to speak out of one and the rest of your audio would remain with the other. Not sure if I'm explaining it well. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Sharon Lash Sent: Wednesday, September 24, 2008 11:51 AM To: PC Audio Discussion List Subject: SPAM(8.9) Re: alternatives as to where Speech is coming from But a second sound card would still have the speech coming out of the same area, as in stereo speakers, right? - Original Message - From: Dave McElroy WA6BEF [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: 'PC Audio Discussion List' pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Wednesday, September 24, 2008 2:26 PM Subject: RE: alternatives as to where Speech is coming from There's dectalk in a USB version. RE: Making Recordings Of On-line Audio Files
Good thoughts, Mike. I still want a little more control, especially when there's the possibility I may already have heard whatever the presentation might be live. I have enough trouble remembering to visit mailboxes into which I have filtered mail, and if things are too automatic I may forget. In other words, organization is not my strong suit. smile So is there no way to collect items on demand from Itunes? Especially with a certain program, WMKV Computer Talk from WMKV in Cincinnati, I try to catch it live and phone in when I can. I can record the repeat broadcasts with Replay A/V if I want, but a number of months worth of presentations have been uploaded to the Itunes store and are available free. I might want to pick and choose, grabbing only those I haven't heard. It seems there was a program called Golden Ears which allowed podcasts to be downloaded on demand and listened to immediately. It was an option, not the whole premise of the program. I was hoping there'd be some flexibility with Itunes. Just my thoughts.
