Hi,
This thread enspired me to try Foobar2000, and I have to say I absolutely
love it! I have all my plugins in Foobar from Winamp, and have even
replaced some of them with custom-built Foobar ones which are much better.
An example would the SoundTouch plugin. I also have my broadcasting
plugin, EdCast, configured in Foobar now too. After using Winamp for about
3 years, I never thought anything would be better, but Foobar2000 is much
better for me and it is being updated all the time. So, I will say to
people who think Winamp is the best thing since sliced bread, give the
Foobar2000 0.96 Beta4 a try and see what you think, I think you will be
greatly impressed.

Hi Anders,

Regarding Winamp the installation is extremely flexible so you can
install as many or as few features as you want and need so Winamp
doesn't have to take up a lot of space. I like Winamp because I like
experimenting with some of the DSP/Effect plug-ins available for Winamp.
I don't have Hal so I don't know how well the Winamp library works with
Hal. Another reason I like to use Winamp is because of the excellent
Window-Eyes scripts now available for Winamp. However if Foobar 2000
meets all of your needs you might like to keep using it. So you have a
lot of options.

Regards Steve.

Actually i have been using foobar2000 for 4 years now.
However from the beginning it was a really neat and great player.
Though many functions i had in my first version of foobar2000 has been
removed.
For example, you now have to create your own hotkeys for play stop etc.
Now to my question.
Most people seems to use winamp and seems to be very satisfied with it.
But it seems to take up a lot of space though.
Now in the latest version of hal you can use winamp much more flexible
than
before.
The screenreader has got new map files and scripts.
So i am thinking to start using winamp again after 4 years.
There is a streamripper plugin also for winamp.
But why should i use winamp?
More than what i've stated above.
Can the library feature be used?
Such as the shoutcast radio functionality i had in older versions of
winamp.

Hi.

In adition to what other people have said here, the hotkeys that are built
into Winamp are pretty cool. They may seem a bit strange but when you
look at it from using the keyboard it actually makes sense, especially if
you're familiar with using those old tape recorders back in the day.
while in Winamp, the letter x plays a track. c pauses and unpauses it, b
goes to the next song, and the letter z moves you back a song if you're in
a playlist.
obviously the b and z keys won'twork if you have a single song loaded, but
remember, the hotkeys i listed above are in Winamp, no matter what you're
using as far as a screenreader goes. I've never used Hal so I can't begin
to speak on its accessibility but others might be able to. I can however,
say that the Window-eyes scripts that Jeff Bishop wrote are absolutely
supurb and I highly recommend them. For years I always hoped Window-eyes
could have better access to Winamp and it finally does!

Replay AV 8.52 released

2008-11-16 Thread Petro T. Giannakopoulos
http://www.applian.com

- fixed display of multiple File conversion job will start as a background
process messages when converting multiple files.
- Improved registration process for upgrades.

I've tested Replay AV 8.52 and it works very well with JAWS 10. This release
costs $9.95 because you get the vastly improved and powerful Replay Converter
3.20 included. If you have questions on how to use Replay Converter please ask
the questions on the BlindReplay mailing list or PC-Audio list. I am here to
help.

My experience and comments here only.
Backup the schedule8.dat file to another location on your hard drive. This file
contains all your stations/shows/podcasts recording schedules.

I uninstalled via Control Panel's add or remove the following:
Replay AV 8, Replay Converter, YouSendIt Express, WinPCap.

Reboot your computer. Shut down your computer for 2 minutes.

Download Replay AV 8.52 at

http://www.applian.com

Best to buy the upgrade via the website method. $9.95. This way you will have
the product key and copied with ctrl+c so you can paste it in with ctrl+v.

When you have completely installed Replay AV 8.52 and run the program it will
tell you it is a demo version.

You will get a dialog box and here you will have the opportunity to enter the
product key that you purchased and copied with ctrl+c to paste it in and choose
the submit button.

I have not seen any errors or bugs but there is no way one person can test
every file but the product does work very well.

Enjoy!

   Hello Bruce,
I've had similar problems in the past with links not opening in my browser
that would work fine on other computers.
The solution that has usually worked for me is to go into my internet
security settings and reset them to the default settings. Apparently if
they are set a certain way they can block a web site from sending streaming
files to you. Of course you need to make sure that your antivirus and
antispyware programs are up-to-date and working before you change your
security settings. But I've found this method works when nothing else does.

When you have completely installed Replay AV 8.52 and run the program it
will tell you it is a demo version.

You will get a dialog box and here you will have the opportunity to enter
the product key that you purchased and copied with ctrl+c to paste it in
and choose the submit button.

I have not seen any errors or bugs but there is no way one person can test
every file but the product does work very well.

Enjoy!

Thanks so much, Frank. That worked. I wonder where this comes from, as
CJOB isn't supposed to have an MP3 stream.

Hello Bruce,
Sorry about that. It looks like the www.vtuner.com site where I found that
link is temporarily down. However I went to my Winamp history and found this
link to CJOB which I tested and is working as of 8:20 Pm Sunday Nov. 16.
Hope this one works for you as well.

Re: Listening to CJOB Radio Online

2008-11-16 Thread Frank Brown

Hello Bruce,
I did a search for CJOB at:
http://www.vtuner.com
For some reason this site only lists streams that open directly in Winamp,
Windows Media or Real Player. Many of the stations that use the flash
player also have .mp3 feeds. When I'm looking for an alternative stream for
a station that uses the flash player this is the web site I visit.

I'm glad I was able to help.
