don't know where to find instructions, but maybe the following will help you:
First, you have to find a torrent file which contents you want to
download. Those files have the extension .torrent.
open your explorer, press enter on the downloaded torrent file and TAB
through the dialog and change the positioon where the contents should
be downloaded, if you want.
that's all for start up.
I hope you have installed Utorrent, or something similar?

Nokia N75

2009-01-04 Thread JardataLearningCenterEmailService
Hello List!

I just got a Nokia n75 phone. I have tried to connect it to my vpc via a data
cable; however, every system I tried it on says Windows has detected a USB
device, but the product has malfunctions and windows does not recognize it.
The phone works. Do I need to do anything with the phone via the phone to get
windows to recognize it. I did hear Vista say once something about a
driver, but that is all. I want to try code factory's screen reader, but I must
get syncted up with the PC first.

I was wondering whether or not I could put the SDT flash card in one of those
usb readers and add the program that way until I figureout about the phone. I
have a card reader with my pc's and an external one.

Thanks.

You should bring up windows mobile device center under vista and
establish a partnership -- this is the way you can sync things up.
Bring up wmdc first and plug in the cable and things may work better.

Re: new Mediaplayer available

2009-01-04 Thread James Scholes
It has the ability to create playlists in many formats, has a tabbed interface
so I can have my most frequently used playlists open at the same time, not sure
about a sleep timer, but 3rd party apps are available that interface with it
and tell it to stop at a specified time. It burns CD's, has Last.FM support, a
fantastic music library function, and hotkeys can be set for literally every
function of it. It also has a fantastic crossfader, silence reducer, and
ordering playlists is as easy as pressing 1 keyboard control. Need I go on? I
could sit here all day listing everything it does, but I'll end by saying, its
free!

 Hello to all,
I think some of you may be interested in the following information:
We, the Mar-Dy-Team, have created a new program, a mixture between
 Media player and playlistgenerator.
 This program is called MaPlEr.
We have created it, because we are not happy about the usage of
Windows Mediaplayer, and, as versions grow, the usage of Winamp too.
So we tried to create a program, which can play the most popular sound
files, has the ability to create and modify playlists, and has such
features like adjusting the pitch, without changing the tempo and vice
versa, adjusting the volume of music, without changing the volume of
 the screenreader, and so on.

The link to our homepage is:
 www.mar-dy.com
Here you can find more information about all the features,
download MaPlEr and listen to an audio presentation which
 we did on BCT (www.blindcooltech.com).

We would be very interested in feedback. What do you think of the
program? Is it useful for you, what features would you like in future
 versions.

And if you want to discuss with other users of MaPlEr, or just
want to be informed of updates and so on, just send an empty email to
 mardysoftware-subscr...@as-2.de

Best regards to all of you

When you plug the N75 into your PC with the USB data cable, a dialog
comes up on the N75 asking what connection mode you want to use. If
you'll be using PC Suite to install MS then you'll want to use PC Suite
mode. Unfortunately, I've had my Nokia N75 for a while, and I can't
recall what order the options show up in. Hopefully, you'll be able to
get some sighted assistance, someone else on this list will know or
you'll find some instructions on the web for installing MS or Talks

don't know where to find instructions, but maybe the following will help
you:

First, you have to find a torrent file which contents you want to

open your explorer, press enter on the downloaded torrent file and TAB
through the dialog and change the positioon where the contents should
be downloaded, if you want.
that's all for start up.
I hope you have installed Utorrent, or something similar?

Once you use your browser to load torrents into uTorrent and start your
torrent downloads, using uTorrent is pretty straightforward. You can tab
around the main menu until you get to the list of torrents you're
downloading. There is a combo box where you can restrict the view, but I
just usually leave it to all. You can arrow up and down the list of
downloads, and I use shift-F10 to bring up the context menu for each
item. The options in the context menu are pretty self explanatory. I
hope this helps.

Re: Nokia N75

2009-01-04 Thread Christopher Chaltain
Sorry, I don't understand the question. All Series 60 3rd edition phones
work this way, and it doesn't make any difference whether you're using
Talks or MS. The initial order the options come up in will be the same,
but this is configurable, so I can't recall what that order was originally.

Mr. Bill wrote:

hi well does it do the same for all ?At 12:10 PM 1/4/2009, you wrote:
When you plug the N75 into your PC with the USB data cable, a dialog
comes up on the N75 asking what connection mode you want to use. If
you'll be using PC Suite to install MS then you'll want to use PC
Suite mode. Unfortunately, I've had my Nokia N75 for a while, and I
can't recall what order the options show up in. Hopefully, you'll be
able to get some sighted assistance, someone else on this list will
know or you'll find some instructions on the web for installing MS or
Talks without sighted help. I'm a Talks user, so I can't answer the
rest of your questions. I hope this helps.

Hello List!

I just got a Nokia n75 phone. I have tried to connect it to my vpc
via a data cable; however, every system I tried it on says Windows
has detected a USB device, but the product has malfunctions and
windows does not recognize it. The phone works. Do I need to do
anything with the phone via the phone to get windows to recognize
it. I did hear Vista say once something about a driver, but that is
all. I want to try code factory's screen reader, but I must get
syncted up with the PC first.

I was wondering whether or not I could put the SDT flash card in one
of those usb readers and add the program that way until I figureout
about the phone. I have a card reader with my pc's and an external
one.

Thanks.

You might want to download the torrent file by right clicking it and saving
it. when you open it, a torrent can be deleted as the browser removes
older materials.

I use free download manger which will save the torrents and actually handles
torrents as well as an added bonus, but I prefer utorrent.

Once you use your browser to load torrents into uTorrent and start your
torrent downloads, using uTorrent is pretty straightforward. You can tab
around the main menu until you get to the list of torrents you're
downloading. There is a combo box where you can restrict the view, but I
just usually leave it to all. You can arrow up and down the list of
downloads, and I use shift-F10 to bring up the context menu for each item.
The options in the context menu are pretty self explanatory. I hope this
helps.

Hi Angel,

You shouldn't have anywhere near 240 files, even if you downloaded all of
the language options.

I suggest that you download an installation file from
http://cdexos.sourceforge.net/?q=download

The latest release version is 1.51, which has been around for quite some
time. The latest beta is 1.70 (Beta 2) which has also been
around for a long time, so it would appear that work on this program has
stopped.

If, when you first try to run it, you get an error, you might also need
to install some ASPI drivers for Windows XP. There is
information on the download page about this. I don't know if the program
runs with Vista.

I have been using the beta version with Windows XP Home for some time
without any problems.

Barry Chapman

I use a combination of Clone CD and Any DVD. Both are available from
Slysoft.com. You can make an exact copy of any CD either audio or data and
the same for any DVD. I also use Nero 7 to do most custome burning here.
Works just fine and I've heard that newer versions of Nero aren't as

I think there is a POD cast on BCT site on the Dspeech. But you
 can do
it two ways. from your text editor, copy your document and paste
 it into
the Dspeech editor. To do this just click AlrF for the file menu
 and hit
new and that will clear anything and bring a new editing field up.
  Just
paste your copy there and use the tab key to move around
 in the
keys. You can go through the menues and find the key help list and
 there
it tells you which keys to use to do what?
If you have the sappi voices from JAWS, you can use anyone of
 these on
the fly. The main work keys are the F keys.

You can also insert a document by hitting CTRO for open and tab
 down to
get to the folder and file you want to enter, hit enter and that
 file
will load. Work it over, sometimes you need to arrange the commas
 and so
fort to make it bread better. To convert it to an MP3 you open the
 file
menue and go down to convert to audio and there you will be given
 two
choices. Just tab to the MP3 and hit enter a but first make sure
 you save
it to your file of choice.
Listen to the POD cast, it gives more detail.

I use Foobar2000, its free, and if I add the SoundTouch plug-in, I have all
the pitch, tempo and rate features that MaPlEr offers.

I use winamp for listening to streams, making playlists and ripping. Does
this program have a ripper? If not is there a reason to move from Winamp to
this one.?

 Hello to all,
Just want to answer to questions for everyone:
The price of MaPlEr is 7,00 Euro. This is around $10 US.
The 700,00 Euro in our Audio presentation was just a joke. ;-)

I'm blind myself and tried to do my best to make MaPlEr as
 userfriendly as possible.

Have a nice time and best regards

 Marco (Mar-Dy-Team)
 Sean:

It already is user-friendly to Blind folks.

 Cheers.

What do you think of the
program? Is it useful for you, what features would you like in future
 versions.

And if you want to discuss with other users of MaPlEr, or just
want to be informed of updates and so on, just send an empty email to
 mardysoftware-subscr...@as-2.de
to subscribe to our software mailing list.

Best regards to all of you
 Marco Steinebach (Germany)
 (Mar-dy-Team)

Ämne: My thoughts on the Mapler media player

Hi

There has been some discussion on the list about the new Mapler media player
and playlist generator. I thought I would give my overview of how I found
using the player from a user's perspective.

Many media players are either fairly complex to use from a screen-reading
standpoint or they require special plugins to achieve tasks which we as
visually impaired people may like to do. Mapler is designed to make the
playback of audio files and the creation of playlists easy while
incorporating some unique features.

As has been discussed, Mapler is an audio player and playlist generator
produced by a small company in Germany. At least one of the developers is
visually impaired, a fact derived from the podcast downloadable from the
company web site which explains clearly how to use the program. All
functions can be accessed using the keyboard or through the menu system.

Because Mapler uses standard windows controls, no special scripts or
screen-reader configuration files are required. It functions well with
jaws, window-eyes or system access and I imagine all other screen-readers.

Mapler costs 7 Euro if PayPal is used (about 10 dollars), or 11 Euro if an
external company processes the credit card payment.

Learning how to use Mapler is best achieved in my view using the podcast or
by exploring the menus. The help topics are not accessible via the Help
menu for some reason, but you can access them via the shortcut off the
Programs menu, available from the Start menu. However, not all the files
have been translated into English as some still remain in German.

Having said that, Mapler is an incredibly easy player to use. For those
people who do not want to learn how to use a complex media player,Mapler
probably is for you.

Advantages of using the Player:
1. It is easy to start, stop and pause the playing of a file, or move
forward and backward it in predefined steps, such as five seconds, 30
seconds, or a minute at a time.
2. Files or folders can be added to create a playlist to hear the tracks
immediately or the playlist can be saved with an .m3u extension. 3. One of
the things I liked about Mapler was the ability to change the order of
tracks in the playlist. Tracks can be rearranged by pressing Control+Up
Arrow or Control+Down Arrow to move the selected track up or down in the
playing order. Keystrokes also exist to move an item to the beginning or
end of a playlist. 4. The volume of playback can be adjusted independently
of the screen-reader. 5. The variable speed without pitch adjustment is
particularly impressive. Many hardware and computer-based players often
disturb the overall quality of the playback when audio is reproduced at high
speed and I found accessing audio at a rapid rate using Mapler to be very
easy on the ear. 6. There are a number of functions you can select when
audio is being played, such as to repeat tracks, shuffle, continuously play,
fade out or cross-fade. Parameters in the Settings menu allow you to
control the cross-fade process. 7. A special sleep timer allows you to have
the computer shut down or go into hybernation when the track or playlist has
finished playing, or after a designated time period has elapsed. 8. One
really cool feature is that you can pause and play the audio from within any
application by pressing the Pause key on the computer keyboard, located on
the top right of the qwerty keyboard.
If for example you are located within Microsoft Word, and the Pause key is
pressed once, the audio from Mapler is either paused or playback is resumed.
If pressed twice quickly, focus is set to the Mapler window for any
manipulation you may wish to do. When the Pause key is pressed twice
quickly again, focus is reset back to the application you were previously
using, very nice. 9. The supported file formats are audio CD, wav, MP3, MP4,
OGG, WMA unprotected, AAC and FLAC.

As a summary of the advantages of using Mapler, given this is version 1 I
think this is going to be a fantastic program. It already has some great
features. While some people may be a little scathing of specialist or
accessible programs, undoubtedly there is a significant computer user base
who can benefit from them. The only way in which the program will improve
would be if people constructively submit feedback to the developers. Before
I do that, let me write a few words about the demonstration copy of the
program because the concept is quite interesting.

All the functions of Mapler are available in the demo, and in fact if you
just wanted to use it for creating playlists
