Re: JAWS Compatible Music Sharing Programs

2009-03-28 Thread James Scholes
Hi Donovan,

BearShare got taken down by an anti-piracy group a long while back. It has
continued to work for a number of years for people who still had the client,
however if it cannot connect, there's pretty much nothing you can do about it
as new versions are controlled by previously mentioned anti-piracy group.
Version 6 is not accessible, and connects to a highly expensive music store.
You say you're not looking for a torrent service, however torrents are the most
affective way of downloading content these days if you do not want to pay for
it. HTH

If you enable the compact view option, each conversation will appear in its

connection problem only occurred when another blind friend of mine
installed it onto a newly-reformatted Del computer, which had gone
from Vista to XP. It works fine for me, but after I installed it on a

incredibly reliable and user friendly. However, I'm now running into

a problem, in that it will no longer connect to the Gnutella

I'm thinking this could be a compatibility issue with the firewall

to

think 5.2.5 is no longer supported. Has anyone run into this

If this continues, I'm looking at another easy-to-use sharing

On GutterStar.net at http://gutterstar.net/downloads.php, in the file
sharing section, they have JFW scripts for both the Direct Connect and
eDonkey networks. I don't have experience with either, but since they
have JFW scripts for them, I assume they'll work with JFW.

2009-03-28 Thread Jerry Howell
Hello all,

My name is Jerry Howell and I have recently subscribed to this list.

I am interested in recording with Sound Forge, and converting casettes and
records to mp3.

I am also interested in doing things like saving my NLS casette magazines to
mp3 files and similar projecs.

I am sure I will have questions about sound forge as I learn, and I would like
to thank all of you in advance for any help I will receive.

I also plan to contribute when I can as well.

Thanks again,

Virtual audio cable

2009-03-28 Thread kb
Hey, guys and gals. It it with great trepidation I ask this question, but
I'll do it anyway.

I have a cheap little turtle beach soundcard that does just have output, but

possible to do the following:

I want to have all my audio except for Jaws 8.something, go through my
little turtle beach soundcard, and I want to be able to record those sounds,
Is there any way to record the output of that turtle beach using virtual
audio cable? I have been trying to make sense out of the vac manual, and I
just can't seem to wrap myy brain around what it is saying. I'm guessing it
won't work, but I thought I'd throw the question out th3ere. I don't want
to wade through tons of stuff that I don't understand to find this out and
am just wondering if anyone might have any ideas out there. Just a shot in
the dark and a long shot at that.

Hello!
Yes i guess this is possible.
You can for example set the recording source as virtual audio cable and your
playback source as your turtlebeach card.
It was a while back i was fiddling with vac but it will work.
Maybe someone here can give you more details on how to go about it.
Good Luck.
