Re: tapin radio yet again

2011-09-02 Thread Vítek
Hi,

Tom just a brief question do you use scheduling for anything else except for
Tapin-radio? If so and if it works then the problem would have to be in TR even
though its running good almost everywhere. I cant think of any program using
task scheduler except for the system itself.

Kevin and list: It might not hurt; I may be on to something as I've been
discussing this issue with my tech that does computer work for me; have to
investigate something further, but if I'm reading what he showed me
correctly, the task scheduler is..indeed..running; this would (IMOP) make it
a Tapin Radio issue, although Phil probably wouldn't want to hear that!
Tom Kaufman P.S. But yes; go ahead and post the article and I'll see if I
can follow it. Thanks!

I don't think so, but you can try.

I will try it but I am using window's7 so maybe the scheduler works on
win7. if I get a chance I will try it later.

Do you want me to post the article about the upgrade install?

You can still do a window's upgrade I think using xp. I don't know as I
have not tried this using this OS. but I am sure it can be done in the
same way anyway if you don't want to do it fare enough.

This will not be like a reformat this will just over write the OS and
 fix problems.

I don't think this would affect your updates, as I don't think the task
scheduler is being brought into play.

If I am wrong I am more than happy to be corrected, thinking about it
it might be that I am wrong because you can schedule it to download and
install at any given time someone who knows about this will I am sure
 let us know.

I am really just sort of shooting in the dark really can't give you any
more help on this matter sorry but it has been an interesting one for me.

This will be no help sorry, but it sounds to me like you have problems
with your installation of window's. Have you tried taking the PC back
 using window's restore?

I can't remember what OS your on, If it's window's7 you can put the
disc in and do an upgrade you will have to uninstall window's sp1 first,
but it will fix any problems you might have and you won't have to
 start all over again.

Your programs and settings will be just as they were but if there are
any problems with window's they will be fixed.

I tried this on a beta box I have and it does work. You will have to do
all your updates again I think you will need the sp1 anyway so when it
has done it's thing just one thing it's been a few weeks since I tried
it but I think you will have to put in your registration code for
 window's again.

I can post the article about this if this OK with the mods. good luck. I
am now out of ideas with this one I will try this with tap in radio
later, i have used the scheduler but not for a long time and maybe this
version has broken it. I think they would have had a flood of
 complaints if they had.

The Tr.exe in tapin radio just another idea have you tried running this
as administrator? no more ideas I'm afraid good luck.

ReReply From Latest Email To Tapin Radio Developer; Need Translation To Blind User

2011-09-02 Thread Tom Kaufman
Hi Folks: I'm sure that some of you are tired of my posts concerning Tapin
Radio! But I really do want to somehow get this program to act as it is
supposed to act! So after talking with my computer tech (he figured out that
my task scheduler is indeed running) I decided to send Phil another email; the
following is his response; problem is: I think these instructions are for
either for Windows 7, or are for how a sighted person would do this! So if
someone is willing to look at these instructions; then tell me how someone with
a screen reader (Jaws 12) can accomplish this (you can write mme offlist at
tomca...@comcast.net if you'd rather as to not tie up this list) that would be
much appreciated! The following is Phil's response:
Hello Tom,

It's a Windows issue.

This is what I found.

This behavior can occur because the task scheduler is not set to Log
On as the Local System Account.

To fix this behavior follow these steps:

Right-click My Computer and from the drop down menu click Manage.
From the Services and Applications menu, click Services.
From the right scroll down menu, double-click Task Scheduler.
Click the Log On tab, select the Local System Account and Allow
Service to Interact with Desktop options, and then click Apply.
Click the General tab, click Start.

Let me know how it goes.

I find the latest version is as accessible as it ever was. You need to

worked in a long long time, although the podcasts and local media parts

Searching for Recommendations: 4-Channel Mixer for Online Broadcasting

2011-09-02 Thread Danny Miles
Hi all. I'm looking to do some internet radio broadcasting and,
having found that broadcasting directly through my computer or
soundcard makes my microphone sound horrible (muffled, buzzing noise
behind vocals, popping when turned on/off, etc), I'm looking for a
suitable and accessible 4-channel mixer which I can use to channel my
soundcard and microphone. I'd also like to have the option of
plugging headphones into it so that I can hear the results of my work
as it happens, and features such as being able to use more than one
channel at once (such as talking over the start/end of a track) are
also very important. Unfortunately I'm very short of space, so I need
something which has good quality output but which is as compact as
possible. I know this is quite a specific set of requirements, but if
anyone knows of such a model which is accessible for use by someone
with total sight loss (no issues with seeing lights showing feedback
etc), I'd be grateful to hear details. I'd also appreciate advice on
any adaptors which I might need to help me plug 3.5 mm jacks and an
XLR microphone into such a machine, as this is my first time of
exploring this area of production.

Many thanks in advance for any help and advice, Danny

Hi. Am based in the UK and found lots on Amazon, but many of them

The latest version is probably 5.621 as Chris says...I have 5.61 myself and

You can generate a Ninite installer of Winamp at
www.ninite.com/winamp.
The latest and greatest will work providing you tell Winamp
to use the
classic and not the modern skin.
