Question about streaming via a LAN

2012-01-16 Thread Barry Chapman
Hi all,

What I am wanting to do is to listen on my Book Port Plus to what I have
playing in Winamp or other player on my desktop computer.
I assume this will involve using some streaming software, but I don't want to
stream via the Internet, just via my local area
network which I can access via WIFI.

Has anyone done this? If so, is it easy to do and how would I go about it?

Thanks,
Barry Chapman

You can just use Stationplaylist Studio for that. The program consists of

Stationplaylist creator is the scheduling system. With just studio you can
do play-out. I haven't messed with the beat mixing but I think it will do
that. I am more familiar with it in a broadcast and radio automation
context.

Reaper will handle MP3 files without a problem.

I'm not sure how you go about opening MP3 files in Reaper as I've not used the
software for that sort of thing, my guess is that you import them into your
project as required.

Naturally you can save out as a MP3 if required though this isn't the default,
remember we're talking Audio Production software here smile.

Two computers and two other audio sources

Hi all, I need recommendations on a good, simple, 4 channel (or more) stereo
mixer and where it can be bought here in the US. What I am trying to do is mix
the outputs from two computers and two other stereo sources all using either
1/8 or 1/4 plugs into one mixer and get one line level output. I would like
something simple with sliders, not knobs. Any advise and recommendations would

Reaper is a flexible and innovative piece of audio production software thus the

embarcadero custom controls and goldwave

2012-01-16 Thread Dave bahr

Hi list,

I have found out that the custom control that goldwave uses for its
keyboard manager is made by embarcadero. I'm wondering if anyone has had
experience dealing with this company's development tools and visual
component library user interfaces? It appears that goldwave is made up
of these components, and it seems that accessability with window-eyes in
particular is difficult with the interface. Not impossible, but
difficult. My guess then is this is the reason that some controls are
not readable just by tabbing through the dialogues, but have to be read
in conjunction with the mouse cursor which I think gets kind of confusing.

Any thoughts on this one?

What are you wanting to do?

As you can see Reaper is a very powerful program and has many options so if I
started trying to explain things without knowing what it was that you really
wanted to do then we'd be here all night.

You might for example try with what I suggested, the Insert Media File option
I think it is.
